geekmama, my DS and DH have the same first name also except my DH goes by a nickname based off of his middle name. I grew up in a family with a lot of repeat names so I know the struggle when it comes to paperwork, travelling, etc.
geekmama um, no. Getting to name the first kid after you, even if it's just the first name, is pretty big. You deserve more say this time. Am I understanding that it's just spelling? So you both agree on the mn, it's not like you're suggesting something out of left field!

Yeah! Good lord he needs to give in. Happy wife happy life.

Yup. The middle name is Rey. He wants to spell it Rae. Of course, the first name is his grandmother's but apparently I still don't get to decide how to spell the middle name.
geekmama, Is it just me or is it time to find one of your ancestors with a cool name and insist on using that? I think you're fighting the good fight and you deserve more say. Good luck!
Also, I do not recommend putting ABC Elmo in the crib during nap time. I think DD is rolling over on him and occasionally I will hear "Oh, Hello!" over the monitor and once the entire ABCs being sung. Luckily she hasn't woken up yet.

Shut down my laptop right at 2. Finished vacuuming the house. Got a pedi ( they were busy, so I was relaxing in the massage chair with my feet soaking for a half hour before they started).
I got one of those self serve/add your own topping FroYos after. I'm eating that now, sitting by the pool, reading magazines and hoping my H and DD will be a little late tonight

Got off 1.5hrs early today! With the excuse that I have to work tomorrow anyway. Regardless. But then I found out that I don't have the mailbox key on my set of keys to get the house key out of the mailbox so I went to my mom's. Currently, I'm enjoying her foot massager after taking a cold shower because it's stupid hot and humid today. Seriously, any humidity is rare here and it's even less likely when our temps are triple digits and today we were hit with both.
I'm glad you're boss took your news well summergirl1211, that's awesome!
I was going to tell my boss at our 1:1 this week but I totally chickened out. I think I'm going to wait until after my AS unless I pop before then, because that's when we'll announce to others. But mostly because I'm a coward and it'll be 1 day before his 2 week vacation. My news will not be well received...
That's frustrating that your boss won't take it well bazinga hopefully it goes better than you think it will though.
thelittleredm foot massages are amazing, so I hope you are enjoying the hell out of it.
I'm heading out to the lake right now for the weekend, and service is terrible out there so I'm not sure when I'll be able to check in again, but I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

bazinga, hope your boss reacts better than expected!
In other news, I want to punch DH in the balls right now. He came home in an ok mood. DS starts hacking at his trains with his toy broom. After asking him to stop I said something like "I have no idea where he gets those ideas from", meaning, the idea to chop up his trains like a lumberjack. DH gets all huffy and puffy about it, assuming I am making some comment about his temper because he occasionally gets frustrated and yells at inanimate objects. I absolutely was not making any passive aggressive comment. He then refused to come run errands with us, hung up on me when I called him, and, when we got home, he retreated upstairs and hasn't come down since.
WHAT THE FUCK. You can't just runaway, avoid your responsibilities, and hide when you are in a bad mood. Seriously, what the fuck. I am an incredibly patient and understanding person. I rarely get angry and I let a lot of stuff go but I am PISSED right now. He is acting like a giant ass child. End of rant.
I have two golabkis and a side of haluski for breakfast. We came home with an iced pound cake. Plus the waffle ice cream sandwiches....lets just say I'm glad my appointment was the other day and not this upcoming week!
DS suspiciously inspecting the delicious monstrosity that is the waffle ice cream sandwich. *poof*
Today officially starts my transition to days and joining the land of the living. DH came in and woke me up after 4 hours of sleep this morning because he needed to leave for his dentist appointment and I had to be up to take care of DS. I contemplated napping with DS when he went down for his afternoon nap but I couldn't get back to sleep. And I started my 24-hr urine catch this afternoon so I can get it to the lab at the hospital this weekend (it's open 24 hours).
Thanks lakegirl. Also, that waffle ice cream sandwich? I want one. Looks amazing. Sounds like you guys had a great and delicious time!
Yesssss. They toast the waffles so it's the perfect combination of warm and cold. I look forward to this event every summer. It did not disappoint and was even more glorious due to my pregnant state. Only 364 days until the next one. Sighs.
