My mom and stepdad were in town for the weekend. My mom folded all the laundry and ironed DH's shirts. My stepdad trimmed all of our bushes, trees, and hedges and raked up any extra crap laying around. They are seriously the best.
And when DS woke up at 2am this morning my mom got up and held him and i slept in the recliner. Amazing.

I'm tired. Between DH snoring and DD waking 3 times, sleep wasn't awesome. We screwed up DD schedule royally yesterday so I was expecting a bad night. No plan for today!

DH had a CTJ talk with me over the weekend about having a second. I can't fault him because he has valid points and the outcome is that I need to lessen my work schedule if we are going to have another.
I don't mind given that nothing got done while I was out on ML and now I'm swamped but it's going to be an interesting conversation with my bosses 😕.
Oddly, my commute this morning was like riding a bike. I called my sister, we chatted, I got to work and my officemate had chocolates and a welcome back card on my desk AND the office was clean (it was A HOT MESS when I visited a while back).
Everyone is SO HAPPY I am back that it makes it easier to be back.
I just pumped 4oz. I DID forget pump adapter parts, so right off the bat I had to use 24mm flange instead of 21mm. Oddly, it was more comfortable! Soooo maybe I'll use 24 for a while.
So far, things are "coming up babycaps" so far today.

Baby decided to go back to sleep for his last bit in the bassinet instead of with me so i naturally overslept this morning and my commute was a bitch.
TTMA baby poop - DS suddenly has had green mucousy poop the last few days but normally does not, could he be developing a dairy sensitivity at this stage? He has been stuffy and extra drool lately so the mucous could be from that but the green is throwing me for a loop. He seems ok otherwise, not fussy etc.

DD has had two colds and both times had green, mucos poops that cleared up when the stuffiness was gone. Hopefully that's all it is!

The doctor is 20 mins late so far.. How do you run this far behind for the first appointment of the day?!?
So many reasons. Had to round at the hospital. Was on call overnight and was still dealing with call stuff. Answering pages while trying to get kids to daycare. Added in some urgent patients so you aren't actually first. I could go on and on.

Do you nap when your babies are awake and quiet alert? I've never done it but baby I is happily looking at books and sucking his thumb. Dying to take a nap. Is that ok? I'll hear him if he gets upset right? He's about 4ft away. Jk. He's fussy now.
snoris - this is the only way I have survived this weekend. I felt bad at first, but when I was SO tired and she wouldn't nap, I know I can take care of her better after a little sleep.
I need help. I can't get E to nap for the life of me. She used to take good naps. 1 hr in the AM, 2.5 hrs in the afternoon, and a catnap in the evening. Now - no nap. at all. She falls asleep eating, I put her down in her bed, and she wakes up 20 minutes later. Doesn't matter if I'm holding her or whatever. The longest nap we've gotten this week is in the car for an hour... and I can't just drive aimlessly around every day. She's tired, and so tired that she's miserable. The house is quiet, cool, and dark. She is swaddled in her arms-out sleep sack (which works great at night). I feel like I'm doing something wrong!

W has been on a nap strike lately. He's had good days and bad days. I'd say KOKO and hope your LO outgrows it. That's my method lol.

I don't know if this will help you but I know if my toddler isn't stimulated enough during the morning he is a bear to get to nap, even though he still clearly needs it. Are you stimulating her enough during awake time? Obviously not totally overboard, but a good amount of tummy/ physical time as well as some mental stimulation such as looking at patterns, books, feeling different textures, etc. between each naptime. Then do a winding down quiet period before attempting to sleep. Also if she's not napping she could be overtired which makes the situation worse! Try being active for an hour or so after waking up, then start winding down and the nap routine to see if that helps any. Good luck!
Aww I can't imagine how hard it is! Try tummy time on a floor mat where you can just lay on the floor next to her. Or lay down with her belly to belly on top of you. That way you could rest while she works to keep her head/ shoulders up. Cam LOVES doing the Itsy Bitsy Spider right now.
I don't know how you feel about screen time (Cam doesn't watch yet but my toddler does). There's a YouTube channel called Sparkabilities that have created 5-6 minute videos geared toward infant/ toddler development. They are really good. They also have a little exercise thing you do with the babies that I do with Cam all the time and he loves it even though he's never seen the video.
snoris, in desperation I've put A in her swing and layed down on the couch for a catnap. She was always within sight/hearing distance. When J was a newborn I would put him on a quilt in the middle of the living room and nap right there on the floor next to him.
kateisoptimistic, I wouldn't worry too much about the poop if the kiddo is a little sick. Green can also mean that they're getting a lot of foremilk.
