billyhorrible I hope one day I have your motivation to run. I did that 5k a couple of weeks back & haven't gone running more than once since. Enjoy your mother-son date.
Tonight I'm babysitting my nieces & nephew. I'm leaving J at home, it feels weird that I'm not going to be home to put J to bed because I'm putting my sister's kids to bed.
J has been given free reign of the kitchen for the first time. But now is trying to eat the garbage can. We're really good about clorox wiping the can, but anyone have any suggestions on how to stop this other than saying no and removing her?
Hope everyone leaving on trips has a wonderful time!
carolyngrace my mom is like that too. There came a point where I just had to stop caring about constantly treading lightly on her feelings. I know that sounds pretty heartless but it was necessary. If she's a 60 yr old woman who is that insecure, she needs to get that shit figured out or get used to people being straight with her. I'd just tell your mom that you guys need some time with the ILs and you'll "coordinate" with her after they leave.
Happy Saturday! We're off in a few minutes to help one of my old roommates move back into town. I'm hoping she can convince one of my other friends to move back and live with her eventually. If nothing else, at least I get to see a few of my old college friends today!
I'm such a sucker for in ground pools. I could hate the house then see a well maintained pool with a safety fence and all of a sudden my mind goes "We could make this work! Just needs some paint and a little updating! POOL!!
But but.... POOL!! I'm like @imapenguin. I'm basically a mermaid. I'd seriously be in that thing as much as possible. Like with that fence I'd feel fine with the boys being in a yard with it. Then nap times and before they wake up and after they'd go to bed id be swimming laps !!
That's going need to be a damn big residential pool to swim laps in. If you're dead set on a pool, start a pool savings account now... Because there is ALWAYS something wrong with it. We're liking our pool situation now much better--just make good friends with the neighbors and use theirs.
I need some new recipes for my kid since she apparently only wants macaroni and cheese and fruit. Oh, and my mom fed her corn fritters tonight and she loved those. Grr.
We had a great day - we saw Ghostbusters (loved it!), had hibachi for lunch, walked around Barnes & Noble (I found the body parts board book I wanted for LO!), and I got a pair of jeans at Target. Now I'm writing a letter for a CFF fundraising campaign and drinking chocolate wine.
heartofglass if anything turns out to be a hit, let us know! H is getting very bored with her foods lately and I'm trying to switch it up.
This has been the crappiest weekend. I haven't found out if I got my teaching job yet even though they were supposed to decide on Thurs, our washer broke and is going to cost $450+ to fix, my mom is totally flaking out on the babysitting that she threw a shitfit about doing when I start my nanny job next week, and my husband got rear-ended while parked by someone who didn't feel like leaving a note owning up to it. BLAH. Sunday has to be better right?
Hi y'all! So it's been forever since I've last posted! I started work in May and have been traveling a ton. It's been extremely difficult juggling home and work with travel. But now, the traveling is over for awhile, so things have calmed down. I will hopefully be on here more to catch up and find support with the other working moms, I've missed y'all!!
If not an issue, I'd like to be a part of the private board again since I'm a private person, but I totally get it if y'all want me to post on this board for awhile before receiving the password for that one.
I have so much to catch up with on here! Who all is pregnant again??

We did pretty much nothing all day today. I took J to target for a wedding gift, then we went to our friends wedding. The little punk ate half of my cake. H needs to learn to share too, lol. He also ate a crap ton of food during dinner.
Now my fun continues with tearing apart the bathroom sink. It's absolutely disgusting, the amount of hair in the drain from H shaving. That bathroom is his job from here out, because I am not dealing with that crap again.

So tired!! Jules has been waking up every 20-30 mins with stomach pain. She only feels better when her stomach is pressed against mine, but if she loses any pressure she immediately wakes up. Also tummy rubs are helping.
Not much going on here today, which is great since we had not such a great night coupled with an early wake-up. Hoping for a good nap for both DS and me today.
Also, random, right now DS is eating Cheerios off the coffee table and we're listening to a kids song playlist from Amazon. "Hey Mickey" came on and he got so excited and started dancing in the middle of the living room! I've never seen him get that excited for a song before!

We're home!! We drove straight through yesterday, which was a 12 hour drive. At one point, DD was in her car seat for 6 hours straight, and only asleep for 1.5 hours of that. She did awesome. Now off to catch up...
I got invited to a friend's house for girls night beergaritas last night so had a good visit night with some ladies.
This morning we'll be headed to the town pancake breakfast, head to the farm from there, and head to the lake by the farm after naps to meet up with some friends!
heartofglass, thanks for sharing the food websites! I think I'm going to make the meatballs today. Did you use worcestershire sauce? That's the one thing I don't have and I'm not sure it's worth it to buy it just for one recipe.
So...I got my days confused and the party is actually today. We totally showed up at the party yesterday to no party. Lol...we paid to get in and the kids had a blast.
Today we're just doing laundry and cleaning before the real party today.
Today is a day for laundry, playing with V and organizing the house. I'm about to put a slow cooker meal in for dinner. I love lazy Sundays ....it doesn't hurt that it's rainy here. Happy Sunday Yall!
