I felt a lot more comfortable with it until DH told me I'd "be washing a lot of sheets" in the future. And then I threw up a little in my mouth. I'm sure as long as we stick to facts without the friendly banter I'll be fine.
I'm just going to send my kids vibrator shopping with grandma. That oughta turn them off to the whole concept for awhile.

I finally caught up.
Along the BF/FF lines, if aren't a parent, keep your damn mouth shut. I've side-eyed way too many people for offering their opinions when they have made the decision to not have kids.
Same with belly-touching. Don't be offended when I ask you to stop touching my PG belly when, in the same conversation, you've proclaimed your lady bits are only for recreation and decoration.
FFC: My MIL bought a sex toy at a party I hosted (CLARIFICATION: she was not in attendance - she bought it through a third-party). It gave me hope for my 60+ year old sex drive. I horked a little when I heard she purchased one, but I had a little bit of hope.

I am catching up, but if my so called to tell me that he felt the need to tell me that he had a reaction to someone grabbing him I would say we have bigger problems.

creepyeyeball what is your backup plan if the baby reject your boobs for comfort nursing? Maybe this is all in my head but don't babies just know their momma/mother's smell, your nipped will be different than her nipple, & all that jazz? So if your sister agrees to this (sorry but) ridiculous prerequisite & then the baby says fuck no to your boob, are you then going to back out of babysitting?
Sorry if this was covered, there's no way I can keep up with this thread
It's not. I have like a million friends on the Internet.
The "closed life" comment is condescending AF.
Very cunty. But I'm saying homeschooling 5 kids and dry nursing an infant sounds like a nightmare so I really can't criticize someone else saying my life sounds like a nightmare.
I know Larry happened. Please do not try to convince me otherwise. Please don't talk to me about coffee. I don't drink it. I don't caffeine. When I state my opinion, that is me chiming in on a topic. This is not me saying you suck at life if you do or feel differently. If I want to say that, I will. If I want to speak on you, I will.
rvasc, but "Duggarish" isn't condescending? If a group of people only surround themselves with others who think and feel and do the same things, then is that not a closed life? Don't Amish people live a closed life? I would also imagine that orthodox Jews live a closed life. It's not a bad thing. It's just not my thing
I BF mostly because it's free and I'm too lazy to make a bottle. I had to pump and dump for a few days last week and feed from my stash, I felt no more or less emotional connected to my baby when I was giving her the bottle versus when I nursed her again.
At Christmas, during when DH and I were struggling to get pregnant, my MIL suggested we try having sex while I was on my period. Um, ya thanks for the tip I'm going to talk to Aunt Gertie now.
I wanted to VBAC because I didn't want the recovery of an abdominal surgery again and have the restrictions of not driving or picking up my toddler. DH kept asking why I "wanted" to have a vaginal delivery. I kept telling him I don't "want" one, I just feel if given the options that is the better route if possible. LO#2 was breech, scheduled RSC and that was that. I didn't have strong feelings either way really, pros and cons to both I guess.
We bought a 1/4 of a cow and split the meat with my brother. It came with a tongue and a liver. Those are buried way deep down in the bottom of my freezer. I have no idea what to do with them. I don't want to waste them but HELL NO to eating cow tongue. Suggestions?
Maybe see if one of the olds in your family would want it? You know, they learned to eat every part of the animal back in the depression.
Just don't take it out of your freezer and set it on a basket of freshly laundered sheets and then forget about it for a week until you notice a stench and realize your mistake and the sheets now look like the scene of a slaughter.
To bring this full circle, I think pre-K should be universal and free. I don't want to feel like a bad mom for not being able to afford preschool. So here I am spending a billion hours looking up how to teach it myself when I am absolutely the wrong person for the job.
I agree. We did daycare pre-school because we had to, but she didn't learn much.

I don't understand why you think all SAHMs only associate with other SAHMs. That's like saying I only associate with my coworkers.

I'm an elementary teacher. Strong NO on homeschooling. If we still live in this district when kindergarten rolls around, I'm going to have to get creative with where she'll go to school, though.

Are we equating SAHMs with the Amish now?
Once I'm done churning my butter and using my loom, I'm going to post my big dick story. Not sure if it's a confession or belongs in the blinds thread.
Oh ok. I see what you meant. No I have SAHM friends and I work full time. I was saying that I couldn't be home all day, I need the break from my little one. I'm home during the summer and I'm seeing that I'm not good at being with her all day every day.

Also I just spent a decent amount of time researching data on homeschooling.
While some studies do indicate that children who are homeschooled do as well or better than traditionally schooled children in terms of academics and social development, they also point out that that the data is very limited and somewhat flawed because not all homeschooled students undergo regular testing and the participants in these studies self select which they are unlikely to do unless they knew they would perform well.
So while I think it's fair to say that some homeschooled students do well, I don't think you can really make a fair comparison across the board.
Like others, there would need to be a very specific and extreme set of circumstances that would ever make me consider this.
Number One: Born 06.16.2009 BFP: 01.17.2014 / MC 02.05.2014 BFP: 03.08.2014 / MMC: 05.07.2014 Dx: Partial Molar/GTD. Benched until 01.2015 Number Two: Born 07.22.2016

Let's change "birthed a child" to "aren't a parent"
