kaits8 poor dogs! And you! Yay for pumpkin coffee though!!
AFM- I am so busy at work, I decided to work from home to avoid the time spent commuting and getting ready. So far I have:
1. Slept in til 10 am 2. Went out for breakfast- totally got biscuits and gravy. (@justinslovo I have been craving sausage gravy since yesterday!) 3. Caught up with a friend that stopped by.
It's now 1 pm and I need to work. But it's now lunch time. Sigh.
I just got an email from the local baby furniture store that I bought DD's furniture from that they are having a closing sale next weekend. The owners are retiring. I'm so disappointed. I would have gone there for this baby's furniture but I haven't decided if I am going to take DD out of her crib yet. They have great quality furniture and I like to shop local.
skk - we told G last weekend. she was so excited and can't stop talking about it. and she is carrying around her baby doll all the time taking care of it. around 7 weeks she did ask me if I had a baby in my belly because it was getting big.
we are going to have her tell our parents this weekend. should be interesting.
I wanted to wait to tell my 3 almost 4 year old because he can't keep a secret, but my H slipped up and told him. He's been very anxious about wanting "his brother now" (we have no idea yet regarding boy or girl). I managed to calm that down by showing him pictures weekly of what the baby looks like using an app on my phone. We also used the order of Holidays and Birthdays to give him a sense of how long it will be. That seems to help a lot. We also aren't talking about the baby much so it seems to be out of his mind. I think he remembers quite a bit from the later part of my pregnancy with his sister.

Aww, that is the cutest with the baby doll! Have fun telling your parents! Do you have any big plan on how to tell them?
My mom knows, but we haven't told the ILs yet. They are blabbers so they probably won't find out for a few more weeks.

skk, DS will be 4 on Tuesday and DD is 2. I told them because I had some light spotting and was told I should "relax" and not pick up heavy things like toddlers. So, when they've asked for me to pick them up, I told them my doctor said I couldn't right now because of the baby in my tummy. They seemed to take it just fine.

I bought her a big sister shirt and we have a sign that says "I asked for a baby so what did they do? I'm going to be a big sister, to not one but two!"
So, I'm on the West Coast and I always feel so behind when I'm able to log on in the mornings sometimes as late as the afternoon. I feel weird being late to all the parties. I've just become a dirty lurker. So, I've decided to get over myself and jump on in even though some treads are from hours ago!
I'm with you!! Don't just lurk We can be late to the party daily together ^_~

Please chime in any time! I love when people post later in the day, because if everyone checks in first thing in the AM I have nothing new to read when I check the boards later in the day Don't mind me posting super early, I'm on the east coast and am usually up by 7am EST to feed the animals and child, so I start looking for adult interaction early.

My ultrasound is Monday morning. It's been crazy getting ready for DS's party and MIL coming that I haven't had time to think about it. Holy crap, it's only 3 days away.
I got bit by THREE fucking mosquitoes while bringing groceries in from the car. It was like 3 minute span of time that I was outside. WTF!! I don't need that kind of stress in my life. Like damn. Lol.

How old is your DD?
She will have just turned 2 when DD is born. I don't want to but a second crib but she is a restless sleeper and I am almost positive that she will be in our room constantly if she can get out of a bed. If she isn't climbing out, and she start sleeping better I would prefer to keep her I our crib as long as possible, but I don't want to buy a second crib if I don't have to. If I buy a crib I will eventually convert her crib to the toddler bed.

For those of you who supported me in my dilemma yesterday about donating my pumped milk to the toddler mom vs a newborn mom, I have an update!
I browsed the Human Milk 4 Human Babies fb page for my state and was able to help 2 moms. 1 mom is traveling here from out of state for the week and has a 4.5 month old who has had only donor milk so far, so I'm able to give her enough to get through the rest of her trip. The 2nd is a local mom whose son was born 10 weeks early and just came home from the NICU, but is still on oxygen. Mom's supply has remained low due to a stressful birth experience and the NICU stay, so the remaining 350+/- ounces will be going to her son. I feel so much better knowing I'm able to help 2 little babies! I messaged the toddler mom explaining the situation (that I was made aware of a mom with a preemie who desperately needs BM right now), but I haven't heard back. I'm hopeful she will understand...if not, you may get another update here haha
Thanks again, everyone, for your support yesterday!
Remember how I mentioned my H has a binge drinking session once per pregnancy? Welp, seems he picked tonight.
He came back from clay shooting and was drinking with BIL on the porch. He is no longer on the porch. I'm assuming they walked downtown to a bar. (My ILs live in a college town within a few blocks of the main party drag) I'm all fine and dandy about them doing that, but here's the kicker... he's not answering his phone. I'm pissed.
And now I won't be able to fall asleep because I will be worrying about him.
Ugh, sorry for the anxiety lady. I know that feeling all too well and it is the worst. Milk it for all its worth tomorrow

Oh no! Are you anywhere near the Zika region?
Not really--I'm in VA--but I feel very paranoid about it. I feel like this shit is popping up everywhere and I don't want to be next! I just probably need to calm it down a notch. It is scary stuff though!
heytheredelilah I've got the same crib/bed dilemma here. Agreed that if she's not climbing out I want to keep her in the crib as long as possible! @justinslovo I would be so irritated. But yay for knowing where he is!

My son wasn't quite 2 when DD was born. We just bought an inexpensive crib for DD that's she's still in and we converted his to a toddler when he was ready (a few months after she was born.

I'd buy a second crib if it were me. Especially if she's a restless sleeper. New bed and new baby is a lot of change going on.
