Sorry it's taken so long, but life with two kids seems to produce way less time for me be on my phone, much less things like shower.
So R was born Wednesday of last week, labor brought on my induction. I was induced due to being dilated to a 4 and 50% effaced for a week. My doctor was concerned that my labor may come fast since it was my second and I may not come in as soon as she would like due to a high pain tolerance. That mixed with living out of town and being really tired of being pregnant ment induction was best for us.
We got to the hospital about 7:30, it took multipal sticks by 3 different people and a lot of waiting to get my IV started. Finally about 9:30 it was going they started a low does of potocin, but never checked my dilation. Dr came by at 11 broke my water and said she figured R would be here by 5 o'clock and recommended that if I thought I water an epidural to go ahead and get it. She knows I have a high pain tolerance, but one I reach a certain point all that flys out the window and j go from a 3 to a 10 pain scale in minutes. I get the epi about 45 minutes later and it is magic!
Around 1:30 the nurses come in to check my cervix. I'm at an eight so they came back 30 minutes later. Two of them check and then start moving rather quick, but trying to act calm. Saying thing like " we need to call the doctor and see if she can come over soon, then may be do a practice push". Then they both gave each other looks of I'm done lying to her, RUN!!! Two minutes later my doctor walked in the room. (Her office is next door to the hospital, and she was seeing patients) so she got there super quick. They put me in the leg things, she said lets push, they counted to 4... Stop! ( head out), Next push was a full push to 10, the last push was a full 10 count then she was on my belly and simply perfect!
It was a super easy labor, and I have healed much quicker than with DD1. I had a few stiches but lost a lot of blood making me anemic. But they took great care of me at the hospital. DH did okay at this too, but things got crazy at work and he was gone more than I would have liked.
We got home on Friday and my big girl has been in love with "her baby" ever since. She had a blast staying with my inlaws, but missed mom and dad more than she let on. She has said everyday since Friday when we picked her up how much she missed us, but it was okay "because we came and picked her up"
I'm going to post now and go back to bed. I'll finish up in the morning!
