BFN I think... Guidance Desired

Hi Everyone,

As some of you know, I've been in my very first TWW after using Letrozole, Ovidrel, and Progesterone Gel. I'm scheduled for my beta this Wednesday, however, I'm pretty sure that I got my period where today would be Day 1 or tomorrow would be Day 1 (it's tough timing of when it became full flow-ish). Today is CD26 so historically tomorrow would be my CD1 though last month I had a 30 day cycle and was hopeful that might become my new norm.

A little TMI:

Have any of you used tampons and progesterone at the same time? I'm definitely bleeding more than I'm comfortable with on a pad (and it's kind of goopy and a different consistency than I'm used to). They told me to keep using the progesterone until Wednesday even if I got my period but if my flow gets heavy tomorrow I'll really need to use a tampon. Just figured I'd ask you wonderful people since I likely won't be able to talk to the doctor until tomorrow afternoon. 

Also, anyone have any guidance on how much bleeding is normal where it could still be a BFP? I'm not hopeful at this point but still curious.

First off, I am so sorry for the possible bfn. 😞

Second, I'm not much help with progesterone and tampons. Whenever I was on progesterone and I started bleeding, there was little question if it was my period. It would start full force. I would take a HPT and when I saw the bfn I stopped the progesterone. Still went for the beta draw... But it was always negative. Which I knew, but I always went to make sure.

Thanks dannigirl!! I wasn't going to do a hpt until Wednesday because I think anything sooner is too soon. I'm tempted to do one tomorrow but feel like it could just mean nothing given that it would only be 12 days post iui. I'm not sure if I should try one. My period also came on a bit stronger today than is usual for my typical beginning.

I'm sorry about the bleeding. It's the worst and makes your heart race. There could be many reasons why you're bleeding and you can still be pregnant. The heaviness of the flow is concerning to me. But.... my best friend was trying to get pregnant and had what she thought was a very heavy period. So heavy that she almost went to the ER. She told her husband once the period stops they should start trying. Long story short, she got a BFP the next month and went in for her u/s and saw a 14 week baby in there. Turns out she was in fact pregnant when she was having that heavy bleeding. So anything is possible.

karlamo wow that's amazing! I guess I'll keep some small hope though I'm not holding my breath lol. I did just buy a hpt for tomorrow morning. I figure if it's negative that's likely accurate and if it's positive it's either false from the ovidrel or could be accurate. But I'll still get my beta test on Wednesday.

rosesquared Fingers crossed that you still get that BFP. 12 days post IUI isn't bad for HPT's. I got a positive HPT on day 11. Though I couldn't wait and did a couple tests prior to make sure the Ovidrel was out of my system.

Sooooooo my hpt this morning was a BFN... And I'm pretty sure today is CD2 so I have to figure out meds for tomorrow!

Sorry lady. I always stopped the progesterone once I got a bfn and was bleeding. Hugs.

We're so sorry to hear. I think I've told you this before, but we found our first bfn to be especially hard. We convinced ourselves that the odds were in our favor since we didn't have any known issues. Take care of yourselves and if it's helpful, find something fun to do!
