Went to the cardiologist today because I was concerned about R. R's pressure gradient under his pulmonary valve increased dramatically so the cardiologist thinks surgery should be scheduled in the next few weeks as opposed to 2-3 months out. He said he was happy that I called with my concern to have him seen. It's terrifying knowing surgery will be scheduled and we will have a date, but at the same time, it will be nice to stop worrying about him all the time and have our family start the new "normal" sooner.

I am glad you followed your gut. Keep us updated on R!
What do you guys do when they outgrow the bassinet? I think it's time to move him, he barely fits anymore. I think my only options are pack & play in my room or his crib in his room. The bottom pad that comes with the pack and play seems really hard/ not comfy- do you use that or buy a mattress to put over it?
My pedi (and the olds in my family) say the PNP pad is fine. Baby basically only likes soft stuff if you get him used to having soft stuff. I have a PNP in my bedroom that was supposed to be LO's bed...but we bedshare smh.
I don't think a mattress is necessary, but it can't hurt. It may also be a good time to transition to his crib, depending on how you feel about getting up in the middle of the night.
yea I think we're going to try to crib. I get up to go nurse in his room every 2 hours anyways. It's quieter for H and it's just comfy to rock in the glider. So nervous about the crib but we'll see how it goes!
Thinking of you venyia! Sorry about the power outage, kokopelli, but glad to hear that baby is big and strong and healthy! Thinking of you and your little man shanny.
Thanks, you guys. Sitting in the waiting room for the radiologist to make their assessment then consult with my doctor. The ultrasound tech was really sweet, got us a cute profile of babyface on a printout.
I am having contractions, still, and SO was flabbergasted and highly amused watching my belly scrunch up during the ultrasound. I laughed at him right back.
This guy had a rough time earlier with some gas. Normally he eats around 8:30/9 and then again at 10:30 but he's been passed out for so long now. I wanted to wake him but he looks so peaceful. Guess we're skipping that one. I have a feeling we'll be up quite a bit tonight

Hi guys! I'm back if you'll have me.
I took a hiatus from the board because over a week of "false" labor was killing me slowly. To make it even harder, my pubic born started separating so I couldn't walk without incredible pain so I just literally laid around for a week miserable. I'm lucky H loves me.
I'll post a birth story soon but ended up caving and letting the doc induce to out me out of my misery. It was less than three hours and amazing. I feel like an a hole because I abandoned you guys (also work and pretty much everyone). Anyway, baby M is doing great and settling into the family nicely.

You're not an a hole. You had to take care of yourself!
Ok, bpp came out perfect, so baby gets to chill for now. I was almost wrapped all the way around the idea that there could be a baby tonight, so I feel a little let down. Now, I just want these totally irregular contractions to pick up and mean something. I mean, I am at 3cm, so, don't they keep you in the hospital if you show up at 4?

What are you guys doing for gas? Nothing is working over here and the dr keeps saying "he'll grow out of it" but it hurts to see my guy in so much pain.
The Windi worked really well for us in the past. Watch out for a ton of poop with it though!!!
Now DH is annoyed with me because I didn't want him taking DD to the airport with him to pick up his sister because it's over an hour each way. I don't know maybe I am being being overprotective, it just seems like a lot.

I was there for days. No advice just commiseration.
coffeequeen14 , thanks! And congrats on your little one's arrival.
My DD is being so sweet, she just snuggles my belly and gives "baby siter" kisses. Aww.
annbuhdan, you would think my optimism would be totally dead by now, but I am hoping hard for tonight/tomorrow. I could go with a due date baby, tomorrow.

Waiting until 16 weeks (how long it took for my other 2) plus my little tricks from the tummy troubles thread.
At this point I figure it's just a good thing nobody remembers being a newborn, because boy it must suck to be a newborn.
