Too much fun + not enough naps = a craaaaaabby toddler on Monday morning. So far he's cried because he ate all the grapes, I wouldn't let him play in the basement, and because he walked into a wall while crying about the basement. Headed to story time in a bit and tackling the laundry mountain that's taking over the house. Hot coffee (or iced if it's a billion degrees like it is here) and happy toddlers to you all!
I'm in the homestretch now ladies! Bar exam is tomorrow and Wednesday, so this morning I'm packing and reviewing flash cards, and then I'll leave around lunch time to drive down to the hotel where I'm staying the next two nights. I sobbed this morning saying goodbye to LO
I do not necessarily feel that I have adequately prepared for this test but there's no going back now, and I'm really just looking forward to putting it behind me.

ashlantic ahh, hope he perks up for you and have fun at storytime!! B doesn't have the missing naps excuse but he's still on the moody train. He was crying because I told him to (also showed him how/offered to help him) get a ball that rolled under his table, but apparently he wanted servant mommy to just get it for him lol. Then after like five min he just crawled under and got it anyway.
We have storytime this morning too, but Mh has the car (he's been working Craaazzzyy hours for this freelance job!) and the walk is about a mile each way. Actually a nice walk if it wasn't one million degrees out with no shade on the sidewalks and during the hottest time of day. I will probably suck it up and go. Last time I did that I got to the library and was disgustingly sweaty, but we'll be away next week sooo I want him to be able to go. Man do I ramble, sorry! Hope everyone has a good day!
dashook, good luck!! Hubby left this morning for Georgia, he will be gone until Friday... I am kinda excited for it to be just me and LO but I am sure I am going to be ready by Friday for him to come home... I was already ready to pack him in hubby's suitcase last night and send him with him...he was being super crazy last night...granted it was a late night but he had 2 naps yesterday...he would unpacked the suitcase 3 times finally I told hubby to stay with the suitcase and I would round up all the stuff... I can't believe we are down to 10 days before closing... I have soooooo much packing to do still... I did sneak home yesterday from work for a couple of hours to pack some more, but there is still a ton left... I have so much paperwork to do today at work so I will try and check in later... Have a great Monday!
reginaphalange3, ughh the heat makes everything a challenge. Have fun at storytime if you do go! babyw15, GL with the packing and closing stuff--sounds like madness!

I have an incredibly disgruntled toddler over here. Ugh. She's mad cuz she's hungry. But then I give her food and she throws it all at the dog. Then she's made that the dog ate her food.
And her 18 month appt is today.... Should be a blast.

I think Leo was happy to be at DC this morning, had enough of us inside the house. Although, he did cry when we drove off and left daddy behind. DH got switched to 2nd shift temporarily (2-3 mo!). I am not happy.
Some of the cute things Leo is doing these days:
-Points at my owies and makes a crying face (and sometimes does that with my moles or vaccination scar too) -Walks around with his hands in his pant pockets -Wants to give me sloppy kisses on my mouth even when I try to give my cheek. Prob cause he sees DH kiss me on the mouth? -Brings me all his books, alphabet puzzles, and flash cards to read to him over and over.
The other bebe is acting up lately. I get this weird tightening on my left side, I can even feel it hard there. And my nausea came back this weekend making me gag so much...I'm like do it already or move on! And my left hip/back hurts...maybe sciatic nerve. It sucks. I wanted to stay home today.

We are going through a similar phase. In fact:
She thought Buddha was hungry so she shares her pouch.
dashook you got this! Good luck! reginaphalange3 I cracked up at "servant mommy" because ain't that the truth! Lo is sooo bossy when he wants more food. If I take longer than .2 seconds to get it to him he gets pissed. I've actually been making him wait and saying things like "I hear you asking for more cheese, I'll get it for you when I'm done folding these shirts." Because I love you child, but the universe does not revolve around you. Lol Did you make it to storytime? babyw15 good luck solo parenting and packing! So exciting that the move is so close. ourcrazynavylife what is with these crabby toddlers today?? How did her 18 month appt go? littlelion I had the worst sciatic pain when I was pregnant. A sciatic stretch we do in yoga helped out a ton- while standing cross one leg in front of the other so the outsides of your feet are touching (does that make sense? I can take a picture if I'm not explaining it well enough.) and then fold over your legs as far as you can. Repeat with the other leg crossed in front. You can do it sitting with your legs straight out in front of you too. Leo is the cutest! raven how did you not laugh at that??
Storytime turned out far better than I anticipated! He participated and played nice with the other babies. He got to pick a book for completing all of his summer reading activities. We've been keeping a log of the books we've read together and we've read over a hundred different books 2 months! That's not even counting the multiple times we probably read each book. Little bookworm. I'm excited for the new programming the library will have in the fall. Baby/kid yoga once a month, toddler sensory play days and storytime.

BabyStandish loved your basketball pictures, you totally need to take a then and now pic when he is older! babyw15 GL finishing packing and getting everything done!! Any must see/do tips for me for one day in the magic kingdom? It will be 4 adults and B. ourcrazynavylife sorry for grumpy toddler, hope her appointment goes well littlelion ugh that stinks about Yh's work schedule. I've been thinking B is probably missing his babysitter and the other kids there. Oh well, it's already the end of July so he'll be back there before we know it! Love your cute stories and hope you're feeling better soon! raven oh man! At least she wanted to share? kcrus hope your recovery is going smoothly and your LO is feeling better! ashlantic glad storytime went well for you!! Yes, I've been making B wait for things and it usually involves screaming haha. We did make it to storytime although I was so sweaty. I left him with my friend to run to the bathroom and try to wipe off some of the sweat haha. I hope I didn't smell but I looked pretty rough lol oh well.

Em's appt went well. I updated the 18 month appt thread.
But Ugghhhhhhh
I'm so annoyed with our friggin contractors right now. It's just a bunch of little stuff adding up. It's making me not want to rate them well on Yelp.
First off they painted our brick fireplace white. Which was never supposed to be done. Was never even discussed.
Now they've said one of our light fixtures is cracked which I know they did on installation because I inspected them before dropping them off. So now I'm having to call customer service for Lowes to try and get a replacement fixture.
Then they installed some knobs where there should've been drawer pulls in our new kitchen. Which is obviously not fixable because they just drilled fucking holes in the cabinets.
And our brand new marble countertop is covered in scratches.

Hey ladies. The weekend was long and hot. It looks like the heat is finally breaking now and we'll be back to more normal (high 80s low 90s) temps tomorrow onwards. Emily's naps seem to be back on track and I'm looking forward to celebrating my seventh anniversary with James this weekend (technically married August 15 but this is when we can get away). Update of a difficult time by a fellow emu: Jen Barrett/Swanson (son Sam) From Nanaimo BC. Her husband plays semi-pro lacrosse and received a very bad hit into the boards at his game last night. Fractured his C1 in four places. He is currently en route to the largest hospital in Vancouver for surgery. There are a lot of unknowns, including if he will be able to walk again. Very tragic. The Facebook emus are pulling together donations for a Visa card to help with her travel costs (ferries from Nanaimo to Vancouver run $17 each time) and when they eventually get home a Whole Foods grocery basket. If you want to contribute - or if you want her address to send a note - send me a message and I can give you details.
