Tonight so far is sooooo much better! Both kiddos asleep by 830! I feel like a winner. I'm going to try hard to sleep right now myself so I can be up soon for motn baby feedings!

This popped up in my FB feed today - I love the Brave Girls Club. The pep talk I needed after a rough day.
Dear Faithful Girl,
We can’t see the end when we start at the beginning, and we often can’t see it from the middle. And sometimes we can’t even see the end when we are getting very close to it…….so what do we do?
When we spend all of our time worried about how things are going to turn out…imagining all kinds of scary possibilities in our head….we are not showing the kind of faith that got us started on our journey in the first place.
Not being able to see the end really hurts sometimes…sometimes it feels like more than we can bear. This is why it is so important to think about TODAY and find all of the joys in today. This is why it is so important to trust that just like always….things will continue to work out in ways that can turn out best for our own journey.
Give yourself a break, dear friend. Trust your journey. Be patient with yourself…and be proud of yourself for how far you have already come. And enjoy the middle parts…because that’s where most of our living takes place.

Rough night. We're basically sleep training ds again which is no fun for anyone. He went to bed within a half hour, though, so that's progress. Baby was up many times. No dirty diaper, not hungry, just wanted to be held.
These babies, I tell ya. I figured out how to calm him during his evening crankfest. Swaddle + paci. A couple weeks ago he seemed to hate the Swaddle but apparently now loves it and it calms him right down.

Dh is working late tonight. My incision is very sore today, ds kicked me square on it this morning And it's bruised more. I shoved a giant ice pack in my grannie panties and got everything done tonight. Like a boss. In my grannie panties.

I bought 2 newborn woombie swaddles at the consignment store. Game changers. She sleeps about 4 hours in them!

I miss my tiny sausage baby. Woombies are the best, perfect for the summer heat.

We use the SwaddleMe and it's also been amazing. He just put himself to sleep on his play mat after I swaddled him.
Just had a LC appt. It went very well. DS2 is a champion BFer, can put away milk in record time, and is packing on the weight faster than expected. She said his anatomy appears like he has a bit of a lip tie but he can move his lip freely so it isn't of concern.

I put on mascara today in attempt to feel a little better about myself and maybe, just maybe, like my normal self. Now, pp hormones don't go ruining this for me! Mama does not need mascara running down her face!
I don't bf, but wo would give away breast milk? Isn't that gold!?
Well I think it was a mistake. Like some women might pump and store in other types of bottles (ie creamer) and then you would hope no one would use your creamer or anything else with your name on it from a community fridge but we all know some people are assholes. This asshole got what was coming to him/her.
I also thought I would share this factoid from my LC that doesn't just apply to BFing moms/babies. She said skin to skin with mom is important because it releases neurotransmitters in baby that aid in brain development. I knew it helped with milk production but didn't know the brain development part. The more you know and all.
That's hilarious! But why doesn't she bring her breastmilk home every night after work? And why bother with the creamer bottle?? I would put my BM in storage bags, put them in my cooler than put the whole thing in the fridge. Like that no one in the office had to see my bags of BM in the community fridge, all they saw was my lunchbox.
ETA that's a great way to mess with the person stealing food from other people, even if it was in fact creamer and not BM in the bottle, as long as they believe the note.
