DS has a baseball buddy program tonight with our local minor league team. We have to be there at 6:30 and there's a 70% chance of thunderstorms starting at 6. We're going to go but ugh. DNW.
Ugh. No. That just means it's hot and humid. I would have considered playing the pregnancy card. Like, sure H, you take DS. I'm going to stay home with DD.
As of 1 hour ago DH will likely have to miss it because he'll probably have to work late. Im going to suck it up and then reward myself with ALL the concession stand food
So Little Bones has started complaining about hair in his face. I've told DH repeatedly we need to get his hair cut but DH is super resistant. Whatever, hair is not my hill.
Little asked me to pull his hair back today but I don't have rubber bands small enough (I can only get the top half of his hair). What kind of rubber bands can I use? I only buy big ones since I have so much hair.
DH is now on board with a hair cut but I don't think we will have the time until next week.
I'm way behind but the rainbow loom small elastics work wonders. Don't slip out. Don't break. I could use them more than once but I don't. I buy the multi color pack at Michaels with a coupon. We tried a million kinds and rainbow loom are the best.

runningmommy519, I definitely understand how you could feel overwhelmed, but it's good that you are getting him evaluated. Whether he is on the autism spectrum or it's something else, you're getting him the support and help he needs. The evaluation result doesn't change anything, except give you a clearer picture so that you can give him the best learning environment possible.

We had Poppy's 1 year appointment today. Everything was good. Iron levels are great so there's no issue with her being veg. (Thanks for the tips packmomma!) And she's bulked up to 19lbs3oz, which is the 40th percentile! For a while she was closer to the 15th, so solid food and WCM really agree with her. :-)

We had C's 12 month appointment too, and since we eat vegetarian, I was also worried. Her hgb was 12.1, which is ok and she's similar to Poppy at 19lbs, 4oz.
She didn't cry once with either the shots or finger poke. I was so proud!!

Success at the ballfield tonight! DS was paired with the pitcher, who was ridiculously sweet to him He got to run out onto the field and have his name announced. It was pretty much the cutest thing ever. Then, as I'm standing there so proud of him, I see him standing there on the pitcher's mound in front of a few thousand people, picking his nose during the national anthem.
That's my boy.
Epic night. And I'm going to have the pork sweats from the huge (but flippin' amazing) pulled pork sandwich I got. @betweenthelines I saw your comment about pulled pork for dinner and it's all I wanted all day!
So what is everyone doing regarding haircuts for the little boys? H really wants to cut W's hair but I've been reluctant to do it because I don't think w even has enough hair overall to really cut/style. It's really fine and curls at the ends (H says this is because it's so long). Any inspiration you guys are using for haircuts?
tell all the dads to go fuck off. Not cutting baby hair.
Today was such a bust. B had a low grade fever and wasn't acting himself but I left him at daycare because it wasn't high enough for me to pick him up. I had a ton to do.
- I went to tour a daycare I've heard great things about and I thought it was only OK. - I went to go get temporary checks since I lost mine in the move for the daycare waitlist (just in case there are no other options) - Go the SSA to get my lost ss card replaced. They close at noon on Wednesdays - Go get B since I'm all the way across town - Didn't get back to daycare to pay wait list fee - Didn't get my passport application mailed because I didn't bring a stapler for the passport photos I had done that morning.
My whole office is in a mood today. All I've heard since people started walking in is complaints - about the weather, Metro, their cases, whatever. I need to find a way to avoid the collective funk.
Stream olympics on my phone? Motown station on Pandora? Hmm, choices.
W woke up again at 523. Went back down for 5 minutes, woke up, repeat till 540. This cannot be the new normal. And we didn't fall asleep until almost 1 because we were talking about W's birthday (we're thinking about changing it to a rec center) which is stress because I just sent out the evites. But w/e if it helps H not have a meltdown I'm all about it.
I was sent to a pre construction meeting an hour away, right next to the beach. I'm an hour early thanks to them rushing me out of the office because traffic. Yet I'm not close enough to the beach to enjoy this hour.
packmomma, I think I'm finally starting to accept that DD2's normal wake-up time is ~5:30am. I hope it's not that for you too. For the last 3-4 months I've been fighting it trying to get her to sleep until at least 6, but it's rare that she makes it past 5:30. I've tried putting her to bed later, earlier, the same time. No difference. Sometimes she just sits there and plays, but usually she is ready to get up. It is very sad.
