So far so good. Got the big kid off to day care. The baby is asleep in her new swaddle sack. I'm showered and packed a bag for my mom to take the big one swimming this afternoon. I have my 6 week apt this morning. Annnnnd I got 4 hours of sleep in a row last night!
I'm currently at the park with the girls, with my coffee. Baby has been sleeping like a champ! Hopefully she keeps it up. DH leaves for Germany today, gets back Saturday night then we drive 8 hours on Sunday, and Monday morning I take him to the airport and head another 1.5 hours to our lake cabin where my parents await.
So I will spend the week preparing for our vacation...hopefully leaving a clean house to come home to.
As of today I haven't had refined sugar for one week. I never even cheated. No carbs other than one piece of Ezekial bread per day. We even had friend over and I didn't cheat, not that I wasn't tempted. The scale is down 7 lbs...probably water weight. But definitely the kick start I needed. I will allow myself to have a few indulgences at the lake (mainly drink wise) but since I'm bfing it won't be a lot.
Yay for a great sleeping baby shoogars! Oh wow you have a lot going on...Good luck with everything! And congrats on making it a week! That is some serious willpower, but so glad it is paying off!
Thinking of you this morning babyzebra and packerfan4life. Hope the transition back this week goes ok.

My throat is lumpy and sore this morning. . I'm hoping it goes away. LO slept for 6 hours last night. I slept for 5 of them and my chest wasn't killing me! Ds1 never slept so this whole sleeping baby thing is amazing. Now I understand how people could consider 2u2!
We had several nights a great sleep but the past two nights of been terrible. I'm OK with that though, and learning to be grateful for the few good nights here and there! Thankfully my toddler and baby have had good and bad nights on the same nights, which I would prefer! Just trying to make it until naptime today, watching some Daniel Tiger. We had some friends over but they just left. I've already had 2 cups of coffee today!
I moved back to our room last night for the first time since my water broke. It was so nice being in my bed again! DH went back to work today. He works from home so this is a new transition for us. I ran errands this morning, but now I'm just hanging out in our room.
We had our two month appointment this morning. She is 9.5 lbs!!! Which is great. The shots weren't too bad. I ran a little over 3.5 miles with the stroller this morning before the heat sets in. So jealous of those of you who have kiddos that sleep longer than 3 hours!
We had a great weekend. I think the Zantac is really working!! I've noticed a huge difference in the baby's mood, she actually smiles a lot now and I can put her down without her screaming. We spent some time with family over the weekend and she even randomly fell asleep in my sister in law's arms in a cradle hold which she has never tolerated before for even a few minutes let alone falling blissfully asleep so easily. It was so amazing to me I took their picture!
Last night she slept for 7 hours from 9-4 and this morning it took about 5 minutes to get her to sleep for a morning nap. Previously naps were taking anywhere from 20 minutes to hours to get her to just initially fall asleep. I just cannot believe the difference. DS was exactly the same as DD prior to Zantac but we never considered he might have reflux. I think of all of those months we all suffered.
DS and I spent the day together yesterday. We took the train to the city, had lunch, icecream and went to a park. He was so good.
The last 7 weeks have been so hard on everyone I feel like we are at a turning point.

We had our 2 mo today too. Shots were better than bath time. You ran 3.5 miles?!?! That's amazing! I'm only up to 2mi, and I was pretty proud of myself for that...
The baby spit up on me during an early morning feeding and I took off my shirt and didn't bother to put on another one before I went to bed. When he started crying again after a few hours, I got up to get him and sprayed milk from the right, all over the place. So that was a first. DH rolled over and saw me standing by the bed with tissues stuck to my boobs and just rolled back without commenting. Probably for the the best. Motherhood = glamorous.
I'm having sciatic pain. It's been along day already. It's hard to bend down and pick DD2 up, especially since DD1 is insisting on jumping all over me.

vivela I've been waking up in giant pools of milk, more than pads can even deal with. It's comical.
Tumble-tot has been struggling and crying for hours while trying to poop. His pedi says might be cow milk allergy. I've been off all dairy since last Wednesday but we are still struggling with green, fishy smelling mucosy stool along with more tears while he strains. It's awful to watch. We've tried gas drops, gripe water, tummy time and baths. Bath seems to help the most. I'm calling pedi again tomorrow if there is still no improvement. Poor babe. I also think he has reflux. Really hoping to get this under control before we fly across the county next week.

