LOL. I was about to start this and just talk to myself. Hi ash! What are you up to?
I'm hoping a quiet day means our mamas and toddlers are out doing fun things.
Just got done with lunch. Totally used shredded cheese to bribe my kid to eat. Everyone he asked for more "tees" I'd ask him to eat broccoli/chicken. Worked like a charm (for today at least.) Lol

kcrus big hugs, hope things got better today. I read what your wrote on Sunday. Being the backbone of your family for so long can be tiring and overwhelming. I know that nowadays people think a husband and wife share responsibility 50/50 but that's usually not the case. Even when my DH does so much for us, I know it's me who has to make sure things are ok with bills, the house, baby, etc.

LO slept all night! Woohoo! Rested mama makes for a productive day. Dentist gave us mixed news yesterday - the three damaged teeth could all die, and need to come out (with root canals, ouch). Or they could tighten back up and the impacted one could come back down on its own. We'll stay on a soft food diet and follow up in 2 weeks. And my sister had her baby today! It's girl #3 for them. No name picked out just yet, but she was healthy at 8lbs 12oz, 22 inches. Can't wait to meet her this weekend!

nemomof2 big hugs to you too lady! Always feel free to unload your worries and frustrations here. Some of us have been there done that, and the others can def empathize. Don't feel guilty for asking for help from family or YH. You need to take care of yourself or else you won't be good to anyone else either.

littlelion Thanks for asking!! DH took him and didn't take a diaper bag because he's a man and it didn't occur to him that he might need it. LO took a huge stinky poo right before the appointment. Of course.

BabyStandish how is your LO doing? Leo was only miserable with his cold last week for about 2 days. But his nose is so runny and sometimes he still coughs a lot when he's trying to sleep.

DH wants me to take the potty out for Leo to start using it. Sure, since I'm the one home with him most of the time, he's all ready to jump the potty training gun.
We've had an exciting day so far, well by mom standards at least. First, LO slept 6pm-8am so I got to watch a movie and sleep ELEVEN hours lol. Then we went to play group, F walked into the bathroom, pointed at the toilet and said "pee". We haven't started potty training yet, but I figured it was a good starting point so I put her on and just started talking about how we pee in the toilet... and then she did! She proceeded to wipe herself, wash her hands and throw the paper towel in the garbage. Meanwhile I'm pretty much in tears at how fast my baby is growing up! Also went to the dentist for the first time yesterday and she did great. She was in awe of the dental hygienist and wouldn't look at the camera
ashlantic We often use cheese to bribe F, could be worse I figure! littlelion sorry you're not feeling well, you definitely deserve some chocolate! laceysbryan Yay for sleep and a new baby! Hope everything works out with LO's teeth. DH also took F out without the diaper bag once... then complained that he had to buy diapers and wipes because she pooped. That's what happens!

He's doing a bit better. Sunday was definitely the worst. He's still coughing once in awhile and his nose is stuffy. Poor guy. Hope Leo gets back to 100% too.
littlelion chocolate sounds like a good plan to me! Hope your headache goes away stat. kcrus I hope your Tuesday is treating you more kindly than Monday. laceysbryan congrats to your sister! Fx your lo's teeth resolve on their own and no further dental work is needed. Poor guy! megpie5 aww, what a big girl! And that's an awesome night of sleep. Her curly hair kills me, btw. So cute. And I would use cheese alllll the time, but usually bribes result in him just straight up refusing to eat. This kid might be more stubborn than I am. ourcrazynavylife yum! BabyStandish glad to hear he's feeling better.
It always amazes me how fast these lo's are learning these days! I was sitting with lo at lunch and he pointed to my shirt and said "R." There was indeed an R on my shirt. He knows 2 letters now- R and H. And he knows the number 8. He's over the moon when he spots the number 8 on something. His enthusiasm for his favorite number cracks us up.

littlelion hope you get some chocolate and your day gets better! laceysbryan congrats to your sister and hope it works out with your LOs teeth without any dental work. ashlantic B went from loving shredded cheese to spitting it out now. He actually won't eat any 'stringy' foods now, like spaghetti! All I'm left to bribe with is cookies, or offer 'dip.' That's so cool about the letters and number 8. Lol B has been loving naming everything he can, it is fun! @megpie wow those are all huge mom wins!! You should play the lottery today haha! Love her curls!! ourcrazynavylife I loooovveee banana bread! That's making me want some! BabyStandish aw hope your LO is back to 100% soon!

My dad took a day off and came to the aquarium with B and I. It was really fun! I'm bummed my mom and now grandparents live all the way in FL (I'm in PA) and won't be able to see B more than twice a year most times, but my dad is only an hour away and always wants to see us and B. I'm exhausted now though and this afternoon is dragging!

Fuuuuuuuuck you guys. LO fell AGAIN. The front tooth that was left loose has now fallen out. Dentist was not surprised when I called. I cried longer than he did.

Aw mama. It's ok. I promise he won't remember any of this. Hugs to you and healing thoughts to your little one!

You and lo have been through the wringer! I can't imagine how scary that must have been. Big hugs. I second what kcrus said, he won't remember this. His adult teeth will be in before you know it and his toothless grin will be just a memory.
reginaphalange3 bribing with dip doesn't work for us. He just eats the ketchup and nothing else. Lol Toddlers and their food preferences are so weird. Lo loves cheese but won't touch a cheese stick. He went through a 2 week phase where he flat out refused to eat any noodles even though he previously loved them. And dh got him to eat his chicken the other night by convincing him that it was "chicken crackers." So. Weird.
ashlantic I am not above bribery megpie5 what a big girl!! laceysbryan the same thing just happened to my friends daughter with her teeth. She snapped the frenulum and one of her teeth looks like it may die/fall out she's 2. Poor LO! I'm sorry he's having such a rough time and that the tooth fell out. ourcrazynavylife YUM! littlelion my FIL keeps mentioning how Leo seems interested in the potty... I'm not ready for that at all haha BabyStandish glad LO is feeling better! reginaphalange3 glad the aquarium was fun!
Early intervention came to interview us yesterday. The speech pathologist didn't meet Leo (nap time!) but talked to us for a long time and was great. She does seem to think that after his evaluation on 8/26 he will likely be picked up for services, which I would be super grateful for but it also makes me sad Leo has been coming to work with me to set up my classroom- not easy but he seems to enjoy himself! Also my photographer friend took this Sunday at the birthday party

laceysbryan ugh sorry, that must be so stressful. I agree with the other ladies he won't remember! It sucks too bc there is nothing you can do to prevent a fall like that Thinking of you guys. ashlantic lol I should try that tactic of telling B it's crackers. Toddlers are definitely weird.
sgio7485 we just started speech and I understand it being sad. But I will say that I think SLPs are superhero magicians- they took my third kid, who was the one the doctor said would NEVER speak- and he now has the largest vocabulary of any of my children, gets great grades and is in the gifted program. Not that speech necessarily did all of that, but they helped unlock it. I always think of it as giving them the power of language, which is so important. My sweet girl has only been to a few sessions and I'm already seeing improvement. Hang in there-you are doing the right thing and being an awesome advocate for your sweet little guy. He's lucky to have you as his mama and I really don't think you will regret this!

I definitely don't think I'll regret it. I think it's absolutely the right thing for him and the right time, which the SLP agreed with. It was nice to have a conversation with a professional who really listened to my concerns and was fully supportive!!
