Anyone wants to fill us in on whats going on in your world? Anyone start thinking about 3rd birthdays (OMG when did that happen?!!) How are the siblings doing?
We've been super busy trying to soak all of summer fun in before we're couped up all winter again, ugh! This is a fun age (I say that at every age) watching them explore, using their imagination and just playing differently then past summers. Although toddlers are exhausting I am filled with so much joy just watching DD learn and am envious of her innocence in this crazy world.
DD loves playing in her little pool, water table, and sandbox. She literally spends hours just keeping herself occupied and it's so nice to have some (mostly) uninterrupted time with her baby brother while I keep an eye on her. We haven't gone on any camping trips like we normally like to do (DD has been awful at bedtime and the last time we were at a hotel it was a nightmare) and I'm really missing that! DS has been such an easy going, mellow baby and it's been such a blessing! He will already be 6 months on Aug 9th!
I asked DD what kind of theme she'd like for her party and she replied with "chocolate" haha. I like your thinking kid! It will be held down at the family camp like years past and maybe have a Disney Princess theme since I discovered our dollar store has a ton of decorations for that or rainbow since she said she'd like that (not sure how to pull that off).
jnetx right I'd seriously be in heaven!! We do have one, I'll have to check it out! I think rainbow would be a cute theme, DH on the other hand doesn't really like that :/ I will have to think of a way to sway him.
Hey everyone! jnetx our little ones are SO close! DS will be 1 next Saturday (the 31st) and DD will be 3 Aug 30 so I'm also in heavy party planning mode. We're keeping DS's first pretty low key. Doing the same thing we did for DD's first which is a big family get together in the private room of a restaurant we love. I'll decorate the room and it'll be a good time. For DD we are planning a cowgirl/horse themed party at the family ranch. I'm excited but nervous about that because the decorations are a little harder to find but worst case scenario, I'll just put some pink decorations out and let the ranch set the theme lol.
We are leaving on a mini vacation on DD's bday which will be our first vacation in 2 years! We're going to Galveston to let DS have his first beach experience! Hopefully the bacteria issue will be resolved by the !
I think DD#1 was just informed she is about to be a threenage, because she has started acting like it. She told DH yesterday "don't tell me that" and orders us around.
DD1 is doing well -not looking forward to three though lol she has a temper which usually comes out when refusing bedtime which is not fun. Usually involves yelling, kicking and throwing toys or whatever is around her -tons of fun. But other than the temper, she is a lot of fun. We just got potty training handled ( not nighttime though) and have started moving her out of our bed and into her big girl bed - 3 successful nights so far. LOVES her baby sister, duplos, the iPad and Peppa Pig. We will probably do a simple Peppa Pig party - no pintrest this year and I'm hoping the local Party City has all the party stuff I want.
DD2 is 10 weeks and starting daycare tomorrow we haven't been super successful with bottles so I'm really hoping th she takes them tomorrow. The second one was suppose to be easier to drop off but this is treading me out she also seems to have a diary intolerance, so I just cut that out of my diet and I'm really hoping that's the answer and I dont need to cut out soy as well. It's fun having a baby around again - I can't wait for about one more month when she becomes alittle more interactive with toys and things.
Yup, DD is a total threenager too, complete with all of the emotions. Still, she's a lot of fun most of the time. DS will be 1 in less than a month, which is hard to believe. He still doesn't sleep, which is tough. We're doing a joint party for their birthdays, with about 40 people, mostly family. It'll be at our house, with a cookout. DD has asked for Tinkerbell, so I'm going with that. Colorful tablecloths, balloons, fresh flowers on the tables, flower crowns for the couple little girls.
I'll have a more boyish cake and highchair decorations for Henry though. DH picked lumberjack for it, so...

Just seeing this! We've had a busy summer, camping, swimming, and trying to spend as much time as possible outdoors.
I also have a pre-threenager here. Holy moly... the temper and lack of patience! She's pretty hilarious these days though, and starting to become really sweet and helpful with DD2. Still very resistent to potty training. At least her sister wears the same size diapers!
DD2 is 13 months and I love this age so much. She's still my little baby, but with so much toddler personality.
I tried to figure out DD1's favourite thing in life when begining to plan her birthday party... so ice cream themed it is. We are going to have a toppings bar and each kid will get to create their own dessert. I'm certain the parents will hate me.

Hi everybody! Just saw this today as we have been away on our yearly trip up to the Adirondacks with no cell reception. Glad to hear everyone's almost 3 year olds are well (and their siblings! So many siblings!)
(Left is big sis, right is not-so-little little sis)
I can't Believe I'm going to have a 3 year old soon! Time goes by so fast. She is loving asking "why" 8,000 times a day, but thankfully does not seem to be a threenager. She loves to make up her own songs, is doing very well in swim class and plays well with baby sis. Still no potty training at all here, but we are keeping on it.
Little sis turned 1 in April and is hilarious. She's just starting to say words, eats like a vacuum cleaner by the fistful and yells at the top of her lungs if big sis gets something she doesn't. (Juice box, ice cream, etc.) We thought her hip dysplasia had resolved but her hips are not improving as quickly as they should, so she's back in a brace at nighttime for another 8 months. Thankfully she has still been sleeping well.
Remember I said we were set with two kids? Well my iud was taken out two weeks ago and while we haven't TTC yet, it's most likely in our future. If we don't think financially or about logistics it's a no brainer, but both of us toggle back and forth weekly. One way or another we will finalize things next year when my H gets a vasectomy just before the Masters (so he can sit on the couch all weekend to watch it! Haha)

How is my big boy almost 3?!?! He is definitely in the *threenager* stage. Other than being a little boy with a big attitude at times he is great! He is still not wanting to potty train however, I hope soon we have a break through. This last week was the first time he ever pooped on the potty but Monday came and daddy had to go back to work and now he refuses to use the potty at all.
DS2 he turned 10 months on the 24th he is crawling everywhere and is starting to pull up. He loves to play with his brothers shoes and anything else his brother is playing. He can say dada, mama, bubba, bye, and hey. He has 6 teeth that I have seen.
As for birthday party since they are only 2 weeks apart we are thinking we will just have one at a local park.
I'm thinking about taking a position at a local daycare where if I do the boys will be attending for free. Which is nice because it would give them both kids their age to play with that are their ages. I'm kind of nervous about it because I have been a stay at home mom since I was pregnant with DS1.
