Still adding to our list with less than 3 months to go. Thoughts on Grant, Jett, Jethro? I feel like I'm entertaining a lot of names now since we really don't know what we will go with at this. (For reference, other names on the list include James, Samuel, Anderson, Owen, Declan, Brooks, Luke, Lucas)
Nooo to all three. Grant isn't as bad as the other two, though. Have you considered Graham/Graeme?
ETA: Personally, I would just go with James.
Sigh, I love Graham and Graeme but DH doesn't think it is "strong" enough. James is still my #1, now that we are getting closer I worry it is too boring
Jett is HEEEELL to the no! Grant and Jethro aren't great either. James is the best name by miles, with Owen coming in second and the rest really not in sight.

Grant is meh, Jett and Jethro are a big NOPE.
Off your list I like James, Owen, Luke/Lucas, and Brooks is a total GP name for me.
As for James being too boring, it's one of the (maybe THE) most popular boy names in the US since the SS list began but I feel like you don't actually hear it often. I think it's a name that gets passed down a lot and, therefore, people end up going by a NN instead. FWIW, H is James and he loves it, but you have to be prepared that people will try to call LO Jimmy or Jim. Personally, I also love Jamie for a boy but I fear YH will think that isn't nearly 'strong' enough.
I kind of really love Jethro, kind of like a more hip Arlo. However, outside of the theoretical, I think its just too divisive, so I wouldn't really consider it usable.
I don't love Grant, but it's fine. Jett is a misspelled form of transportation. I love James and Samuel, and Lucas and and Owen are perfectly lovely choices as well.
