I don't like my PCP much and I'm not totally sure about the RE but they are in the same hospital system and their online portal is super convenient and quick with posting results, at least.

Oh no! You can try just contacting the attorney for the person who sued "you" (or the person if no attorney) and explain, they usually will realize the mistake and re-serve it and you'll be fine. They might want some proof (like proof of address at the time or anything they have to ID the other person that does not apply to you). You can get something in writing from them just to protect yourself...and make sure nothing shows up on credit reports or anything that really belongs to the other person.
If they're unreasonable about it, you may have to go to court to prove to the court it's the wrong person. Is it in small claims?
ETA: If they won't just fix the mistake, I'll give you more info about how to deal with the court part of it!

Where were you when you were served? People are always being served at the most random places on TV, rather than at predictable places like at home or at work. I always wondered if that actually happens. 😛

Thank you! H said to maybe try calling the courthouse to see if they can do it on their end. I think the paperwork has the last 4 of her SSN on it and it is for sure not the same as mine.
