Work has been super busy. Yesterday not so much but jebus I have to pretend to be busy or else. Currently sitting in my car delaying the start of my day.

Good morning, littlelion! I randomly thought about you yesterday and wondered how you got out of the parking garage that day that you forgot your wallet.

Can I rant for a second? All of my ultrasounds since becoming PG have been covered by insurance at least 80%. However, yesterday, I got a GIANT FUCKING BILL EXPLANATION OF BENEFITS for my anatomy scan, which was done at the specialist. They covered the ultrasound, but not the doctor's fee. I am so confused. I need to call Cigna. I hate insurance.
I've generally been feeling soo great but was just reading through the 3rd Tri check-in on PAIF and now I'm starting to worry about what may be coming my way... We'll see I guess!
requiressnacks, I'm sorry about the bill! I am always worried about those things showing up just when you think everything was covered/paid for already. Hopefully your insurance can provide some clarification.

ugh requiressnacks that's so frustrating! ETA: You're looking fantastic as usual!
you look adorable, Winnifred ! And I was just lurking the 3rd tri check in for PAIF this morning, lol.
I have my monthly OB appointment in about 3 hours, so I'm kinda trying to keep busy until then. I'm curious to hear what's up next for me. (A/S, glucose test, etc) There are days that I feel like I'm so far along, but then I realize, OMG I still have like 5 more months. lol.
I'll try to sneak a pic at the DR today, since there are no full mirrors around me and I forgot to take one this morning. (oops)
IVF+ICSI March 2016 (6R/5M/5F - 3 embryos on ice) 4/7/16: first ever BFP! EDD: 12/17/16 DS Arrived via C-Section 12/19/16! FET #1 June 2019 - 1 embryo didn't survive thaw & the one that did didn't stick around. BFN FET #2 September 2019 - last embryo didn't survive thaw.
Aww thanks lastnamewithheld! I need to see your bump, too!! And I always feel like such a baby compared to people in the next check-in, I can't believe we'll be there in a few weeks!
Good morning, littlelion ! I randomly thought about you yesterday and wondered how you got out of the parking garage that day that you forgot your wallet.
Morning snacks! I had to fill out a form saying I'll pay within 10 days. The lady kept asking me for my ID, hello, no wallet. I go back every 3 wks so I'm just going to wait to pay then.

You rebel! I'm glad they let you out of the garage though.
I had to retire 2 of my summer dresses. They clung to my bump way too much. I need a couple more outfits to last me thru the summer. And they'll have to be actual maternity wear.

Shoot! DH left for a work trip this AM and that totally threw off my morning schedule so I forgot about HDBD. I'll take and upload one when I get home or tomorrow AM. Maybe tomorrow so you guys don't have to see my same black skirt again.
requiressnacks, our stupid insurance was refusing to pay my bills because every year apparently (this is our first year with them) they default your account to "refuse to pay bills until they call and confirm they don't have any other insurance." Um yeah. We don't have any other medical insurance so please pay it. They are going to do it now but I was worried about my lab bills going into collections while that mess got sorted!
Had a doctor's appointment this AM and saw baby girl wiggling around a bit. Yay! 2.5 weeks until anatomy scan/20 weeks exactly. Booked DS's birthday party last night at a slightly less expensive place, which is kinda like saving money and I can spend that on baby clothes riiiiiight?

everyone's bumps are so cute! I'm fairly fluffy to begin with, but I think the rearrangement of my stomach fat is beginning to possibly resemble a bump, so maybe I will play today! My office has a full length mirror in the bathroom.
requiressnacks, insurance does suck. I am very fortunate that I have a fairly decent plan with what I consider a low deductible and low out of pocket max, with the 90/10 coverage/coinsurance, but never in my life have I ever been more confused about how they cover things.
I got a bill for my first ultrasound, and had to pay about 1/3 of it and it went towards my deductible (which took care of about half the deductible). The NT scan was also covered, cost THE EXACT SAME before insurance kicked in, and somehow cost only like $20, and didn't go towards the deductible? Bizarre.
requiressnacks , was the specialist out of network? Man, that sucks... I hope you can get it figured out. Last year, we had a high deductible plan so we owed $4,500 OOP for having G, and we had met our ded & oop the year before too from having our m/c so we still owe the hospital like $5,000 almost. Luckily, our insurance is much better this time and we should have minimal OOP expense.
Here I am at almost 19 weeks. Quick appointment this morning for a blood test to combine with the anatomy scan earlier this week. Our OB bills are already paid, but I have no idea what the anatomy scan and other lab tests will run. Still haven't seen anything from out NT scan.

