I'm feeling very silly for calling the nurse line this afternoon. It's been drilled into my head that decreasing insulin needs are a huge warning sign - I think I'm seeing patterns where there are none. Feeling kind of embarrassed and not sure how to slow my brain down about this stuff.
Always better safe than sorry, and that's what they're paid for. Don't feel silly.
We went to TJ's and stocked up on all kinds of easy to eat food and snacks. I still have nothing packed, but I'm a last minute kind of person! I'm trying to mentally be ready for 4 more weeks, but I just don't wanna!

Thanks bocaburger. Sometimes it's hard to tell what's a real warning sign and what's not - when I'm warned all the time...! I guess it just means I'm paying attention?

I haven't heard this (and am not on insulin), but my glucose numbers have been suddenly & consistently down this week, so let me fret with you What can that be a warning sign of? (My monitor broke just over a week ago & I chalked up the lower numbers to a difference in the replacement they sent.) I hope you get good news from the nurse line. I'm glad you called, even if you feel silly about it.

katelm, I would imagine it lost scent over time. With ds1, my freebie bag from bru had coupons that had expired over a year prior, so obviously some of the things aren't brand new! I am pretty sensitive to scents but neither kind bother me. With the newborn boxes, you're only getting 8 less diapers, so it's not a big price difference. Once you get to bigger sizes it may make more of a difference, but that's not even a days worth at the newborn point!
I am bouncing on my yoga ball in nothing but a sports bra. It is....attractive. honestly I don't know how DH keeps his hands off of me these days....
LOL none of my shirts cover my belly anymore, pants are too constrictive, and my crotch hurts. So I spend most of my time on the couch with no pants, half my belly hanging out (the half with stretch marks), and an ice pack between my legs. I am the sexiest.

I think this kid has a hand by his face. We know he is head down, and I am carrying super low. I feel a lot of weird movement in my pelvis right now so I'm thinking he has to be waving or something. Ds1 was always so high I never felt anything down there!

I don't know if it applies only to people with D or GD who are on insulin - but what the nurses tell me it could be a sign of an aging placenta. Normally you expect it to be harder to manage blood sugar, increasingly throughout pregnancy - so if there is a sudden change, it could be an indication that the placenta is slowing down.
How much lower are your numbers?
Don't let that make you nervous, it really could be only applicable for insulin use!!

Btw @dorkysmalorkus the nurse said it didn't sound like an emergency, especially since I feel normal movement. I'm just supposed to call my endocrinologist in the am and check with her.
I guess if there's sudden insulin changes and decreased fetal movement, that's when they take steps.
Sounds like you guys had positive experiences with your kids in the hospital to meet the new ones. I can't even really articulate why the idea of her coming makes me nervous. I think part of it is the idea that, like some of you, I worry that she might be needing my SO more than I will... but I really really want him there with me. I was in the hospital 2 and a half days last time, I just really wish I had the confidence that our kid-watchers were really available for us in the circumstance of a longer labor. SO asked if I didn't think DD deserved to meet the new one, but that wasn't my thought at all! Of course she does. Oh, she is 2 (27 months at due date), for the record.

By 37w with DS1 the only thing I could stand wearing was a bathrobe. With DS2 it was January so I was wearing my DH's pajamas

I repeatedly saw graphs and comments to the effect that in the last few weeks the mother's insulin needs actually level off a little, both from insulin users and diet controlled women. I am eagerly awaiting that.
But never feel silly about calling with a legitimate concern. My OB's office sees 80 people a day but they all recognize me because I am so paranoid. They just love me more.

hannahbear Thanks for that! I won't panic, but will ask about it after my BPP/growth scan tomorrow! The highest number I've had this week/since the new monitor is 118. Typically I'll get a few readings above 120 in a week, and then maybe 1 or two that are more like 140 or so.
Fingers crossed you get reassurance from the nurse line!

gratefulgirl Yeah--with my glucose numbers running a little low, I've been doing such crazy things as eating an entire peach or plum with my breakfast, rather than my standard 4 strawberries. I'm wild! (I mock, but my god, eating an entire piece of in-season fresh fruit is pretty amazing at this point.)

Fruit has been upsetting my stomach recently, especially bananas. I was trying to eat healthier foods but it is really not sitting well. I'm sad because H made me a tasty smoothie and I can't drink it.

gratefulgirl that's interesting! Perhaps another example of the nurses over warning me about risks. Maybe instead of leveling off, it's more about big decreases.

I found a woman sharing her experience (and her doctor told her to expect it) lowering her insulin dose last week, but I couldn't tell you where. I was Googling stuff like "when do insulin needs level off pregnancy."
As I suspected, my SMIL and her family had a not do surprise shower for me. Baby boy has an awesome stroller, infant car seat with an extra base, clothes in NB, 0-3, 6 and 12 month sizes plus books and boy toys. I also received at least two weeks of freezesble, healthy GF meals. I'm overwhelmed by their generosity. Baby N will be surrounded by so much love that it makes me a teary wreck.

Got my pre baby Brazilian today. I tipped extra because it has uh been a while since anyone has done and grooming down there. You're welcome for those details:)
Ha! I'm trying to figure out when to schedule mine. It's just so easy to avoid the current situation because my belly blocks my view! I'm nervous because if I get any ingrowns I won't be able to see.

I want to go to TJs to stock up on wine!
It was soo tempting, but I totally feel judged buying booze at this point.

I ordered wine for H at a wedding this weekend. The bar tender gave me a weird look. I gave him my best F off face.
I don't know what is wrong with me. Past pregnancies I've enjoyed working late in pregnancy to keep me busy. I'm so freaking over working. Like zero interest. I have so much to do but want baby to be here just so I can be done working! I mean not really but kinda.
Also, gave H his paternity leave to do list today:)

I ..uh.. played Beer Pong the other day. It was at work during Happy Hour. No, I wasn't drinking the beer, but I still felt SO weird about it and actually asked the PR people taking pictures to crop me out of them. They laughed - I think I was the only one who felt weird about it. Everyone else found it funny.
I guess I'm saying that maybe we're harder on ourselves than the majority of people watching.
But, then again, perhaps not. I mean, we've all had our share of comments.
It doesn't help my 3 year old tells people I drink wine (alcohol removed) and beer (root beer) all the time
My 4 year old used to ask for beer when she was 3. She meant root beer.
Although she's had licks off of DH's pinky of beer and asked for more, she never gets more. We thought it would discourage her from asking if we gave her a taste.

I can remember climbing into my dad's lap to say goodnight when I was 5-6. I would always ask for a sip of his beer, which my parents would say yes to. They would laugh so hard when I only tasted foam, made a wretched face, and declared beer awful. It never seemed to stop me from asking again... haha.
