gratefulgirl some mom's do make higher fat content in their bm but guess what...it is still specially made for your baby. So who cares if your bm is 22cal instead of 20 cal. I only know this because they looked at the fat content in the nicu and said I make diet bm. But I still give it to her because it is made for her. I just supplement as needed. So good for you making cream
That is actually fascinating. Now I will just proudly say "Yup. And look how healthy they all are."
elm1214 I get some weird comments about 4 girls but the majority are positive. When they are all dressed alike everyone gives them a lot of attention. Their hair is Shirley Temple curly so people get a kick out of that I think girls are really fun

Anyone have nausea as an early labor sign? I just feel really off today and I'm hoping it's because things are going to start to happen soon. Probably wishful thinking, but I'll take it.

remylove1011 idk if it counts but before I was in active a labor I just had a full sick feeling. Like I only could take a few bites of food. Hopefully things are starting for you!!
I want to be discharged but the surgeon team hasn't rounded yet. I'm chomping at the bit because H needs to go to work today and baby girl is smiling and cooing. Just when I think I can't love her anymore she starts smiling at me and I'm a weapy mess. I need to cry in private lol

I haven't myself, but know of a lot of people who describe their labors starting off this way. Fingers crossed for you!
Just got spit up all through my hair - thank you baby! I should probably abandon the over-the-shoulder burps to avoid this. I normally wouldn't care too much, but I actually need to leave the house for an appointment and I would like to look presentable!
Sorry ladies about the rude comments. After people are done commenting about when you go into labor, the next thing they do is comment on how big/small baby is. Manners and pregnancy/babies are like oil and water.
Yes! If I hear one more time how small DS is for being 8 weeks old, I'm going to lose it. Just tell me how cute he is or shut up. I know he's small.
Re: pregnancy commentary -- thankfully nobody near me has had the ill manners to open their mouths at me. I think I complain enough so they don't have to, haha! I just get the assorted "how long"s and such from cashiers and other strangers.
My favorites are actually the grandpa-aged older dudes who see me waddling by and say something friendly then finish up with, "hopefully soon, for your sake!" The sentiment is nice and the source cracks me up.
DD decided to get up early today. It is already 90ish outside at 8am, and so I am packing up to take her over to my mom's for the day. D-bag stepdad left town for the week, so it leaves us clear to go up there. It would be nicer if it wasn't so hot, since my mom has this nice huge yard, but nobody wants to play outside in 100 degrees!
Hope someone does the labor + baby thing today! We had such a rush so far, I am getting antsy for more behbehs!
Can anyone tell me your experiences with gripe water or gas drops? I think I need to try something because DD2 is either eating, sleeping, or crying. She rarely has calm moments. She screams before she burps or poops. She wakes up all night to burp, and we aren't getting any sleep. Do you think either of those products would help?
annbuhdan, I never used them, personally (all the reading I have done says they basically have no science behind them) but many many moms swear by them. Like, religiously. Afaik, they can't HURT, so for a situation where it seems like nothing is working, I would say go ahead and try it. If I got desperate, science be damned, I would probably try it, too, for some harmless relief for my baby.

I've felt this way for a few days now. I also have many bowel movements a day (sorreh). I've spent a lot of time googling. It's definitely a precursor to labor in that your body is starting to "empty out."
The day before I went into labour I felt awful. So nauseas and I felt like all the muscles from my back and core were strained- I could barely move. As soon as baby was out, all the pain was gone. It was so weird

I hope this means good things for you!
Yeah... I've also been having that. I originally just thought it was something I ate, but now I'm hoping it's to do with getting ready for labor.

Mylicon worked REALLY well for DS1. I would give it to him a couple of times a day and it made a big difference
Lawd. DS1 was positively foul at the grocery store today. So bad that random olds were lecturing him. It's one thing when he makes poor choices at home but there will be NONE of that nonsense in public

My SIL is a pediatrician who swears by one study that says 50% of babies were helped by gas drops. My own pediatrician thinks they are a placebo for parents. I know most pediatricians don't like gripe water.
We tried gas drops for both bigs and probiotics for DD2. No help. DD2 was just a grouchy baby. DD1 -no clue, just a newborn thing.

- DD3 has started crying as though she got a shot in her sleep. Both my bigs did too. Anyone know why they might do this? 3 kids in and I am still stumped. It wrecks havoc with sleep.
- I seem to have a choice between self-care and house care. Today I chose shower + coffee and then my kitchen tormented me all morning. This too shall pass, even with 3, right?

Sorry for all the insensitive comments ladies!! People need to stfu. penny2103 sorry for the false hope and the bad sleep hope things get started soon! hashbrownnofilter Your MIL needs a TP dc2london Sorry DS1 was a pill. DD acts this way sometimes at the store. One time I actually had a mom come up and rub my shoulder and say "stay strong" It was sweet.

Went to the doctor this morning for my 39 week appointment this am. I am still sitting at 4 cm, but like 75% effaced. Since I have been like this for a week she decided it would prolbly be good to go ahead and induce. So I go in tomorrow morning at 7:30. I'll update as I can but honestly don't expect to hear much from me, I'll probably go kind of reclusive for a while. It's been a long day and I'm already over it and have lots to do to get ready for tomorrow so I probably won't be around much.

My mom visited this past weekend. She brought recorders for my big kids. Uh, I guess the good news is that the baby can sleep through that sound. Thanks mom.
gratefulgirl I'm with you on the potty training. DD2 is showing clear signs of being ready, but I'm trying to ignore them because there is no way I can dive into potty training with a newborn. My type A personality won't let me half-ass it either, so it's all or none at this point. I let her sit on the toilet when she wants because I don't want to deter her, but I'm being fairly meh about it.
dc2london sorry about the behavior in the store. I always want to give a look of support when I see other moms handling bad behavior, because when it's happening with my child it is so nice to know people aren't judging and that many have been there before. It doesn't mean that when it happens I don't want to just go to my car to cry for a while though.
annbuhdan I love mylicon and gripe water and have used them with every baby. I use the little tummy brand for gripe water and the generic for mylicon. Neither one will hurt to try. I use mylicon for gas. Gripe water for hiccups after every feed. I also am using the biogia probiotic drops. If you Google them there is a medscape article that linked them to less crying time in colic babies. I think they have helped with the pooping. Hope you guys can find something that helps her be more comfortable!
countrycotton yay!! You better come back to update us. I have been stalking you since I can't keep up with all the posts. Fx everything goes smoothly and you don't get bumped (or put in er )
gratefulgirl dd4 does the cry out thing in her sleep. She usually settles down and goes back to sleep but it is odd. Ftr, this was pre-hernia repair so idk. My only guess is gas
And yes it passes with 3. It passed so much with me I decided to have a 4th. Ha! If you ever get distressed about dirty hair, think of it as an oil treatment AND it gives your scalp a rest which in turn keeps lice away. #silverlinning
