A couple of weeks ago my dad had an angiogram and it was determined that he has 6 7 blockages to his heart and needs a bypass. So he went on the 6 - 8 week waiting list. Well yesterday he had a very mild heart attack and was admitted to the cardiac ward. The good news is that now he'll be farther up the list, though not at the top. They'll keep him in the hospital until his surgery, which will be in a week and a half or so. It's kind of the ideal situation - a heart attack that doesn't cause any (or much) heart damage, but gets him bumped up the list. I saw him today and he was in pretty good spirits, he even said the food wasn't awful!
Please send any thoughts and prayers that you can spare that he keeps his cheerful outlook, that he doesn't have another "event" (as they called it) and that the surgery goes well.
