Rain is in our forecast too. I'm thinking of taking LO to the farmers market this morning before it gets too bad. Good thing it's covered. Went to our friend's 1 year old birthday party last night. Had a blast. There were a lot of kids for LO to interact with, even a girl her age. LO was so patient and nice. It made me warm and fuzzy inside.
raven that's how I felt yesterday picking up Leo at DC. He had a gold star on his forehead. It was nice to see that after all the he's been hitting reports.
Leo keeps pointing and saying more to this commercial announcing a circus show. I looked up tickets and the cheapest is $40! I've never been but didn't think it cost this much.

A little bit of a crazy day today. I've got BLS class in a bit. DH has left for orientation for the sheriff's dept. so we've got a friend coming over to watch lo.
She's still being a total nutcase. But I can totally see that new tooth pushing up on her gum. So I dug out her amber necklace and put it on her and I'll prob give her some tylenol before I leave.

Side note. I'm so freaking irritated. We were supposed to get our orders like two weeks ago to find out where we're going for the next three years. We still don't have them!! I'm getting so impatient.

littlelion sorry about the rain, but the mall can be a good option. B being cooped up inside all day makes him cranky, he likes people watching haha. Also, that does seem expensive for the cheapest circus tickets to me too. raven it's so fun seeing B with friends and cousins around his age! ourcrazynavylife hope LO perks up and you get your orders. babyw15 hope your unpacking goes quickly and you can fit in some relaxing time.

We drank too much with the neighbors last night and of course right when we were going to bed B woke up screaming. He then threw a huge shit fit bc I couldn't nurse him (even when I offered a cup of milk) Making me realize how hard weaning will be :/ Then I woke up feeling like crap! Feeling a little better now though and we are heading to the pool and grilling with neighbors later (drunk plans for the win haha).
Fuuuuuuck. Now dh has a fever. Whatever this virus is needs to go away. Guess I'm spending the afternoon coating this entire house in Lysol. But on a happy note, I found a really cool alphabet book for lo. It has an animal pose for each letter of the alphabet. I was so excited to spot that at the bookstore. Train table fun at the bookstore. Little bookworm. ❤
littlelion hope you can find some fun rainy day plans. Or just have a lazy day at home. Those are ok too. raven have fun at the farmer's market. ourcrazynavylife fx that tooth pops through quickly. Hope you get your orders soon, how frustrating! babyw15 good luck unpacking. reginaphalange3 have fun swimming and grilling. Hope your hangover goes away quickly. I swear they get worse as we get older. Lol

ashlantic I have to admit I get overwhelmed at bookstores. Too many options and I keep thinking "will leo like this?". & even though he's with me, he won't stay still to read any books that I show him. Recommend a few of your LO's favorite to me!

littlelion Em really likes the touch n feel books by Usbourne. I read her some mother goose nursery rhymes last night and those were a hit (particularly baa baa black sheep).
She also likes really likes her Sophie books. She has the peekaboo ones and a color one that has textures. Pretty much anything with texture to touch she likes.
I am in disbelief. Leo ate the barley vegetable soup I made for lunch. 2 bowls!
The sun is out but after all the cleaning I am pooped. I swept, mopped, washed dishes, vacuumed, and cleaned the bathroom. I'm hoping dh will make time tomorrow to help clean out and organize leo's room and our bedroom.
littlelion current favorites around here are: -The Duck and Goose books by Tad Hills -Boats Go by Steve Light. -Any ABC or counting nook -Baby's first words books. We have an Einstein baby one he loves -Head to Toe by Eric Carle (he loves moving like the animals) -The Bear series by Karma Wilson
That was more than a few lol. I could talk about kid's books all day. If bookstores weren't a dying thing I think I'd be absurdly happy owning my own bookstore for my career.

We have a date night tonight, but we aren't really doing much. We are planning on going to Home Depot, cutting H's hair at home and maybe doing our long run together. We usually pick B up around 8:30ish. We have 2 date nights a month and in an effort to save money we've decided we can only go out one of those nights.
We are in the process of fixing up our guest bathroom. FIL is coming to stay with us for a couple nights in September so we need to finish in about 3 weeks. So far we've taken down the wallpaper and popcorn ceiling, mudded the ceiling, re-chalked the shower/tub. Now we need to buy some spray stuff for the walls for the damaged drywall and pick a bunch of sample colors for the paint. I'm hoping we can get it all done. I want to paint the cabinets too, but I need to pick out a wall color before I decide on the cabinets.
littlelion Yay for a gold star! Hopefully Leo is moving past the hitting stage. As for books, F loves lift-the-flap books like the Spot series, other than those her favourite is Grumpy Bird. ourcrazynavylife Hope you get your orders soon, that's so frustrating! reginaphalange3 Sorry for the rough night ashlantic Cute little book worm! BabyStandish Good for you for running on date night! We watched a movie and ate butter tarts lol
Starting to freak out a bit. I've got to go to target today to get stuff for our trip.
Someone tell me I'm going to survive flying by myself with a toddler.
You can doooooo it! I've survived flying to and being in Disneyland with three kids under 5 by myself. One lil ol toddler isn't bad at all! Just have LOTS of snacks!
I'm just trying to figure out the logistics of it. Like should I check the car seat. Should I gate check it? If the seat next to me is open should I just bring it on the plane?
I was going to bring a carrier of some sort. Should I bring a stroller?

Lol. I feel like I'm seriously overthinking this.
When we flew with lo in Feb. we had him in a stroller. Kept him contained and you can gate check it for free. We didn't pay for a seat for him so he just sat on our laps and we checked the carseat. I put it in the original box and stuffed lots of blankets in it and taped it shut after security checked it out. We had a backpack that had books, snacks, toys etc for lo. We kind of expected the worst and lo surprised us and did really well. Good luck, you got this!
Dh is still sick, so it's just me and lo hanging out today. We originally planned on going to the zoo because it's our first cool day in forever, but scrapped those plans. Took lo grocery shopping instead and got laundry going. Lo's been freaking out when we leave the room at nap and bed. He's fine until I start to walk out the door. He usually calms down if I tell him goodnight over the monitor. It just started out of the blue, it's so weird. Hopefully this is a quick phase because it's so hard to walk away when he's crying and calling "mama, mama!"
ourcrazynavylife congrats to yh! Fx for the next round and that you get to stay put for awhile.
