We survived first road trip with LO! Slept the 3 hour drive there and back. She was great the whole time. Took her shopping, to restaurants and to the ocean. Even dipped her little feet in the cold water briefly. Planned on letting her try the pool but it was to cold. Great weekend!
We went out of town for the weekend and came home only to have S sleep terribly. Sunday nod the woke up every half hour but slept from 8:30 to 10:30 in his bassinet and 4am to 6am in his bassinet. The rest of the night he would fall asleep on me, sleep for half an hour in the bassinet and then wake up. Last night I put him in the bassinet and every time he immediately started crying. I would try to soothe him but he only wanted to be held and sleep on me. I am dying. This is after a whole week of 5 and 6 hour stretches in his bassinet and falling asleep on his own. Ugh.

Sorry! I keep telling myself it will get better.
Apparently in my sleep deprived internet searching, I filled out a contact request from a baby sleep consultant. Haha
This didn't post. @jags How did you hand express? What did you express into? I manually pumped while I fed S last night. He wasn't that hungry and I couldn't get much anymore form hand pump. I wanted to empty breast I tried hand expressing and got more milk but it was so messy.
Oh a side note, I was hand pumping and decided I was done and would put it in the fridge. As I was walking with the pump in my hand, I looked down and had milk spraying.
I was hand-expressing into milk bags. It got messy sometimes. Much easier to hand express into a bottle. I actually still have to hand-express after pumping, as there is still milk in there that the pump just can't get, even with massaging.
I just put my hand around my breast in a "C" shape with my thumb on top. Then simultaneously squeeze while pushing my thumb towards the nipple.

My sweet hubby has just had the chop and, bless him, it's so cute the big deal he is making about it.
Don't get me wrong, I have absolutely no doubt that he is super sore and swollen and I'm waiting on him hand and foot, but I can't help but giggle at his poor fore lorn face and how he makes sure I notice every time he winces and grimaces when he's getting up and down etc.
I am so thankful to him for doing it so I never have to take another damn hormone again but, awwww men are so precious : )
Aaah baby got his brother's cold. Waking up after 15 min in the rnp. Can't breathe through his nose well and apparently hasn't yet mastered breathing through his mouth. I'm hoping he will fall asleep in the swing. I'm so utterly exhausted.
oh no, poor little guy! Hope he gets better soon. And you get some rest, too!

Awww, I hope he's better soon. I'm dreading the first cold. She starts daycare tomorrow, so...
He slept three hours from midnight to three! Now he's nursing and will hopefully go right back to sleep. So our night has thankfully turned around I have my fingers crossed that it stays this way. Especially since I'm also a bit sick now.
I hope that baby boy is on the upswing and you don't get it too badly. We all had a bad cold recently and I had it the easiest. Baby girl was miserable but tough. Sending you healthy vibes!
I have a convention this week (thur-sat) for work, it's about an hour from my house... It's an all day thing so ry will go to daycare all day and my friend is watching him in the evening(I'll get home around 9pm)... I will have to pump all day while I'm there. I'm having so much anxiety about it all and idk why. I know he will be okay but it just feels like a long time to be away from him
I have a fever, body aches, and a sore throat. Moms should not be allowed to get sick.
I hope you feel better soon!
Moms really don't have time to be sick or hurt. I fell while holding my 2 year old last week and it took a week for me to find time to go in and get xrays. Luckily nothing in my knee is broken, but I have a second degree burn from the fall and a bruised bone with fluid build up. I can barely walk but have to keep parenting.
I haven't noticed any "leaps" where DS eats more, sleeps less/worse, or is fussier. He might have a couple nights where he wakes up a few times like when he was younger. But he always falls right back to sleep.
Honestly these type of days/weeks always give me so much respect for single parents!! I just can't imagine.
Absolutely agree.
My wee guy has a horrible cold at the moment and the past few days he's been totally miserable, grizzling in between really short naps and eating. Even just having DH hold him on the couch while I take a break makes it so much more doable. Thank goodness he slept pretty well last night so hopefully that helps.
I just checked the online update for daycare, DS just slept over 3 hours straight. I am scared for tonight...
My baby slept a grand total of 50min all day! It was her first day though, so hopefully she gets better. I hope your night goes OK!
Thanks! And I am sure it will be better once she gets used to the new surroundings. DS only drank 2 oz each day his first 2 days at daycare, but once he got more comfortable he ate much better. There is just that adjustment period for them. Hope it gets better for her quickly!

I think it's awesome you can get an online update!
I love being able to go online and check what is going on throughout the day! It is such a nice feature, but I might check on him a bit too often I am sure as he gets older I will not check on him quite as obsessively
So we had a big storm roll through this afternoon. Now power lines are down in my neighborhood and most of my city has no power. My first thought was "my milk stash!" I hate pumping so if the 60 oz I have in the freezer doesn't make it through this power outage I will be so angry! DH is under strict instructions to not open the freezer under any circumstances. S and I went to my parents' so that we can sleep comfortably in air conditioning so I hope S sleeps well. Fingers crossed....

Oooh that's frustrating. L is formula fed, so she has no problem with bottles at least! And, thank you