hmr11913, I think the doc was in-network, but I'm wondering if I got dinged because they are a specialist. I've only received the explanation of benefits from Cigna, so I'm going to wait until I get my actual bill to call. Insurance is so confusing!
ugh requiressnacks that sucks! I have Cigna too. Is the doctor out of network? Last year at one of my HSGs the procedure was covered, but the doctor at the hospital that did it was out of network and I had to pay his whole freaking fee because my out of network deductible hadn't been met. When I complained to the hospital they were all like "it's the patient's responsibility to research who is in network ahead of time." Like I had any idea who the doctor doing the HSG was going to be. I was so annoyed. Maybe if they are in-network you can work it out with them.
requiressnacks , I don't even look at the explanation of benefits anymore! There were SO many times during our IF treatment that I would pay my bill in the office and then receive the explanation which always appeared that I was going to owe additional $. The bills never came. Try not to worry about it just yet!
-------------------------------------------
Since we're all talking insurance and I really don't want to sit on the phone forever calling my insurance company (again).... can those of you who've had a baby before explain to me how the deductible works when you add the baby to insurance after delivery? My deductible is $2K and will be $4K if we add baby to my plan. Will I be responsible for up to $4K of my delivery fees? Or just the $2K?
I called insurance about this last week and they at first told me no... then they said yes. I submitted a message online and no one has responded yet. Certainly this can't be the first time anyone has asked this question. And just to make matters more confusing, I think I actually have to pay my OB's office the $2K deductible by week 30... I'm so confused and I just want to figure our which insurance plan we should place her on...
Cute bumps everybody!! Like fikafairy67 , I think my fluff has rearranged enough to resemble a bump so I'll play finally.
17+2 weeks
requiressnacks, Sucks that you are getting such a big bill for your anatomy scan.
I was surprised by a big bill for the NIPT testing, but it ended up being that nothing had gone against our in-network deductible for the year so far (RE copays didn't count, I paid plenty of those), so the testing ate our deductible all at once.

Winnifred , here's how it worked when we had DS - Any delivery fees, room and board for me, medications, anethesia, etc, got billed to my individual deductible. Pediatrician visit, nursery fees, circumcision for DS, etc., got applied to the family deductible AFTER he got added to the insurance in his own name. Most insurances have an individual deductible for the policy holder, and a family deductible for everyone else. Some insurances also have an out-of-pocket max for both individual and family - mine does this since it has a 10% coinsurance until the OOP max is reached.
I have a $300 individual deductible and $1.5K OOP max, and a $490 family deductible with a $2.5K OOP max. Anything that is for me is also applied to the family deductible. I will have to meet the OOP max for things to be covered 100% in-network. The most I will pay for both me AND this LO is what's left of the $2.5K OOP max for the family (DS had an overnight hospital stay for a bad stomach flu that met the deductible and a good chunk of the OOP max).
Hopefully that helps - I was on the phone with my insurance company for a LONG time and asked all of these questions, since I know I'll be facing lots and lots of medical procedures/scans with this LO due to the anemia risk.
Edited to add: I had different insurance when we had DS (much higher deductible, much higher OOP max, under DH's plan since I had no access at the time) than we do now. So we paid more OOP at that time than we will have to put out now, but the basic way the costs were applied was the same.

Okay...had to get to a computer to write out comments to people...phone is not fun with doing that.
requiressnacks, OH insurance what a crock sometimes. I called and made sure that they were going to cover all my US and the dr's. I learned the first time I was pregnant I had to switch OBGYN at 32weeks preggers cause I realized the hospital we were delivering at the whole damn NICU which was run by an outside practice was not covered under our insurance. IN the event DD would of had issues it all would of been on us. So we moved to a hospital that included those drs as well. OH side note you look lovely...and I am toooootally judging that thing you call a "room". JK
kaydee0402, I WAS JUST about to put up a post just asking about you. I feel like you have been MIA for awhile. I am not a stalker, well you know in the find you type of level, lol. BUT I was just worried, sorry to hear your so busy.
Winnifred, lol oh 3rd trimesters are a lil different for everyone. I would just keep an open mind, you make it through everything in the end. I mean you get a baby at the end...what could be better.
lastnamewithheld, I am assuming you are at your Dr. appt right now...or leaving for it? I hope it goes well and I was just curious do you have like written out questions for your Dr? Are you that one? LOL...totally not hating I was that one. lol
@kc295905, UGH you wear your bump so well...great pic..you look so carefree. LIKE I have no symptoms and I look good all the time, fairy tale pregnancy. lol Love that dress.
legalbeagle, AND I missed where DS's bday was. We don't judge here at all...its not like we would TELL YOU we realized that you wore the same Tshirt every HDBD. lol
fikafairy67, ANNNNDD waiting patiently...*jeopardy music* Or we waiting for a time when someone is not in there trying to figure out what you are doing...lol
hmr11913, and your pic won't load...so I am just going to say its probably awesome. You look great! I am physic (is that how you spell that...I am blanking)
mrsp121308, love your bump and that picture on your wall is amazing. I see we have an artist in the family. Can't wait till my lil one brings home drawings.
lola, TOTALLY NOT trying to be all in your business but everytime I see your fireplace...I just get this whole picture in my head of camera scanning up and to the left and british man saying "And this is the life of the Rich and Famous" lol
