I have my midwife appt this morning. I need to keep an eye on traffic, which is the downside of the first appt of the day.
I sent an uncomfortable work email just now. I hope no one is offended or thinks I say no to everything. I feel like I have legitimate reasons to say no, and my boss thinks I should say no. I just wish she could do it for me.

Charlie horses are the worst! But I think I might take my chances if it meant additional times up to pee in the middle of the night. Is potassium supposed to help? Maybe a banana before bed (if it does)?
I too woke up at 3 AM. I have no idea why, and I tossed and turned for an hour or better. Now I have to work all day, so after the designated hour of waiting for my thyroid pill, coffee will be in my hands.
I kept kicking the dog off the bed, every time I'd turn she'd get right back up, and 5 minutes later I would kick her right back off. I felt bad.

I'm here. And working from home today which I'm super happy about. It was unexpected due to childcare issues but I ain't mad. The only downside is our house is being cleaned today so I can't relax as much as I'd like to.
I just got to work. Im taking tomorrow and Friday off for a wedding, so I'm really just trying to get organized. I need to figure out where in my office to hang my diplomas and pictures bc the picture hanging guy is coming Friday. I also need to decorate this office more in general. It's barren. I need a plant. And some pictures.
So, I guess we could've had an early morning chat with everyone having trouble sleeping! Add me to that! (I slept great 9-3 but 3-4:20 was awful and that's when I'm up for the day!)
I want to throttle one of my co-workers. I told him Id be taking time off around Christmas and New Year's Day and he said: "you're going to be off for 12 weeks next year, why do you need more time?" I politely said, "I don't qualify sleep deprivation and a baby attached to my boobs as 'off time' and I have the PTO." f him.
ETA: we all have 12/26 off and I was planning to take 12/29 and 12/30 off. 2 days.
so unfortunately, I had terrible charlie horses all thru my pregnancy with DD. I drink a ton of water and have been chugging gatorade as well. I tried to eat a banana this morning and almost gagged. FWP of a pregnant lady

Had a good appt with the MW. Much shorter than the others - just taking my vitals and talking about nutrition for a bit. I did actually like this MW the best but for reasons I can't explain - I think she was just clearer and I understood her better.
My hips are so sore already. Oh boy. I also had this crazy dream. My co worker was getting fired and for some reason that meant Clara was leaving me forever. I woke crying.

callmeKD there are several foods that are good sources of potassium besides bananas, but of course I have no idea how your morning sickness will react to them!
Beans Dark, leafy greens Potatoes Squash Yogurt Fish Avocado Mushrooms
There's also coconut water, but I seem to be the only person who likes it.
I found a doctor yesterday! I'm so incredibly relieved to have found someone and not to have had to settle for one of the ones who makes me really nervous. This doctor is a bit of an unknown as she just finished her residency this spring but I've had great experiences with young, female doctors in the past so I'm optimistic.

I tried to go play on the sitewide NHIE thread but it's too hard to keep up. I gave out some LTs though.
I'm WAH which means I get to actually work on longterm tasks, but I'm not very motivated right now. I have gotten motivated to sweep and pick up around the first floor. Once in grad school I was so unmotivated to do my work that I cleaned my oven - maybe I'll get there today, lol.
Sorry for charlie horses and sleepless nights. Yay for working from home, and MWOB visits!
muskiefan, that is ridiculous. But glad you set him straight.
@priss08, I JUST commented to DH last night that I have no idea how we go through so many dishes. We unloaded the dishwasher before dinner, and it was full and ready to be run by time we cleaned up dinner. Seriously, there are only 3 of us, and we aren't that messy of cooks!

I feel like part of ours always fills up first and we end up running it semi-full. Like the top will be full and we'll need more glasses/bowls, but there's only 1 plate in the bottom. And vice versa. I wish we could run them separately sometimes.

That's a really good idea. Now I'm going to spend the day looking to see if such a dishwasher exist.

Drawer dishwashers exist, but I think you can either get 2 connected drawers and always have to run them at the same time (lame), or you can buy a separate drawer and install that maybe in addition to a regular dishwasher. I don't think I've seen stacked ones that run separately.
We had all of the materials to finish our basement delivered today, via massive flatbed and a fork lift...right into our driveway. My mom and brother came over to help get the stuff that shouldn't get wet moved into the basement b/c a lot of it is really heavy & I can only do so much while watching DD. H was napping and planning to leave early for work to workout, but I said "ok...my mom and brother are here moving everything.." which he understood meant "so you need to get out there and help, husband." So he ended up storming out the door to work after, all pissed off that he didn't get to work out. I understand he needs his time to blow off steam, etc but when there's stuff at home that I can't do (like move the materials for what was supposed to be "his project"), he needs to either do it earlier in the day or accept that it comes before his workout. Stuff sat in our driveway for 5+ hours before my family showed up; he could have at least made a dent in moving things at any point in those 5 hours.
The lawn has also needed to be mowed for 3 days now (I HATE when our yard doesn't look like we take care of it) and he just gets mad every time I ask. We bought a riding mower this year specifically so he didn't have a reason to complain about cutting the grass! I want to learn how to use it, but he just gets angry when I ask him to show me "b/c he will cut it". I weed wacked just now at least, so maybe he'll notice in the morning that half of the yard work is done and now it's his turn.
Husbands, man. (Note: He is wonderful and just gets stressed from work and feels like he never gets a break/down time..but we're adults; there's sh*t to do, you can play your computer games after.)
I told my boss today. Way earlier than I wanted to, but he was a little irritated I was out of pocket yesterday when something needed to get out- while I was at the OB following up on my spotting. He was very nice about it- which is good since I started here about 6 weeks ago. 😳
