Hiiiiiii everyone! So the move went fairly well besides the fact that apparently I'm highly allergic to the desert in rainy season soooo that's fun. We left SC last Friday evening (side note it took our fracking movers ELEVEN HOURS to load up a 2 bedroom apartment and I'm still pissed), drove til Monday, got to NM and stayed with FIL til Thurs, closed on our house yesterday and now we're just chilling in a hotel til we can get our keys Monday. We found a fridge today, just got to go back and buy it tomorrow and a sofa/chair set. Evie slept or played contentedly for 97% of the whole trip. She only got fussy every day about 20 minutes before we were about to stop anyways. Our cats were kind enough to puke into their litter box. So all in all, a decent trip.
Oh. It's been 117 the past few days. It was still 101 at 1am two nights ago. It's 106 out now and it's 9:30pm. It's like an oven blasting you in the face. Holy fuck. Welcome to Arizona. Gah.
Up before 5:30. Again. C likes to rip the monitor off its perch and play with it. After I punched H to stop snoring +and for snoring so loud he woke me up) I hear C rip the monitor down. I of course get up give him a bottle and he pretends to go back to sleep. I put him back and by the time I am in our room he's ripped it down again. H laughs. (How dare he) and I was all huffy, if you find it funny get your ass outta bed. I've been up before 5:30 the past 3 days and will be for the rest of the week. Ass. And walked back out.
He's up but it's too late, I'm already up. I'm a little grumpy in the morning, before coffee and when I don't sleep well.
As for me, both kids slept until after 7! DS is still in bed but starting to wake up now. I like their differences - DD is a 0-100 all the energy when she wakes up. DS slowly wakes up and chats and plays and then calls for us when he's ready. DS is more my style lol.
Woke up to find out the volume on the monitor was off. Oops. M was up at 2 and H got up with him, so I got up at 7. Luckily M has a billion new toys to distract him! We have his 1 year pictures this afternoon, other than that I'm just tagging things for a consignment sale drop off tomorrow night.
kaeguri, yay, glad you made it! And that E is such a rock star traveler! I'm honestly a little jealous about that because my kids are not great with long car rides. I'm a little concerned that you're allergic to your new city, though. That sucks
kaeguri I'm glad you guys made it safely. Have fun settling into the Nye house.
th3stryck3r we loved Stranger Things. Episode 6 is really where it gets crazy. joi922 it really is good, watch it! Wynona Ryder did a great job in it I thought.
What a busy weekend. I haven't had a chance to catch up here at all, and probably won't until later, but guys, I have a 1 year old. Where the last year went, I have no clue, but it sure has been a crazy one. The party was great. Small, but with the people that mattered most. I still have to go through all the pics and edit them but here are 2.
kaeguri so glad you all arrived safely! And that's great that E was so content for such long travel and disrupted routines! GL with the rest of the move this week and hopefully the movers don't take as long unpacking as they did to pack! I hope you have ac at your house! That sounds hotter than hot.

@janetheconquerer sorry for the bad mood. I would be crusty too if DH pulled that. Oh wait I mean I get crusty when he does pull that! We do try to take turns with the reality early morning wake ups, but that doesn't always happen.

M has been doing pretty good with his sleep and last night slept thru until 6, had a bottle and fell back to sleep until about 8 (he did go to bed later than usual). I'm sure all the fresh air has helped!
I'm hoping to get one more picture of him done for his invitations and then order them for his bday party. We are still undecided on who to invite. Was just going to be family because of the recent adoption party, but my friends were asking yesterday what our plans were. So we might open it up for another drop in.
One of my BFF's moves tomorrow (2.5 hours away ). So we are going out tonight for dinner and drinks. I have so many feels about it all...excited for her, sad for me.

redandblue that sucks your BFF is moving away. On the bright side 2.5 hours is still possible for visiting and planning a day together somewhere. I used to live 2 hr (without traffic) from work so maybe I'm biased

I keep telling myself that we will now get quality time if not the quantity. We are going to miss her son terribly. With her being a single parent, we have him at our house a lot. The bonus is that she is moving near the beach, so lots to do when we visit!
The idea of living 2hr away from work makes me feel nauseous! I would not handle a commute like that every day!

joi922, yes, watch Stranger Things! Winona Ryder is great in it, and it perfectly captures the mood of every good childhood 80's movie— it's like what I thought that JJ Abrams movie, Super 8, would do, but Super 8 fell short. This delivers. I'm really into it so far.
