ivehearditbothways regarding your lopsided boobs...mine only eats one side feeding, has since the very beginning. I actually really like it because only one side fills up at a time. I'd rather wake with one painfully massive boob than two lol

Not even midnight but it feels like MOTN. Decided that instead of waiting until DS woke up and bathing him around 10pm, as we'd done the past two nights, we'd get him up around 7:45. We bathed him, I fed him for a good long time (maybe 50 min) then we'd play with him and try to keep him awake for as long as possible and feed again before "bedtime". DS has now pretty much been awake for the past four hours and 15 min. He dozed off in his crib at one point, only to wake up less than 30 min later with a wet diaper.
He's nursing for the third or fourth time in as many hours right now, and I just neeeeeed him to pass out soon. I keep telling myself he is going to sleep for four or five hours just because I don't remember him EVER staying awake for this long, but we'll see.
I'm so worn out and keep crying during these long nights. We just had an awful crying for last a good 10 minutes, thinking it was gas, only for DS to be instantly soothed by my boob. I hate that the only think that can always calm this kid down is one of my body parts.
DD has been asleep since 10 and I'm laying in bed awake and tired. She's starting to fuss so there's no point in even trying to sleep until after the next feeding. Ugh. I think I had too much caffeine/soda today.

hummingbird125 - ((hugs)). "Sleep begats sleep" at this age. Sometimes those hours long awake jags are unavoidable (and awful), but when you can you often get better sleep if you let them nap as much as possible. DD3 will occasionally stay awake about an hour, but is also often right back down after a feed.
We had our midnight feed half an hour early and DD3 is now not settling. This would be a lot easier if she didn't wake up 10 min. after I laid her down screaming.
I cut coffee today to humor DH. I'll give it 3 or 4 days before declaring that it did nothing this time, just like every other time. I wish he got that what our kids hate is being flat on their backs, no more no less. He refuses to believe it.

Here! Kind of annoyed actually...i could and should be sleeping, but my massive rock hard engorged boobs clearly have minds of their own and know that DD needs to wake up in fifteen minutes so she can eat and help relieve some of my pain, so I'm up waiting. Still have a headache and lots of pain in my boobs but an ibuprofen earlier helped and I'm trying to hydrate a lot more. Love that this little girl likes sleeping in her bassinet!
Hugs to everyone having rough nights. 😕 Everything seems so much worse at night, at least for me.
Tonight is infinitely better than last night. DH took the first shift since he knew I was exhausted. So I went to bed around 10, and he fed her at about 10:45, got her to sleep and brought her up.
Then she had a five hour stretch between feedings and just woke up at 3:45! So I got the most amount of sleep since she was born. I'm hoping DH will do this more often.
I messed up the diaper change last feed meaning she peed all over her PnP, swaddle and outfit. Yay for motn bed and clothing changes!!! Now she is wide awake from crying while I changed the PnP

Oh no! 😔 I've done that. Hope she settles back down quickly.

Woo! My plan kind of actually worked. DS was awake for about 4.5 hours total - much of it feeding or happy:alert, some of it hysterical, but when he FINALLY fell asleep around midnight, he stayed that way until 3:45am!
He just woke up and DH changed him. Now I'm nursing and crossing my fingers that he wants to give us one more stretch of good sleep.
Glad to see (but sorry for y'all!) that I'm not the only one with the latch on, latch off (haha, like karate kid!) problem. It certainly makes MOTN feeding more frustrating when there seems to be no end in sight.
Everyone in this house thinks it's cute to rock the baby to sleep all day but then I'm the one up allllll night with him. Then listening to him whine this morning while DH keeps hitting the snooze button. No. Get the hell up.

@suesposa I keep trying to swaddle and she haaaates it. I have so many different ones (DS was the world's worst sleeper and I tried everything), and she seems to get panicked by all of them. Not having her hands free really wigs her out. But she's also not sleeping so maybe I'm doing it wrong.
We have the swaddle pods. I'm fan because there are two zippers. So for diaper changes I can just unzip from the bottom up without taking the entire thing off. And ps they're on sale on Amazon right now!
