My ILs are leaving today (they've been here for a week) and my parents are coming for the long weekend. I just hope there's enough time in between to clean and get my head on straight.
H has a work thing this afternoon before my parents get here. It will be the first time I've been alone with the babies. I'm nervous but ready to see if I can do it.
I'm starting to really dislike the crib because DD sleeps so poorly in it. Putting her in it usually wakes her up and she won't fall back to sleep unless I take her out.
I also think I have a clogged duct. I'm guessing from not feeding as much on Wednesday due to all the moving stuff/time in the car. She did eat almost continuously yesterday, but it still feels really tender.
pttomato lots of massaging the area while she's eating. Clogged ducts are the worst, I hope it resolves soon.
I'm on a mission to get a cake ordered for DD1's 4th birthday. She's really into stormtroopers and her heart is set on a stormtrooper cake. I'm having a hard time finding one that won't cost a fortune. This is when I wish I was good at making stuff like this. I might just buy some stormtrooper figurines, stick them on a cake and call it a day. Then she can have figures to play with too. Win-win?

Good morning! I'm headed to the allergy doctor to see what they think about my crazy skin. Hopefully they can do something to reduce the itching.. Ugh
Not happy about taking little one into another Dr's office, but seriously started to cry when my mom said she'd watch her while MH drove me. Not ready.

I did this for a Thomas cake. Cake had a track on it and we added the Thomas the Tank Engine.
So apparently i can fully function on only 3 hours of sleep. My son is going to kill me I think, he gets so fussy from 10 to 2 am then finally settles and is up at 4 then 6 to eat like clockwork then up from 7 to 10 awake I'm not sure how he is gaining weight and growing with such little sleep at least my little man sleeps better than the other one I guess
DD and I survived our first trip out just the 2 of us. We met up with my cousin and her mom crew at Target (of course lol). The pacifier was helpful, and my boobs are feeling so much better already. She even gave me two 4 hour stretches back to back last night, that and a cup of coffee have me feeling sort of like myself again.
Also, a PSA- I bought Haakaa silicone breast 'pump' to catch the milk from let down on the opposite boob. I've already got 3oz frozen from yesterday's feedings. Totally worth it.
DD had her first bottle of pumped milk last night and took it just fine, which is great. Hopefully she continues to accept breast or bottle.
Did she still want the breast afterwards? I've been giving the boy bottles because I'm starting to feel touched out. But in the evenings he still wants the boob even after drinking almost 3oz from a bottle.
He's just dicking me around, isnt he? I often imagine that he's a slightly evil mastermind and most thing he does are just power moves to show me that he's still in charge.
I just pumped 2 oz to see if she would even take it, and we offered it during her evening cluster feeding time so the bottle filled her up for about an hour? But she eats pretty much constantly at that point of the night anyway.
My in laws are 45 minutes away but aren't coming till after lunch tomorrow because they want to shop and have a nice dinner out. Idk it rubs me the wrong way to drive 10 hours and then decided to stop one town over. My SIL Flys in tomorrow so they will get her and all come together. If they didn't get vacations much I would understand but they go OOT at least 2 weekends a month. I personally don't care but the kids expected them today and H is hurt.

We have the same fun awake period until 2 am. 2 am can be so fun when you're out with friends, but is the worst when you have an overtired baby.

Ds1 had a great week at his little camp! I am feeling much better about how he'll do at preschool next week.
Ds2 has been super fussy and gassy. He hasn't been sleeping well. I think he wakes himself up with gas and then realizes he is kind of hungry and can't fully settle down. Right now I am wearing him in the wrap and that totally calmed him back to sleep! I never use it at home but I guess now I will.
my girl is so funny in the Moby. She pops her head out like a little turtle and wants to look around. A very sweet, well meaning BBB worker tried to tell me how to tuck her head in today and I said, "Yeah...she starts out with her head in...." lol

Thank goodness for baby wearing, it's the most effective way of calming G. I have to figure out how to tandem carry but I'm not brave enough yet!
My aunts are over today to help..but if they call DS "little slugger" one more time I'm gonna scream. At first they were calling him "pumpkin" so I asked them to stop bc that's my nickname for DD. So they responded "what will be call him..little slugger?". Ummmm why can't you call him by his name?? I don't know why it's rubbing me the wrong way but it is. I blame the awful sleep last night.

I also dislike when other people make up nicknames for my kids. Some of them are so weird. It's sounds hypocritical because dh and I do it all the time!

Ugh, my MIL is so annoying. She ended up agreeing to delay her visit since I had a csection. She texts multiple times a day asking for pictures of C. I seriously need her to stop!

Ugh, I also hate it. My sister's boyfriend says my dog's name in a weird high-pitched way and repeats it a bunch of times really fast when he sees her and it seriously makes me want to hit him - and I don't even dislike the guy. Also, a few days after he was born, she told me that he nicknamed DS "Benny". His name is Benjamin. Call him that, or Ben. Not Benny. Ugh.
As far as nicknames go, I find myself calling him Munchkin or Snugglebutt more than I use his actual name 😂
My kids all have nicknames that just kind of happened organically, but really DH and I are the only ones who use them. DS1 is Toodles, DS2 is Squish, and DD has become Tink, as in Tinkerbell

We have rarely use DS's name too. We switch between calling him Munchkin and Cranky Pants. He doesn't even cry that much, but Cranky Pants just seems to fit.
