I just skimmed some randoms from this week - someone (I can't remember who) is trying out special formula. DD1 was on Alimentum for a long time - that S is expensive! Wanted to make sure you knew that some insurance companies will cover the cost, if your doctor fills out some paperwork. At the very least, your pedi should have some samples you can take - we used to get a bunch at every appointment!

That was me!!
Thank you for the info! Should I call my insurance and ask for paperwork?

Our pedi totally will hook us up with samples.
I'd start by calling your pedi's office. They did all the talking to the insurance co for us, there was one nurse on staff who was the point person for all patients for this. They need a medical reason to be on it, and I think it's still hit of miss whether it is covered, but certainly worth a shot! Good luck!
MH just took both kids into daycare - FX that they don't call and ask me to pick either one of them up before 2:30 today. It's my first week back and I've already had to be off for 2 sick days.
I am supposed to go to a baby shower at work today. I know the girl, but not that well and I really want to just get my nails done or a massage instead. I will see her in a few week's time anyway! Thoughts?
I'm happy today our cleaning ladies are coming bc our place really needs a deeper clean than I've been doing.
Sleeping on the couch = uncomfortable, but DH fixed our monitor this morning.
I have my first pelvic PT appt today.
I should be showering right now bc DS is napping and I'll need to get out of here around 11am if I'm going to either the shower or anywhere else.....decisions decisions!
I dropped G off at daycare and I have to take R to his new kindergarten class to meet his teacher. I already want to cry! How is my first baby getting so big? I'm so nervous about all these new changes in our life. My friend and sister who both had kindergarteners last year assured me it's not as bad as they thought it would be. I'm really glad I'm not going to back to work until after the first day, so I can be an emotional mess without having to stress about being back at work too.
Today is my last day of maternity leave. I have a lot of feels. My mom arrives tomorrow to take care of him for a month, which is wonderful but I'm also nervous about having her in our house for that long. Also nervous about work. And pumping.
My FET was a year ago tomorrow. Even more feels. Wow. Still can't believe it some days.

Oh no! I'm guessing one of my 2 will be sick before long. I'm trying to stay planned ahead and have stuff prepped for a sub because I know it's going to happen sooner or later! Probably sooner lol
ellipses, I didn't have a baby shower for this baby and she was not yet working there when I had y first babe. Regardless, I think selfcare is going to come first today!

redt, what is your rotation going back in? I hope it's something NOT so busy that you can't pump, but busy enough to remind you why pediatrics is so awesome

babycaps thanks. I go back to a week of nights, which will be more flexible for pumping, and then 2 weeks of outpatient, so that will also be good. Hopefully I'll get into a routine before I start my inpatient weeks in September. My program is very supportive of pumping and there are lots of people who do it, so I'm optimistic but just feeling anxious. And I feel like I forgot EVERYTHING zomg.
A friend wanted to go do something next week in the morning because her oldest starts preschool and she needs to pick him up by 12... And I declined. I have THREE days of maternity left, I want to enjoy the last of my morning snuggles and not worry about rushing anywhere. I'm an awesome friend.
Obviously I would not be going to that shower babycaps!

It will come back super quickly. The biggest thing I forgot was drug doses. I remember looking up the most basic doses when I first went back last time. And I was off 9 months.

westiemom I hope O's appointment goes well! Ours is Monday.
I'm thinking about talk to the pedi about doing his 4 mo shots a week late or so because he's been sick and is still snotty and has a cough... Idk though
DD is taking a nice nap post vaccinations so I think I will do the same.
Also, though I was still woken up several times overnight, the crib was much better because I was woken up by her general movement and noises. Sleep was much improved. I am happy!

At our 2 mo appt, I have Tylenol right after shots. This time, I decided not to. What reactions would make you give Tylenol after shots? She's asleep now but I'm kind of nervous and don't know what to expect since I dosed her last time.

westiemom , the current recommendations are not to give Tylenol before shots, as some people used to do. They also don't recommend giving it right after just because. There is some evidence that giving it might lessen the effectiveness of the shots, but I believe those studies were only if it was given beforehand. At my clinic they generally say wait and see. If the baby is really fussy and especially if she's not feeding well, give it. If she has a fever but doesn't seem too bothered, you can let it be and watch it, but if it seems to bother her, you can give it. HTH.

We held out on tylenol until nothing would calm them down both vaccination times.
The kids were super fussy sleepers last night. I am hoping since they seem more like themselves today that tonight will be back to normal. If everyone is happy tomorrow I will probably take pictures to post with their weights and such.

mrsw062610 call your insurance for sure! Although mine laughed in my face when I did. Are you able to do Alimentum? We had to start on PurAmino and it's even more expensive than Alimentum. We were so happy that she was able to switch after a few months. I still have some cans of PurAmino, let me know if you need to try it.

H took DS to the doctor since he's had bad congestion/coughing and has been throwing up after eating. He weighs 14 lbs 3.8oz at 2.5 months old. So we majorly upped his Zantac dose because she said what we are giving him isn't even going to touch the reflux. Hopefully the new dosage helps. Poor kid has awful wet burps and then chokes at night because he can't breathe while eating - which leads to the puking. H got puked on last night then I got puked on. So fun.
Yet with everything against him this kid is still growing like crazy! He's in 6 months clothes now. Crazy.
