Looking for some reactions and suggestions for baby names. We don't know if our little one is a boy or girl yet, but we're trying to get some firm ideas set so that we're not waiting til the last minute.
For girls, our frontrunners are Virginia Rey (using Ginny as a nn) and Eleanor Vera. Both Virginia and Vera are family names.
For boys, it's a bit less firm. I love Oliver James, but DH isn't sold - thinks it sounds too much like Jamie Oliver. I also like Henry and David, but not together.
Last name is two syllables ending in -mann and sibling is Benjamin Alexander (goes by Benji).

I love Eleanor. I think Oliver James is a great combo but I would pick a different middle name. I know so many people with the middle James that it's starting to feel a little like a filler (flame away; I can take it ;p). I also really like Henry. I think Henry > Oliver for me but they are both great.

I prefer Virginia over Eleanor. Eleanor is much more popular right now (though it's lovely) so I'd go with something a little different. Other suggestions Hazel Beatrice Lilian
Boys Oliver is cute but I find it's very trendy, unless that bothers you. Other suggestions Theodore Timothy

Virginia > Eleanor. I know you didn't ask specifically, but I'm not fond of Rey as a middle name (means King and also just don't care for the sound). Is there some significance to it for you?
For boys I like Henry and David more than Oliver. Suggesting Adam, Abrahm, and Julian.

My grandpa's name is Ray, and Rey is a "girl" version that I like better. Also helps that it's a Star Wars character and I'm ridiculously geeky.
Eleanor > Virginia. Rey is no good. Rey is NOT the girl version of Ray. That is all nonsense. If you want to honor your grandfather, then just do Eleanor Raymond (I assume this is his full name) Lastname. There is nothing wrong with using a classic male name as a girl's mn when it's honoring someone. David > Oliver > Henry. I like David James.

I've thought about David James. However, David is both DH's grandfather and uncle's name. Grandpa goes by David, uncle goes by his middle name. Both, however, are angry racist assholes. I love the name, but not sure I can really use it as a first name given this situation.

I vote no fning or mning after angry racist assholes. Oliver James is solid. Actually, James Raymond would be even better. Rae is still no good, unfortunately.
