misshart00 seriously!! People were surprised by that too with me when we got home. I've got teens who have to get to school etc. Life didn't stop just bc I had a baby.

And at the hospital, it was "especially since you had an epidural." I was up walking 2-3 hours later. It doesn't last for days.
Was considering using a pacifier last night but then got all freaked out it was too early and I would screw up her breast feeding. Thoughts on this? She has been an amazing eater so far and has zero trouble latching.
FTM here and I don't even have an outside baby yet.. But from what I read, I've seen very few people say the paci caused nipple confusion.
With that being said, I plan to try to hold out for 3 weeks since that is the LC's recommendations. But if I cave before then, then oh well.
I'm currently packing for our trip tomorrow. My mom is taking LO and I to Orlando (from Atlanta) we are driving. Am I absolutely crazy for taking a road trip with newborn?? Anybody have any advice?
LO is sleeping so I should be sleeping, but this kid is so noisy! Don't get me wrong I love all the little sounds he makes while asleep or awake. It's when he stops or adds a new sound that freaks me out. Although he does have some amazing farts my DH is so proud.

We took DD on a 10 hour trip when she was 4 weeks old (funeral). It was great because she slept nearly the whole time. Just keep in mind it'll take longer because you have to stop and feed.
We had a long night! DS was so gassy he couldn't settle down to sleep. He kept wanting to eat which was only adding to it so we tried a paci and it was glorious. He got to sleep and I got some rest. Now he keeps losing it once and a while and I keep finding it on his forehead which is cute to watch but its making him grouchy.
I have a vent. I have been home almost a week now and I have not heard one word from anyone in my family. No calls, no visits, no emails...nothing. We all live in the same small town. I called and I didn't hear back. I am pretty hurt. My DH and I are pretty reserved and independent people but come on, I just had a baby. Its one of those times it would be nice to hear from my mom.

This is how most of our nights are. He likes the paci but can't figure out how to keep it in his mouth.

boxerrrmama85 - More exclamation points are warranted for sleep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
seamonster - I need to sterilize the same things, but it feels wrong boiling plastic. Maybe it's just me.
michelle142 - I recently put karate pads on my Amazon wish list because I've been feeling the same way. Seriously. (I used to actually take karate though, so I know it'll both be therapeutic and good exercise for me anyway lol)
mrsclark731 & mands1125 - Love-titting did not feel like enough recognition of your comments. I've grown to despise those "little words of advice." I hate that DH gets them at work, too--nowhere is safe!

FlutterOfYoshis, I thought boiling plastic was weird too. From here on out, I'm just using the electric steam sterilizer. Having a pasta strainer/steamer insert for my large pot was a big help for getting things out of the pot without getting water everywhere.

I hope this is today's spam, on mobile it says every post was just now started. If not I apologize!
Dd has a fever of 102 so no daycare and no work for me. She has a cough and runny nose also. I'm debating whether or not to take her to the doctor. The last three times I did they just said it has to run its course but I don't want her sick when the baby comes next week.
My spam for today is that my parents drive me crazy. So I am starting the induction process tonight with the cervical gel at 6pm. Then, the actual induction starts tomorrow morning. It could and will likely be a long process. I told them not to come up (they live 2 1/2 hours away) to our house (where they are staying) until Thursday around lunchtime. Well, between my two parents, they decided that they were just so worried about the light dusting of snow we may or may not get that they wanted to come up today. Ok, fine but DH and I are working from home today so don't come until like evening. Well, that wasn't good enough and they wanted to leave at 11 AM. Ok fine, I am too pregnant to argue at this point plus they are bringing us food. I was like, okay well don't get here any earlier than that!!!
I just texted my Mom and asked for an ETA. They are basically an hour away which means they definitely left before 11!!! I just don't feel like entertaining my parents 6 hours before I am going to be confined to a hospital bed with no food for possibly 36 hours.
Getting checked out at l&d. Have had a migraine since last night that isn't responding to Tylenol and I threw up the migrane meds. Doctor's office asked me to come in. Prayers appreciated.

Just woke up from a nap.... This cold isn't getting better. and I'm emotional because I told my hubby I was gonna head out to get some saline spray and he tells me to stay home he will pick it up on the way home..... At 5 this evening. WTF... I'm sick now... And need relief now. I'm not gonna give birth for the next two weeks and I'm not on bed rest. I should've just went and told him when I got back. I'm even more mad because him and every other person in my fam thinks I can't go anywhere etc. And it's getting old. I'm a mover and a shaker and I've been sitting home since January (not med related) I'm about to explode. So yeah I had a full out cry fest. I just want to go out for some fresh air and saline spray, and cough drops, and hydrogen peroxide. Ughhhhhh...

I lost one of my maternity t-shirts somewhere in my house. It is super frustrating. It happened a couple of weeks ago when we had the house in disarray painting and having 3 houseguests. Once everyone left and we put the house back together the shirt, that I assumed was in the laundry, was not, and it was never found. I looked EVERYWHERE like more than once. I was convinced it would just show up in a really odd place. But now I am convinced I will never see it again. Which really sucks because I only have like 6 mat shirts and I need all of them!
dramacat - hope things get better. Migraine's are the worst.
I just got back from 39 week appointment. He thinks she is no more than 7.5 lbs and doesn't agree with the ultrasound tech who said she's at least 8 lbs. Unfortunately, no matter what, my body is not giving her the proper eviction notice and that keeps her nice and comfortable. GET OUT! He told us that the best eviction notices are sex and nipple stimulation. So I guess bring it on!

mands1125 - Your parents sound similar to mine (it's mostly my mom, my dad just follows)...I have an induction date scheduled for my due date Monday but I haven't told them about it. I'm certain the same thing would happen to me if I did. I can totally sympathize, and I'm sending positive thoughts your way!

Between the mattress and the footboard. That's where my lost clothes end up.
