I participate in the weekly check-in on the confidential board but I'm not sure people would be as comfortable sharing on the main board.
We can do other threads. Like weekly inspirations or maybe Feel Good Friday (making this up) where we post about something positive that happened during the week or even just a positive picture.
What about something like gratitude project, where you post 3 things you are grateful for each day? Or even randoms. I feel like I can't post on main board unless I have specific issues that need answered. I participate in insomnia thread but that's usually pretty quiet. I think threads that people can participate on a daily basis would be great for rejuvenating this board.
I'm totally for positive threads and don't mean to be a downer but maybe a weekly thread to used to "vent." I know most boards have these threads but I'm talking more mental health specific. For example, when someone makes a triggering comment to me about my weight it would be nice to vent here rather than on my home board because that's awkward and I don't always want to seem like an AW mentioning my ED. It's uncomfortable. It could be 1 thread for the week that we comment in. Similiar to a check in but I guess updated more frequently? Just a place we can discuss more symptom specific thoughts/experiences.
Eta I feel like many people intro and that's it. Or check in once a week. But what about when we need support another time? I'm sure some people don't always want to create their own thread for that.
I agree, a weekly vent thread wpuld be nice too. I think it's hard for a lot of people to start a "negative" thread even on a supportive forum like this. If there's already a weekly thread for it, it may be helpful for people to get things off their chest without worrying whether they are being Debbie downers.

yoshijo28 What if it was more like a randoms thread so we could vent when triggered, or share positive experiences... but just have a safe space to say what we need in the moment without starting a new thread
These are all great ideas. I'm hoping to have some down time at work tomorrow night at work, so I will come up with some more ideas. Perhaps even make a poll to vote on ideas.
I volunteer to run a weekly thread if we need someone. I like the ideas here, and I think we need some positive threads, like gratitude, or obstacles we've overcome, as well as the more negative venting threads, given what this board is about.
Also maybe an intro thread we sticky? Just giving a brief background so we don't always have to explain it. I'm 50/50 on this idea because it may make people uncomfortable having that so public, but it is also beneficial for someone new to intro and feel more comfortable without starting a new thread. And it could help us keep track of what we are all dealing with.

That is a tough one because it would mean keeping a running list of everyone's info.

I don't mean somewhere to keep track of info. I meant just an intro thread like some boards have where new people say hi, can say their diagnosis if they want, and anything else. Just so they don't have to start their own thread if they're not comfortable and so we can have a reference thread so people don't have to keep repeating their stories

I meant people might not be comfortable with having a running list of diagnosis stickied. I had a feeling my wording was a little awkward.

Yup I totally understand that. I had that concern too
What we could do is an initial reintro thread and you would only have to list your diagnosis or full story when you join the thread. After a while, people tend to remember who you are, and sometimes you can figure a diagnosis just based on information provided.
I am down with this. I've been bad with keeping up but I like these suggestions so far!
Hi Ray! Haven't seen you here in a while!
Yeah... I've been doing better at life and worse at posting. Lol
I left my job in May (yay!!!!!) to go on disability for the last couple months of pregnancy which helped IMMENSELY with my anxiety. And I got transferred!!! So I never have to go back to that place again

Yes to check-in threads! I want to post more than my intro without having a specific question. Would love to get to know you guys better and be supportive.
