I know you already took your flight but I'll fodd some thoughts in for anyone else followig since I missed this earlier.
I flew a decent amount with DD1 when she was tiny. I always wore her through the airport but carried her car seat with me. It was a good place to set her down if need be. When going to my parents house they had a car seat so I didn't necessairly need ours. When traveling on vacation and my husband was there we attached the base to the car seat and carried that (without baby) and fate checked it. That allowed me to keep my eye on it. It was heavy but doable. I never covered it and never had an issue.
If you buy s seat for baby I would take the seat on the plane. You can always take baby out of it but it will probsbly give you some hands free time.
Breast milk and the ice packs are fine. Give yourself a little extra time at security because they will pull you aside and test it. Also if you're wearing baby they will do a hand swab on you as well. It shouldn't tske long but allow extra time.
I always nursed during take off but sometimes she was done ehile still on the runway. Never had an ear issue if she was already sleeping when we took off. She was never awake for landing but would have nursed if she was.
This age is so easy. When they get s bit older my other piece of advice is to try to time travel around sleep s d nap schedule. DD1 wasn't a morning person so we would do early mornif flights and she would just sleep. Naptime and bedtime are also good flying times to ensure sleep.
