Survived my first class last night... I did manage to walk into the wrong classroom and then have my cell phone ring during lecture (ugh!) aaaaand I left feeling really stupid, but it is what it is. I keep telling myself that I'm really smart, I have a post-grad degree already, and a handful of undergrad classes will not be that bad. Just have to make time and study! On another note, DH left last night to go out of town for work for a few days, and he's going out of town again at the end of the week for a race. His mom agreed to babysit since LO can't go to daycare, but she went on and on and on this morning about how she thought DH's priorities were screwed up and how he didn't help her when she needed it (totally different situation!) and allllllllll this other stuff that made me super uncomfortable. At 6:30am. While I'm still in my bathrobe because she's 30 min early. So yeah, fun way to start the day. Hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday!
ourcrazynavylife good luck! Your mom is going to love being surprised! Is your MIL still crashing your trip or did you shut that down? laceysbryan how odd of your MIL. Sorry your lo is sick! Hope he feels better soon. Glad your 1st day of class went ok. Good for you for going back to school.
Lo definitely woke up on the wrong side of the bed, despite going to sleep early last night. Threw a fit because I took the time to peel his clementine instead of immediately getting him a piece of cheese. I really hope this isn't how the rest of the day is going to go.

I fucking hate Delta airlines.
They didn't have enough staff at the check-in counter so we stood in line forever and missed our flight. Now I have to entertain my toddler in the airport for three hours.

Any cloth diaper people here? Any idea what you're going to do for potty training? I know they have pull up type cloth diapers. We are still far from potty training here, but I'm starting to wonder what we do. Do we just unsnap it off each time?

Ugh what a pain. Sending happy toddler vibes your way!

Hangry toddlers grate on my nerves. Yesterday I kept thinking why do I bother to warm up the food if I then have to spend time cooling it off? All the while listening to Leo crying.
ourcrazynavylife ugh, such bullshit. Hoping Em is behaving herself. Sending free-upgrade-to-first-class vibes your way. BabyStandish we are in the same boat as you. Lo is showing zero signs and I am clueless about potty training. If you find any good tips let me know.

Omg, yes. Or the 20 seconds it takes to actually grab the food and put it on a plate/bowl. Sorry I'm not a wizard that can just magically make food appear, bossy toddler of mine.

Will do. I'm not sure if it's worth getting the pull up cloth if he's only going to use them for a few months, but I may get 1 or 2 for when we are out and about. Probably won't worry about it for a few more months. He's still happy to sit in his own filth lol

We go straight to underwear over here. It's messy for a few days, but they get the hang of it.

ourcrazynavylife ugh sorry for the rough start, hope LO was good for you!! Not sure about Google play but if you have Amazon prime I got their video app and you can download some of their free prime videos (for the way back since I'm sure it's too late for your flight today) laceysbryan you'll do great in your class!! Weird about your mil though! Hope LO is feeling better. ashlantic we've had moody toddler here too. I get that they probably don't grasp patience at this age but I (incorrectly) assumed that since he realizes what I'm doing when I'm getting food ready that he would calm down, but no luck! BabyStandish no cloth here but good luck figuring it out. A lot of people seem to have luck with the 3 day (I think it's called 'oh crap') method which only involves naked time and underwear. I may try that when the time comes. littlelion lol yes, hangry babies are the worst!! (And I often give B cold leftovers for that reason - especially like grilled chicken or something I might eat cold on a salad...if he eats it I figure it's fine) kcrus from yesterday, I'm at a small private school so if people can get other jobs they often do because the pay and benefits are practically double! It's just unusual so many would leave so late! (Although the public schools do hire a lot last minute too)

Ah last day of summer vacation technically...inservice days tomorrow and Thursday We met our friend at the park this morning now we are headed to the pool!
Ladies this is super weird. So I only had the fever and also the joint/muscle aches. No nausea or tummy troubles. My fever broke last night after taking Advil and then this morning I am just sore (not as bad as the fever aches) and my stomach muscles are sore like it hurts when I cough or move. Totally weird. Oh well hopefully I am on the upswing. LO and I slept in until 8:30 the took a nap from 12-2:30. Now we are chilling on the couch.
Took LO to storytime this morning at a different library. Our district has 5-6 branches all over town and each one hosts the "Tales for Tots" storytime a different day. There were a lot of kids, lots of ages. I didn't realize they were styled different from branch to branch, but not in a bad way. This one had more music, and LO LOVES to dance! I recognized one of the ladies leading the story time (possible since my BIL started as a librarian here and just recently got promoted to the fancy big Denver Public Library), but I didn't stick around to find out if they knew each other. I'm socially awkward and have a hard time making small talk. DH called anyway to find out where were; I just kind of left the house with out letting "working from home" DH know where we ran off. After that, LO and I went to Target. I bought her a toy for Christmas (I'm weird) and found it cheaper on Amazon. I'll return it tomorrow, and order it online. I already know she likes it. It kept her entertained while mommy shopped for stuff she doesn't really need but is going to buy anyway. Nothing planned here for the rest of the day. I've paid the bills already. I guess I could fold and put away the laundry, but I'm trying to put it off until tomorrow.

We made it to our connecting city. About an hour layover then we'll be on our last flight.
Lo did sooo well. She played for two hours. Then slept for an hour and a half. She woke up for the last twenty minutes of the flight cuz I was trying to get my seatbelt back on.

reginaphalange3 hope you had a good last day of summer break! babyw15 that sounds a lot like what just went around our family. Hope you feel better soon! raven I'm jealous of your abundance of libraries! And not at all weird- I have some Christmas and birthday gifts stashed away in the basement for lo. If I see a good deal, I'm going to get it! kcrus hope tomorrow is a better day! ourcrazynavylife have a great trip! Glad Em was a rock star traveler.
