Technically L slept from 2-7 last night...but she was constantly grunting and whining in her sleep. And tossing and turning making me think she was waking up! ....which means I didn't sleep great.
Now put her back down for an AM nap...same routine of fighting sleep. WHY?! Mama needs a nap, kiddo

I have called daycare twice and DS has slept pretty much all morning aside from taking bottles and diaper changes. That's a huge relief since he didn't do so well yesterday at grandparents.
I usually make sure DS2 wakes every 3 hours to eat during the day. DH just let us both nap way too long and it was over 4 hours!! It was a glorious nap but I feel bad that it was so long. I'll probably pay for this tonight.

We did this during our drive back from Coronado.. DS slept in 4 hour chunks (usually eats every 2.5) and slept 8/10 hours we drove. And still slept like normal that night!
babycaps is it feasible to move the big kid into your room with you and the little one into his room?
Lo is still in our room but he is starting to wiggle all over the cradle and when he woke up this morning he had lines on his face from sleeping against the rails. So either he needs to go into his crib in his room or we need to move the pnp into our room.

we have a yeast rash That'll be fun to take care of. I need to run out tonight and get more sposies.
The past few days he's refused to sleep anywhere except on me, naps and everything. I used to be able to put him drowsy in the cradle. As soon as you figure something out, they change! Today I've managed to get him to stay sleeping if I put him on the floor on a blanket after nursing to sleep. Whatever works!
DH is off today so I lounged in bed with the baby all morning while he took care of DS1. When I got up he was finishing up dishes and had cleaned the whole kitchen, then made us lunch. It was a nice break! Now I'm at the auto shop with a sleeping baby getting my car appraised from my accident. The damage is so minor and insurance same back and said the other person is completely at fault.
G finally started liking tummy time last week, or at least not screaming the whole time. Then yesterday he rolled from stomach to back 3 times. I think tummy time will be him rolling over and me putting him back from now on.

It is not We live in a loft, it's two bedrooms, but one bedroom (our current bedroom) has soft walls. We moved DS1 into the master bedroom specifically so that when he goes to bed at 7pm we have use of the rest of our condo. Otherwise we are confined to the master and can't even really use the kitchen!
Right now, once LO falls asleep, he's a good heavy sleeper and we can still use the living room/dining room and make dinner. Once he is sleeping through the night, they can share a room. My husband doesn't believe me that this will not be until DS2 is over 1, but I am NOT willing to put them together in the same room and have TWO non-sleeping children past 5am (5am seems to be when DS1 EASILY wakes up if disturbed).
It's going to be a tricky year to say the least!!!!

This!!! The more naps LO gets during the day, the better the night. Because you know I'm a broken record....sleep begets sleep!
We get the BEST sleep when DS takes a 2hr nap from 3:30-5:30p and then falls back asleep around 7:30 until 2am! But getting that 3:30-5:30 nap hasn't happened in the last few days...and so he is up way more.
I need to actually get on the ball for the baby shower I'm throwing this weekend. So far I've done.. nothing.
I also need to start buying a new work wardrobe.
+1 on the wardrobe. This weekend is the tax free shopping weekend in my state. I'm debating if it's worth it to brave the crowds. Our sales tax is 9% so it might be. Diapers are included in the sale. I will definitely be stocking up on those!

I love sleep too but with our weight gain issues I'll take eating over sleeping.

