**please don't quote...I'll poof the photo and names later.
I was scheduled to be induced at 37 weeks exactly as the current recommendation for mono-di twins (twins sharing a placenta) so to have them delivered between 36-37 weeks.
Checked into the hospital at 11am. I was 3 to 4cm dilated. They hooked me up to all the monitors. After 4 attempts by 2 different nurses to get my IV in and me almost passing out, the anastethiologist came and did it. By 2:45pm, they started me on the lowest dose of pitocin...2 drips per hour. At 4pm, my doctor said she was on her way in so they upped the pitocin to 4 drops per hour. Contractions finally started to be consistent and were moderately painful. By 530pm, contractions were getting more painful and since I was so hooked up to tons of monitors, I couldn't move around to labor so I asked for the epidural. Epidural was in just before 6pm and I was 7cm dilated. By 640pm, I had a ton of pressure, got checked and was 8cm so my doctor went to check on another patient. Not even 10 minutes later my body couldn't stop from pushing. We called the nurse and doctor and immediately was set up to push.
2 big pushes and E was born at 706pm weighing 5lbs 10oz and 18inches. Then we had a teeny break for baby B to lower into the birth canal. 2 more big pushes and A was born at 714pm weight 6lb 4oz and 18.5 inches long.
Recovery has been amazing. I had no tearing or stitches. My uterus has contracted way down and both babies have been nursing champs - just trying to figure out tandem nursing. Lol We are so blessed to have such an amazing doctor that supported and advocated for our vaginal delivery.
