Our flight w delta on the last leg was delayed so we missed the Canada border crossing (they close at 8pm) so we had to drive 6 hours (going through the 24 hour border) instead of the usual 3 hours. Got home at 11pm last night. Towards the end I was losing my mind.
Edit to add one more good thing. We left an important box on the shuttle at the airport and it was turned into lost & found. Thank god. I've never heard H yell so loud when he saw we left it there.
L is learning so much at the moment. It's such a joy to watch her grow and develop. She keeps surprising me!
I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with three concurrent viruses. No wonder I've been feeling so ill! This is a positive because I was beginning to be afraid there was something seriously wrong and I'm delighted that there isn't.
The doctor did say that I'm run down and need to rest as much as possible. Not easy for any parent!
Once you find a hairstylist, you never let them go! I found mine like three years ago and I love her to pieces.
I know!! I loved my girl and I was with her for almost 10 years but then we left CA and I couldn't take her with me. She's my friend on FB and I still try to sneak in to see her if we go home to visit. I big pink puffy heart love her and wish I could find someone here I love as much.

Wow, that sucks, sorry to hear you are sick! I hope you feel better soon.
How did your doctor come to diagnose you with 3 separate viruses? In my experience, if not an infection, they just say "must be a virus" and call it a day.
That's my usual experience, too. In this instance there are a couple of viruses with very specific symptoms that are doing the rounds, so he was able to identify both. And when I said that there seemed to be some more symptoms that weren't covered by either of those, he asked a few more questions and said that it must be another virus.
FFTuesdayC: A commercial on Disney Jr just asked if we knew what day of the week it was. I didn't without having to reeeeally think about it. I am going to miss summer.
Question: V has been leaking through his diapers occasionally at night and had wet through yesterday after getting up from a nap. Is that a sign we need to size up?
Sizing up did the trick for us. Also, are you using nighttime diapers for him? We started using the Pampers Baby Dry Extra Protection a few months ago, and those suckers have not leaked once, for us at least.

We've been having this problem, too. M's been wearing size 4's of pampers swaddlers, so we'll likely try the 5's.

Funny you guys say the Pampers Baby Dry are the most absorbent, LO leaked through her overnight diaper in one of these for the first time since she was a little little thing. We usually use huggies or target brand and haven't had any problems. I wonder if it depends on where they absorb the most, LO sleeps on her stomach mostly, so the front of her diaper is always full and the back is dry.

Yes or make sure his penis is facing down when the diaper is on. If it's facing up the pee can go into the area that is least absorbent

My mom showed up with my nieces today...she watches the girls on Tuesday and Thursday. I asked my niece why she was with grandma on a Monday and my niece just looked at me like...duh, it's Tuesday?
1. I got my act together after a craptastic weekend and exercised before 10pm two days in a row. 2. I'm getting major cuddles in with J the last two weeks.

I found with DS the nappy needs to be quite high in the front, that way it's nice and flush at the back. Otherwise it would gape slightly and the pee would literally pour out as the boys peen tends to go up through the night so it's like a hose when they do pee then.
I've tried to make that sound the least weird as I could.
I'm making a two-tiered naked cake for my friend's baby shower this weekend, 3 layers each tier, 6" and 10" rounds. Do I need to buy dowels or can I use fat straws to support the cake?

Also, what do you guys think, should I do a sauce dripped on top or not?
I used fudge on top of G's birthday cakes. The one I'm making for the shower is going to be funfetti so I was thinking caramel or marshmallow sauce might taste good, or maybe pink candy melts?
heartofglass Hope the showing goes well! I'm so sick of showing our house and it's barely been two weeks LOL. Someone wanted to come this morning but I thought we were done showing the house so we had laundry all over and I didn't have time to put it away so I told them they could come in the evening or any other day this week. I seriously need a house cleaner.
1. Had a beautiful, sunny, low-humidity day at the beach with LO and my sister.
2. I get paid tomorrow! OMG my first payday since June...I am so psyched!
BONUS... 3. We originally had a family reunion scheduled on Saturday but it got cancelled because my mom and all her siblings are fighting about where to have it. I am so happy to have my day back (and lol'ing that a bunch of 60 yr olds are arguing like kids...I guess some siblings never really grow out of it).

I used baby dry for DS and they worked wonderfully, not so much with LO. I use Huggies overnight with her (and couldnt use huggies with DS)
I saw blood running out of his mouth, a lot of it.
I cleaned him up and gave him ibuprofen and an ice cream cone, but he's still shrieking and miserable. I hope nobody else has had it this bad, but does anyone have tips to help him?
Thanks girls! He didn't want anything cold in his mouth. I let him nurse and that put him to sleep just now, so hopefully that will help until the medicine kicks in. It was hard to keep calm when I could tell he was getting really scared by it.
