tacocatmom when we are going to the ocean next month my parents are coming with us. Free babysitting. My mom said we could even go out to dinner or something every night.
Anyone know of a video app that lets you watch shows but the child can't turn off the video? If she would stop closing out the video, my life wouldn't be so stressful right now. STOP PISSING OFF SIRI AND PUSHING BUTTONS.
iPhone had parental access! Let me find the directions. You can lock the whole screen and buttons (or just buttons if it's an interactive app) and have to triple click the home button and put in a passcode to turn it off. It's amazing.

malvo - I can't find written instructions so here's my best for you -
Settings -> General -> Accessibility Down near the bottom - Guided Access Turn on Guided Access Set a passcode Turn on accessibility shortcut
So now whenever you open what she wants to watch, triple click the home button. Your screen will shrink and there will options for Cancel and Start. If you click Start, it will only lock the buttons. This will prevent the pressing of the home button and/or volume and power buttons. While on the screen with cancel and start, you can outline the screen. If you do that, when M presses the screen, it will act like she didn't. So you can outline it and press start and she won't be able to activate the screen or buttons. To exit it, quickly press the home button three time and put in your passcode. Then click end. Best.iphone.control.ever!
portuguesemama OMG. I already had this in place but, for whatever reason, thought it only worked for this baby app I downloaded. IT WORKS FOR EVERYTHING.

It's seriously the best thing ever! I think it saves settings per app too so for example - Disney Junior - I highlight the whole screen so he can't stop the episode from playing, but Fisher Price, I only lock the buttons. Whenever I turn it on in Disney Junior, it automatically has the screen highlighted, but it doesn't in Fisher Price. And yes, my child uses apps on my phone weekly - not daily - MOTY over here.
I stand firm in camp #cribs4lyfe. Im not going to ruin a good thing. Also, dunno what H did with the instructions to the crib so im just not even gonna try, haha. Which brings me back to dont ruin a good thing. Solo parenting=lets not complicate things.
Finally home and done with the day,got more overtime than I planned on. Im about to start calling people out at work because lazy assholes are lazy. P went to bed late because he still needed dinner. Now im drinking a beer and relaxing. But i really am starting to enjoy working the long days again. Before we had P i worked 2 jobs (15hr days) and ive been missing that recently. The "gogogo." But theres no way i could pick up a second job, so this is nice for now.