Thanks titania but luckily I don't go back to work until next week (I may have written it wrong somewhere thanks to sleep deprivation). Good luck today babyzebra
DD1 didn't nap yesterday. I ended up putting her to bed at 6 which led to wake ups at 8, 10-1, 2,3, and 5. She had a 5 min car nap today and is now trying to boycott nap again. No way kid. Go to sleep!
tumbleweed Poor tumble-tot that sounds rough. We had similar problems last night. I bet It's really hard to poop while screaming, so it's a vicious cycle.
packerfan4life Go to sleep DD1! Mommy needs a break and you need rest!
AFM, After a very challenging night we had a pretty good morning. I don't feel like doing anything today, just watching TV in our PJs over here.

Luckily she fell asleep after half an hour of playing (no screaming). I am not ready for her to give up naps yet and neither is she! I am however ready for her to sleep at night. Because she'll be 2 in 2 months and her sleep, if anything, is getting worse not better.

I'm so glad you guys are doing better!! What were some of your signs that she might have reflux?? I wonder about DD sometimes..
I've been having such a hard time keeping up with TCF. I miss you guys!
We're having a pretty good day here. I should probably be doing something productive right now since they're sleeping in the swing and bouncer right now, but instead I finally sat down to update my ticker. Only took me a month.
txmommy14, the biggest sign for the baby's reflux for me was really her excessive fussiness at any and almost all points in the day. With DS it was what I called 'all day colic'. And not really fussiness as in fussing (which is manageable) but crying and screaming, moving her body in a way that looked like she was always in some pain or uncomfortable. I could never put her down but even when I held her she was unhappy. I kind of had been attributing it to poor sleep possibly. Since she never spit up I never considered reflux.
The last straw came a couple weeks ago when she started eating a lot less and would jerk her head away from the bottle and cry and arch her back after just a few sips when I knew she should be hungry and this continued for a couple of weeks.
Other things I noticed which fit with reflux but could also just be normal infant things included liking to always be upright (no car seat, swing, bouncy seat, cradle hold), lots of hiccups, a lot choking (not severely) while eating.
I was cautiously optimistic when we started the Zantac but it has been magical for her.

This happened to me the other day and I didn't notice at first. So in the morning I got to clean dried milk off my iPad screen and the side of the pack-n-play. Haha Fun times.
I just tried giving a bottle for the first time. He took it right away and gulped down 1.5 oz. Now he is nursing. I feel good that bottles are an option now. This kid can eat- is there any way I can be over feeding him if he's mostly breastfed? During the day he eats about every two hours, sometimes sooner. In the evening he nurses for a couple hours straight filling up for his first sleeping stint. He was three weeks on Friday.
Hi pbandj714! I have been thinking about what a rockstar you are for 2x the newborn shenanigans! I think you deserve some non-productive time!
That is great he will take a bottle Kevinmac! I've never really thought about that question... DD eats in a similar pattern and her pedi was happy with her weight gain. I'm no expert by any means, but I would think as long as he seems content and not in pain he is probably fine.
tumbleweed I think that dairy can take a few weeks to really get out of your system. And it can be in lot of places you may not expect. If you really think it's that I'd wait it a bit longer. Let me know if you want more info I can point you in a direction.

At one point tonight in Casa Bells of the HFM, both kids were screaming their heads off and H and I just had to look at each other and laugh.
DD no longer has a fever but she is clearly not 100%. She either wants to cuddle while watching a screen or whine "I don't want to" about various things. The rash on her feet is bothering her, too. It's sad.
E has been attached to me / my boobs all freaking day. I've been fine but now it's 9pm, I'm hooooooooot, and I cannot. handle.

Yes, please more direction! Both our pedi and a friend who is a pediatrician think it's a cow milk problem, and both said it could take some time. It's just awful watching him struggle though! I've also given up gluten and soy. Eta: there was more blood in his poop tonight. I've told his pedi, and they still think it's inflammation from the milk allergy.
Oh manybellsdown Hugs!! Glad you guys can laugh about it. That is great that her fever is gone...FX she feels better tomorrow. And hopefully you get a nursing break soon.

Jumping in--I'm so sorry! I've also heard it can take awhile, so hopefully it's just too early. I was also going to note that soy can be problematic, but you have that covered.

I'm so sorry, poor baby. I just figured out that whole foods website has lists of what they carry for special diets so you can click on the gluten and casein free list.

I don't think you can really over feed at this point. DD eats at a similar schedule though her evenings maybe have an extra feed or so she doesn't nurse for an extedned period before bed and keeps her every 2-3 hours at night.
