ampaints I'm sorry your job perpetually fucking sucks. Such a huge stressor. I hope the places call you back too! I can't believe M said "no"! What was it in response to?
I was feeding him breakfast. He was shaking his head no as he loves to do sms said no as I was offering him anther bite. We'll see if he countinues to repeat it.
The doctor says DS1 has strep. Rapid strep test was negative so they did another. But he said we should wait to give DS1 antibiotics so he can develop an immunity to strep.
I call bull shit. And clearly this doctor doesn't have a 2 parent working household.
I would get a second opinion on this. Untreated strep can cause some further damage to your system (specifically kidneys). DS1 has a kidney disease which originally was thought to be Post-streptococcal glomerulonephritis which is caused by a strep virus going untreated in the system. So ya, if it is confirmed strep, it needs to be treated.

ampaints sorry work has gotten to that point of stress. FX you get something soon! When are you supposed to be done school? At least that might be a light at the end of the tunnel if you are able to get something in that field. All the wine for you (and yay M on knowing what you want and letting others know too!!)

packmomma and @betweenthelines sorry you guys are struggling with your relationships. Marriage is hard as hell sometimes alone, let alone adding parenting to the mix. And it's so hard to get out of the ruts. I hope you both are able to find some time to reconnect.

He called in a script for an antibiotic which we've already picked up and plan on giving DS1 today. He just said to wait a day so he could build up immunity.
shellyr I have the wispies too! They've grown to about an inch long but they look so ridiculous. Hope they blend in soon!
How do you deal with it? Hair products? Headbands?
I left my hair down a lot of the time which helped it blend into the other hair (while pulling back into a ponytail just highlighted them), I used Bobby pins and cute clips to pin them down, and a teeny tiny bit of gel sometimes. And time. They're still growing out but it took a few months for the hair to not just stick straight up. I think prenatal help with that (I'm still taking mine because we're nursing ).
So w has started doing this head bobbing thing. It kind of seems like a tic. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this? I thought it might just be him babying but it seems to be getting more frequent. He does it three + times in this video. Thoughts? Eta: trying to add the video kept shutting down the app. Will have to do it on my laptop when W's napping.

Answering two of your posts in one.
Yes, he had such a great time!! And he's a huge fan of cake now hahaha
Obviously the video isn't up, but from what your describing I have a tic like that. It doesn't happen very often now, but when I was a kid it happened a lot. It's hard to explain but it felt like there was a constant itch at the base of my skull and short jerky nods helped to alleviate it.
ETA: just saw the video. thats exactly what my tic is like.

I'm so glad he had fun! I think W is going to love cake too! Thanks for watching the video and responding. I'll probably put a call in to my pediatrician to have them check him out.
packmomma It looks to me like he might be imitating nodding. Especially since he does it after looking at the puzzle pieces. Kind of like he's recalling a time when someone nodded yes about the piece he picked up or where he put it. Babies do so much imitation. There are a ton of babies who have learned to shake their head no. I think this might be similar. If it were me, I might show the video to the pediatrician at his next well check, but I wouldn't be overly worried by it.
And you've also reminded me that I need to pull out some chunky puzzles for Abigail.
aydee at first I thought it was a learned behavior too but he is doing it more and more everyday. It's probably just a new movement he learned. I did put a call in to thw pediatrician though just to see if they want to see him sooner (our well visit is at the end of the month).
aydee oh yeah my neighbor gave me the chunky puzzles he really likes taking all the pieces out and then slamming them on the wood...and chewing them. that part sucks because he damaged one piece but at least he's enjoying himself.

skinandbones another side eye here to the doc. Hope the little guy feels better soon.
Had a productive day today, which was desperately needed.. I've felt so crappy lately so it was nice to feel back to normal again! Took the kiddos on a walk to the park early this morning, then we played there for awhile. Went to Target and the post office and stopped for ice cream on the way home. DH is meeting a colleague for drinks tonight after work so it's looking like a mac n cheese for dinner type of night. High five.
Hope your first day is going well @janetheconquerer!
packmomma DD2 LOVES to chew on the chunky puzzle pieces too. They are always wet and slimy from her :/
@mrspanpan, I hope that helps clear up his rash! We've had some random rashes here too but they always eventually went away on their own. I drive myself crazy trying to figure out what they're reacting too. They definitely inherited my sensitive skin!
This new tumbling/trampoline place opened up here at the beginning of the summer. They've had a drop-in class every Monday all summer but for some reason I didn't even think to take DD1 until last week. We went again today (the last class until September) and she LOVES it! When she's old enough I'm definitely putting her in tumbling, that girl loves to jump and climb. She's probably more coordinated than I am at only 2.5 years old. And the huge plus, both girls passed out after we got home and have been napping for almost 2 hours!
packmomma I haven't caught up yet but it looks like he's learning nodding. That he can control it, how it feels, and imitation bc he has seen others do it. Looks developmental to me.
