Also, I just made a huge commitment to help coach at a local HS (my alma mater and also where I coached for 6 years) because they literally had no one to do it. Me and my BFF will be doing it together, but it just seems overwhelming to have that commitment now that I actually said yes.
I have a bad headache, and feel like crap in general, but had to go in today. I have a long complex letter due to a client on Friday, and I'm leaving Thursday (omg that's tomorrow!) for an attorney retreat out of town. Hopefully I'm able to concentrate and get stuff done.
muskiefan that does sound a no overwhelming, but also fun.

My boss sent me a dozen emails between when I went to sleep last night and 7am this morning. She's away for the next 2 days, and I think she's just panicking about...everything? A lot of them don't even make complete sense.
Good luck today @justinslovo! That's so exciting and overwhelming muskiefan. What sport?? glb30 good luck and feel better! AFM I'm working an extra day this week (today) and I don't want to -ha! I also didn't sleep well because of really vivid dreams, mostly about my Dr appt tomorrow. I'm really excited and nervous bc I'm getting blood drawn for the genetic screening and can't wait for results
Is there a reason for a daily random thread instead of one ongoing one?
I wondered this same thing. We have a monthly randoms on my other BMB and I think it works well. If you don't check in everyday you shouldn't feel the need to read all the randoms.

I also prefer daily. I'm all about no one feeling required to read every post or "catch up," but a lot of people do feel that way. Long threads are intimidating.

I like daily random threads, but full disclosure I've never been on a board with weekly/monthly threads. I also don't have a problem going back to an old randoms thread and continuing an ongoing conversation if there's one happening.

I feel slightly more energetic today. Could the first tri fatigue be lifting?? I'm writing this while laying on my couch, listening to my toddler move the dog kennel around, so I'm certainly not up to full speed, but I don't feel like passing out!

Waiting for my u/s. We've been here 45 min and I think H will have to leave soon to get back to work. It would suck if he missed it. But I would leave if I could.

This is the worst. They make you be there early and then they run behind. With my anatomy scan it was an hour late.

Guise, talk to me about caffeine consumption. I've been avoiding it all together because I'm so paranoid. But on a morning like today, I really could've used a cup of coffee. Someone tell me that it's really OK. Or not.

Also, someone hug me. I think I might have to give up chipotle for a little bit. While it tastes good in the moment, the aftertaste it leaves in my mouth makes me want to constantly gag and puke. I'm so sad.

ladytiffany24 the book I read said caffeine is fine if you want it, up to 2-3 cups a day (the author drank 4 cups a day based on what she'd read). This was Expecting Better. Even Mayo Clinic says 1-2 a day is fine.
Researcher talk: All the evidence for caffeine in correlational studies can basically be linked to the fact that people with morning sickness have fewer miscarriages, and tend to not want coffee. So they drink less. The one experimental study (they mailed pregnant women coffee, some got decaf) shows no effect of caffeine. That's really the only way to know it's the coffee and not something else.

There are studies that show that if you have the caffeine in one standard cup of coffee it has no effect on the babe.

It's totally fine to have a cup of coffee a day and then even a soda
ladytiffany24 - I tried to stick to 1 cup of tea or can of pop a day with my last pregnancy. Also, I'm sorry about the food taste issue. I can relate. Last time, a lot of things passed in the 1st trimester, so I'll hope the same for you.
I've already eaten all my snacks for the day and it's only noon. It looks like I'll be foraging later on this afternoon to find more. I also forgot my afternoon Zofran at home, so I'm crossing my fingers I'll survive without it.
I'm on the coffee train. Actually, once my aversion to coffee went away after four weird weeks, my caffeine addiction came back and the headaches started if I didn't have my morning coffee I'm glad more than one is safe because Tylenol + caffeine is my go-to while I"m pregnant for headaches / migraines
Good morning .. err.. for most of you, afternoon! It was a good morning at work, even though I'm still trying desperately to keep the coughing under control I am DEFINITELY on the way to getting rid of this. Yay! Hard as heck to get out of bed though ><
Tomorrow is my next MFM appointment. I have to admit, I don't think I could go back to the normal OB schedule for pregnancies. I'd go nuts with one or two ultrasounds and just doppler. I am sooo spoiled. I went through hell to get to being this, but I guess I'll be happy I have it.
Grr.. for those of you stuck with appointments where they don't let the husbands hear heartbeats, where they are running so far behind every time that the husbands can't stay, etc. I am so sorry! We had that at our last appointment, but from here on out, I got the 8:30am appointments, so I hope that solves it.
I'm also for one day threads.. truth? I feel guilty because I don't feel energetic and don't feel like I have the time to respond to each person by name on days like this.

Finally got taken back and H was able to stay! He couldn't stick around for the consultation after (or the fun blood draw I'm still waiting for) but he saw the fun part
