gooselover2012 I so feel your pain. DS is a shitty napper in the first place and he basically refused to nap today. It was exhausting. God I hope they figure out this long nap thing soon...
Exciting day today - our five year wedding anniversary and just went under contract for our new house!! I'm a combination of excited and extremely overwhelmed at the thought of getting our finances together and it house ready to sell 😬 hold me!
I've been prepping for the past two hours for breakfast tomorrow. In total 5 adults and 3 kids (not counting LO who will be napping). Monkey bread, two egg pies (one of our friends is Muslim and doesn't do pork) a breakfast pizza, fruit salad and pancakes are on the menu. I like making the dough but it is sort of exhausting!!

Yup. I got a 45 minute nap out of her this afternoon. She went down pretty easily at 4:00 but only slept for 20 minutes.
FX we both have a better day tomorrow!
LOs first nap is pretty easy if I catch her at the right time but the afternoon involves lots of crying and then it is usually pretty short. It would be easy if I let her nap on me but with DD1 it is pretty impossible.
DD1 got a response letter from Santa this morning. We "sent a letter" asking that Santa come early this year because we are going to be in FL visiting family for a whole month around Christmas time. She has been carrying it with her everywhere this morning.
ETA my dad brought a response with them when they visited and I think he probably had just as much fun writing the letter. So cute.
I really really really wish my brother would've gotten married before I had kids! I am so excited for this wedding tomorrow but I'm nervous that I won't be able to enjoy it because of my wild children!
Cleveland/Ohio girls, rubykitten and maybe creepyeyeball, do you know who Little John is from the "Big Chuck and Little John" show?
Big Chuck and little John! They were celebrities in my house as a child. Lol we were weirdos
We saw Little John (who is a little person) at the restaurant where we had the rehearsal dinner. DS1, who is almost 4, was staring at him for awhile. Little John walked up to him and gave him a high five. DS goes, "He's a little guy like me!" Thankfully, John laughed, but I was both embarrassed and amused!

Omg, your ds is so cute! Little John is known for being little, I bet he's used to it I would've laughed if I was him too!

We were supposed to leave on a camping trip at 4. Both kids just fell asleep at 3:45. Looks like we are staying here for a while. Yay for both kids sleeping at the same time though!

Nap roulette has finally begun in this house and it's so frustrating at times.
After 4.5 months (ish) it was finally time to get LO napping in his room and not on me. So, last Thursday, I bit the bullet and put him down in his room. For two days he went down awake and put himself to sleep and I got 3 naps of at least an hour and up to 2.5 hours!! Woo hoo I thought! Why didn't I do this earlier I thought? SO much better than his sister ever was.
What a fool I was.
The last two days have been rubbish. Either fighting going down like a demon or only doing really short naps. I remember now why I waited, because a nap on me was a guarantee. Now all bets are off and it's anyone's guess if he'll sleep or not.
Finally after 3 hours awake and a resettle after 45 minutes he's napping again for a decent stretch.
I decided to try Blue Apron since I got the first week for only $10. So of course I never got time to cook the meals, so I made 2 of them yesterday, one for lunch, one for dinner. Then DH did not like one of them, so I ate more than my share. Well between the 2 meals there was an entire piece of garlic, like 7 cloves of garlic. I still taste garlic today, and am pretty sure I am oozing the smell of garlic. I will be avoiding people today.

I haven't been eating as much garlic lately but with DD1 I could frequently smell it in my breastmilk as she was nursing. It would have been gross if I didn't find it so fascinating.
I too am half dreading the holidays. The girls and I go to my parents' house first (2.5 hr drive from the airport) and we will be there for 2 weeks then going to my in-laws (1.5 hrs drive away) for 2 weeks. DH should be there for 1 week while we are at my in-laws.
Both houses will be packed with people. My sister and her two boys are planning to move back in with my parents by December. So that'll make a relatively big house feel tiny. And my in-laws downsized and so while it is 4 BR the rooms are small and when DH is there there will be 7 adults and 2 kids.
ETA my mom said she might see if she can fly here for a few days and then fly back to the US with me so I don't have to do both legs of the flight alone.

Ugh! First period : (
And I had no clue it was coming so when I saw a bit of blood in the toilet I was going to ask DH if he was ok (he'd been before me), until I wiped. I feel more depressed about it than I thought I would.
Does anyone else only have a shower? We managed to figure out how to use the infant tub without having to get myself wet too but I don't know what the plan is when she is bigger. We've always had a bathtub but apparently those aren't a thing in Colombia.

Kitchen sink?
That is a good thought. It has a moveable sprayer. I just hate the idea of having to take a shower on her schedule because she usually takes one right before she goes to bed and I can not stand to have wet hair.

How do you like Blue Apron? I tried HelloFresh free thanks to renbee, and I really liked it. I want to try Blue Apron.
I've been MIA all weekend because of my brother's wedding. Sorry! I hope to be a bit more active this week.
My breastaurant has officially closed - 99.9% for the final time. I'm mostly happy about it and proud that I stuck it out for so long even though I had to supplement, but a bit sad that I'll never nurse my little girl again.

The food was amazing. But it took about 45+ minutes per meal of undivided attention, and that is just not an option for us right now. It was very gourmet, and I have been told that some of the other similar services are not quite as fancy, and therefore not as time intensive. I have never been a cook, so it could have taken me longer to prep, but even the cooking needed attention, it was not stuff I could pop in the oven and leave, it was constant stirring, adding ingredients, etc. How was Hello Fresh in terms of time commitment?
