mosdub it's all just so damn scary! As if we don't have enough to worry about! H has to go to Florida for work later this month (in Clearwater, but still) and I've already told him that if he's outside, especially at dusk, he needs to be wearing bug spray! He goes back down again in September to go to a football game. Ugh!
Is he going to the Browns game down here in sept? If so DH will be there too!
My husband actually isn't a Cleveland sports fan. Just me. He was born and raised in Florida and loves all Tampa teams. He also went to Florida State and is a huge Seminoles football fan. He'll be down there for a Seminoles game.
mosdub As far as I've read, it's 8 weeks if no symptoms show, 6 months if they do. My cousin posts a crapton of stuff about Zika, but he actually works with viruses and science and stuff.
Thanks renegadewhit and Quinstar for the information! I wish they spread this info out more clearly - but I guess they probably can't until they have a certain number of legitimate sources or something.
Here's another important question - how long should you abstain from sex if you worry he may have been bitten? A week? 8 weeks?! No one seems to know.
I went to a Zola seminar for work presented by an infectious disease Doctor, and they basically said 6 months or the remainder of the pregnancy if you're pregnant. They think zika can live in the testicles for a long time, even if you test negative for a blood test.
I feel like if I show this information to my husband he just might cancel both of his trips to Florida. LOL. There's no way he could go without sex for six months or longer
ladytiffany24 I read up on it today. If a mosquito bites a sick person, it can transmit it to the next person it bites. Scared the crap out of me! I'll just be inside here til March.
Okay- and I have a potentially dumb question, but I'm sort of freaking out. A bath lover, I have given up baths completely bc I don't know what is "too hot", blah blah. But I'm getting a pedicure right now, and my feet were in really hot water, and as I began to sweat, it suddenly occurred to me that maybe my "core body temp" had gone up. Also- it didn't occur to me until I freaked out about that that maybe I shouldn't have had the massage chair pounding on my low back?
I guess I'm just looking for reassurance that I'm okay. :/
+1 to the no sex drive. It is so unusual for me. But.. then, since this pregnancy took hold, I don't like coffee.. sweets get old after three bites.. i.e. all the stuff I love sounds horrible. Poor hubby has been hinting that he's going a bit insane. He even thought I said "blow job" on the phone this morning from work. Yeah.. def something I'd say where co-workers could hear ><
Apparently morning sickness decided to hit this afternoon for the first time, and snacking isn't helping I'm supposed to pick up a friend and go to the beach and I'm hoping I don't hurl while I'm there.

I went to get a salad for dinner. The guy making it asked if I was pregnant. I was just stunned. I mean, the bloat is happening but it's not obvious in this outfit. I guess he just wanted to let me know their cheese is pasteurized. I told him next time to lead with that.

That's weird. Does he clarify that with every woman of childbearing age? I feel like it makes more sense if they are using unpasteurized cheese....
Did you tell him you were pregnant? Lol, I don't know how I would respond to a stranger asking me

It sounds like he might be asking all the ladies - his coworker was like wtf dude?! I just stared and he asked again so I said I am... I was too surprised to say something clever or not answer.

Yeah.. mine hit about the time yours is. (checked due date list) I'm sorry I actually was all excited thinking I was going to get away with none this time around.
.. despite not wanting sweets, Jolly Ranchers have been a huge help. Dunno why, not asking. lol
This evening is not shaping up well for the "morning" sickness.
I was soo close to getting a nap! The twins both fell asleep without fighting me. (Wish THAT happened more often.) I was all curled up, drifting off with the baby monitor by my head.. and the older girls high school counselor called to set up orientation. ~facepalm~
I've been visiting my family on the east coast for vacation and have to fly back west tomorrow. DH came with me on the way here but couldn't stay as long as me and now I have to fly back by myself with my 18 mo DD. I know it'll be fine but I'm really dreading it right now. Definitely looking forward to getting back home though! And luckily my DH will be getting back from a work trip just before I land so he'll wait for us at the airport and make things easier on that end. Mostly I'm afraid of having to pee (or worse 😁) a lot during the flight with DD in tow. It's been really nice visiting my family though so totally worth it. And I'm definitely planning on giving DD to DH as soon as we're home and taking a nap!
Finally home. Feet are killing me. Bathing suit shopping success!
DH is slightly forgiven since he managed to find a pair of bathing suit bottoms that have a nice soft comfy band to fit over my belly. And I feel so comfy in them.
I walked around 2.5 hours for this. Hate bathing suit shopping!

Oh no! Evening sickness is the worst. I hope you made it through ok.
moutonrouge Omg! I would have been mortified. What a stupid waiter. Just say the cheese is pasteurized if you want people to know! I'm sure pregnant women who want to know will just ask.
