We are hanging out at my mom's house today so my grandma could see the girls. It's a nice break. Tonight we have meet the teacher for DD1's pre-k class that starts next week. I can't wait for it to start, it will be a nice break!
Guess who's tiny bumps came back- and who was up all night with belly pains.
Fuck you cheesecake and cheese fries and all things dairy why oh why must you be so cruel.
I just put dinner in the crockpot. Chicken, salsa, cheddar soup. Thought "oh good thing I got sour cream the other day. Oh wait I can't eat the sour cream. Oh wait, I can't eat cheese"
I can't remember what it was like with DD1 waiting for my milk to come in. All I know is, I have no pacifiers, my kids woke each other up overnight, and DD2 is definitely hungry. My resolve to ebf is being seriously tested, because the times I could have slept last night were impossible due to DD2 getting upset at no boob. How can I even hand kids off to my SO this morning if all DD2 is going to do is root and cry because she is hungry? I am so tired I am shaking. I KNOW it gets better, but oh my god this part sucks.

I almost sent DH to the store at 1 a.m. for formula to tide us over, but my milk finally came in. That part really does suck.
DD weighs 11 pounds so I have to take the infant insert out of her car seat (Chicco Keyfit). She looks so tiny in the seat now, but I can't believe how fast she is growing! DD1 is off the charts for height/weight, I think DD3 is following in her footsteps.
gratefulgirl, SO is gonna have to go to Target for at least some pacis today. Might have to have him talk me out of a bottle to try. My cousin sent a bunch of formula, so it would be really easy to make up an ounce or two. I have no help today after SO goes to work... my mom was here yesterday for awhile and will be back tomorrow but she couldn't do today. If formula would magically get both kids to nap at the same time this afternoon, so I could sleep, too.... ahhhh

venyia - hugs!!! I supplemented for the first few days with formula, and it did not mess up my plans to EBF - which we began on day 5. DS had low blood sugar and was hungry, and my colostrum didn't seem to be enough to satisfy him. Just saying, it is not the end of the world if you decide to supplement until your milk comes in, and if you get a little extra sleep encase of it, that's a bonus!
I am so excited bc DS1 got the teacher I hoped he would have. She used to teach kinder with me so I know for a fact she is an excellent teacher and has the right kind of personality to really reach him. He has decided that he is excited for first grade. He also is on the verge of losing his front teeth, lol. I took a few pics of him today bc they may be the last before he is toothless for a while.
Afternoon. Today was the first day I took DD out by myself and it was a success. It was just a dr appointment but we were there over an hour and they kept moving us to different rooms so I was surprised she stayed asleep. The admin assistant and a lady in the waiting room asked me SO many questions so I texted H and said "I'm going to have to get used to small talk from strangers now, aren't I?" I am not one to have random conversations out in public.
Has anyone experienced this? DS was dead asleep and started crying his brains out but he was still asleep. I was right next to him and put my hand on his belly and said his name and he stopped. And resumed being asleep. He did it two more times and it freaked me out so I woke him up.

All my kids do that, except they rarely stop. I have always guessed gas. DD1 even used to do it in the wrap. It stopped by the end of newborn tummy troubles.

venyia so cute!! Sorry about the struggle with the milk. Hopefully it comes in soon! I know a lot of people who have supplemented in the beginning and then went on to ebf just fine. Do whatever you need to do to keep yourself sane!

We have this tropical storm coming in tonight, which is supposed to be a hurricane by the time it makes landfall last I heard. Everything is already so flooded. I'm just hoping we don't lose power!

My county cancelled school tomorrow. I'm inland enough that there's barely any rain here but I've heard closer to the bay is a mess
Of course we get two hurricane days and I start teaching again on the 12th.
Got to nap for a couple hours... feeling more human again, at least. Colostrum is turning milky now instead of clear, so I am hoping that is a good sign.
Now I have a hungry toddler who is telling me she needs a diaper change but wouldn't let her dad do it. Aaand a sleeping baby attached to my boob. Bleh. Prioritization is hard.

Yeah, we're close to the water on the coast here and the flooding is crazy. Fortunately my particular street isn't bad yet. And of course it would happen like that! :/