I had to go to the DMV this morning and it was a mess but turned out alright. Sort of.
We missed the first bus and had to wait an hour for the next one. We finally get there and we're number 296 and they're on number 213. Whatever, we have to get the new title, so we're stuck. Then I realize that I forgot my checkbook and they don't have an ATM. So we had to go back home. Luckily the bus to take us home (that only comes every hour) was only 10 minutes away. So we go back home and since the bus to get back there (same bus, every hour) was coming back by in 15 minutes we decided fuck it, we'll go for it. So we go back and when we got their they were calling number 293! Super lucky. So we hopped back in line with our original number and got in and out of there in no time. And then the bus to take us home was only 5 minutes away, so we had to book it to the bus stop so we wouldn't have to wait another hour. We got everything done so much quicker than I expected!
Unfortunately, it'll take 6-8 weeks to get the new title. So we won't be able to sell our car until we get it. Which is a huge bummer and I'm just really hoping it lasts that long. Ugh. I know it's going to die any day now. I cannot afford to wait 2 months!
Once I switch bedrooms I want to experiment with an earlier bed time. Last time it was horrific but he was still little and lower weight so he probably wouldn't have slept well either way.
I have 12 ladies in total (self and guest of honor included) who will be at this shower... if I'm doing individual portioned brunch items - monkey bread and an egg casserole muffin - I need to do more than 12 portions, don't I? It would just be way too convenient to do 12. Would 18 work or should I just plan on two of each for everyone and lots of left overs?
I'm also thinking we'll do fresh fruit, yogurt with fruit, mimosas, virgin mimosas (OJ + cider), and waters. Do I need anything else?
I know I "need" coffee.. but can I skip it? We don't have a coffee maker since DH does cold brew, but that doesn't work well for a group. I can also go buy a carafe, but that's just adding to the budget.
I'm such a loser in an argument on Facebook with a lactivist. I've got better shit to do, but she won't shut up damnit. I've breastfed and bottle fed. And my humble opinion is that for me breastfeeding was so much easier. But she refuses to accept that. And having never actually bottle fed she has no f'n clue. Gaaah
I'm locked in my bathroom because I need some silence. H has soccer tonight and I'm excited I'll have the evening to myself.
babycaps that's too bad. Hopefully he surprises you and starts sleeping through the night earlier!
My kid only slept an hour for her afternoon nap and is now screaming hysterically like she is in pain. I can't figure out how to help her. I'm so frustrated. We haven't dealt with this in ages!!!!

Sorry to those still struggling with sleep! I know my LO has slept better since we moved her to her nursery. She also sleeps longer at night when she gets her good quality naps during the day!
I've been working on getting things unpacked and organized. The whole house needs to be painted really badly! We've managed to get the entry, living room, kitchen and play room painted. Next up is the kids' rooms, hallway and their bathroom. Then we will do our room, closet and bathroom! I wish we had room in our budget to have someone come paint it all for us but that's too $$$. Or more hours in the day!

Could it be teething?? ETA and sorry that's always so stressful and sad! It's so hard when they can't tell us what's wrong

cuppycakes, I hear ya on the painting. We paid to have our place painted a few years ago and we actually don't love the colors but I am NOT painting now or paying someone to do it. It will just have to wait!

I am very big on having way more food than you think you would need at a party - because nothing worse than being at a party and they run out of food and you didn't get as much as you wanted. So I vote make 24 of each.
I think your menu sounds perfect. I say you can skip the coffee because unless it's really early any avid coffee drinker will already have had their own before coming to the shower.
We went to the zoo this morning and had a lot of fun! A played super hard. This afternoon I took Cam to his chiropractor appointment, which he officially got released today! He's doing so much better and I'm just so thankful we went! But with the busy day Cam didn't get a real nap at all. Lots of little catnaps so it's not like he was awake all day, but no real naps. So he crashed HARD about 4:30. He woke up about 7:30, are and went right back to sleep. I hope tonight goes okay. I may have a rough night ahead! Also, this afternoon A threw a glass off the deck to the concrete below and it shattered into a billion pieces, over half of which went into the pool. Ugh. I was so upset. I'm just really hoping we got it all out and nothing catches the liner. We really can not afford to replace that thing.
I made it!!!! Got through the first day. E did great but only ate 6oz in 9 hrs... Anticipating a night of frequent nursing and I don't mind a bit. I should think about getting her on a real schedule, but our schedule is not very consistent so I don't know where to start.
+1 on the too much food.
@led way to go with the bus trips, I'd have given up.

Do either of the rooms have a walk in closet big enough for a crib or pack and play? If so could you buy a few clothing racks to keep elsewhere so DS2 could sleep in there? Obviously far from ideal but could work...

+1 to having extra food.
Can you do iced coffee k3am, like pick up one of the Starbucks bottles?
