Ugh...how did it get here so fast?
Baby slept well, only woke at 5 to eat. I can hear her now getting up for the day.
DH decided to book a quick weekend away halfway between us in Pittsburgh and SIL in Milwaukee. So, we'll be staying in Angola, Indiana (Lake George) Anyone familiar? Have tips/ places to see? I'm kind of excited to just go to some random place...should be interesting

Hi everyone- C still likes to nurse but he is also insanely curious and interested in solid foods. He has started to have a little decrease in milk at daycare in favor of eating solids. I feel you sunfrogger88, because not that he is showing signs of weaning, but I just want to make sure he is getting all the nutrition he needs from BM first.
Morning! We had a rough night - and ended up sleeping in the chair from midnight on. F just would not settle. I couldn't tell if it was teething pain, gas issues or what. I guess I'll try going dairy free again and see if we get any better sleep. DH keeps suggesting I give up caffeine but there has been absolutely no correlation between days I have more (2 cups instead of 1) and bad sleep so I told him to shut up.

yummeecookee she is all about the solids! But like you, I want to make sure she's nursing enough too. I'm sure it's a strike. Blah. Wish I was home today with her to sort it out.

Morning all! I fell asleep at 7 last night (to be fair that's still 10 my time) but woke up at 6 so I still got one hell of a sleep! Apparently baby was really tired too because she fell asleep just before me and woke up just after me!
Today is a day off from houses. We have 3 on our list of contenders. One detached house that needs next to no work but is at the top of our price range. Minimal return potential on resale since there's not a lot to change. A duplex unit which is well within our price range so we can make our own mods and updates (also minimally needed) but also has minimal return on resale for the same reasons as above. And finally a huge house on a huge lot that is basically one step up from foreclosure. The people totally let it go and are clearly hoarders but the price is fair for its condition, we'd be able to take out more money to get a contractor for major immediate repairs and then DH can put away at cosmetic stuff. There is a house half the size on the street in proper condition selling for 70,000 more which is a HUGE appeal to us as far as resale potential. We're taking FIL through for a look at it. He's not an inspector but he's done a lot of house work like this that may tell us to back away before we get too excited about it. We just have to decide if we want this big project but it's hard when you can see the potential from the bones of the house. Lots to consider.

I kept thinking yesterday was Saturday. I'm not ready for Monday so I'm looking up ice pop recipes on pinterest for my new ice pop molds instead of doing work!

Ugh - we just got a notice from C's DC that there was a case of HFM in the infant room. They have 4 infant rooms, but for privacy reasons they never will specify which room the child was in (plus you know they shuffle them around in the morning and late afternoons during drop offs/pickups). I am really praying C does not get it!

i'm so paranoid about HFM and we don't even go to DC. Every time there is even the tiniest spot on F's foot or face I'm all worried he is getting it.

I'm probably the weirdo but while in the middle of HFM sucks balls, once they get it, they don't usually get it again (or so I've been told) so I kinda would rather have K get it now than say a year from now when he's onto only solids and a liquid diet won't really suffice. I'll probably eat my words though since we definitely got it easy with our daughter and K is the opposite in everything...

K had his 9m appt on Friday and the doc felt around in his mouth and was like "oh wow he's working on at least 4 teeth huh?" yep...now if only ONE of them would break through the gumline. I actually went and got teething wafers at the store today because a friend said it helped her daughter's teeth break through. I'll do just about anything at this point because waking up every hour for the last week and also having to go work is ridiculous....top it off with sick kids I need a break.

I read this as "I'm paranoid so we don't go"
I was like dammmnnn I wish I could just opt out of DC bc of paranoia lol.

Not much to report here. Took E by the DC to let them know when we're coming back, and they all just fawned all over her. We also talked about solids, and DHS here won't allow babies under 1 year to have solids other than the puffs and rice cracker type things, so I guess she'll be getting a lot of yogurt and mashed up things. They said mashed banana or peaches or other soft fruits like that would be fine. Guess I'll just make sure she gets a good variety at home and send those things. It's just one meal. Baby girl can have breakfast for lunch
