DS just did two three hour stretches in his crib! We're making progress. I'm happy and sad about it.
I have an after hours event tonight. Not sure how to time pumping. It starts right when I would need to pump again. I'll probably try to pump early on my commute to the venue, but I no longer have a cover. Thanks thief!
DH heard the baby cry so we came in while I was nursing. He was so excited to be able to see the baby before going to work. Even talking quietly and keeping the room dim, he had to par him and give him a kiss.
So naturally I'm betting DS and I are up for the day because he's wide awake and not seeming interested in sleep.
I'd be mad but I know DH gets sad when he goes the whole work day without getting to see him. I can't lie and say I'm not sad tone up at 6 am though lol

I used to just a receiving blanket when I had to pump in the car.
Well I don't think we're out of the woods yet but DS slept his normal schedule last night after a string of awful sleep. It was really nice to go to bed at 11 instead of 4am!
My boobs are killing me. After eating every 45 minutes last night my supply apparently skyrocketed because ouch. Still glad she's sleeping, though. I feel bad for messing with her naps 4 days in a row. Hopefully this week we can get back to normal.
A just transitioned into size 6-9 month clothes. Somehow they are all pink. A little pink is fine, but her wardrobe looks like Barbie's. I need to go shopping for her.

We're off today. DD started daycare yesterday (my mom had been watching her over the summer) and I'm not sure I love it. She's at the same center DS has been at since he was a baby, and they knew she was coming, but they literally had nothing ready for her yesterday.
At drop off there wasn't an open cubby, and they hadn't labeled her crib. The infant teacher was supposed to text me a picture but never did. I'm going to check out a highly recommended in-home daycare this afternoon for both kids, but I'm not sure, is it a step back moving DS from a center to an in-home when he's starting preK next year? I have all of the anxiety.
That's a tough call but I would feel unnerved too. I think you should check out the in-home care and see if you get a good feeling for it.

We're roughly the same ages. There are now openings at our neighbors in home DC and she could take both kids at half the price. (She had no infant spots when DD needed one). DD is why we aren't doing it. It feels like the wrong direction.

It didn't fall off while driving? That's my main concern. I'm contemplating a backwards cardigan or something.
Ds1 is being a big kid today at Nursery school. He ran right in when they opened the door. I think we were both ready for this next step!
Of course though, on the one day in forever that I've had to be up at a certain time both kids slept in. I could not get ds1 up. The dog jumped on his head(she's not a smart dog) and that woke him enough that I could convince him to get up. Ds2 slept until 8:40. Wwwhhhyy today and not tomorrow?

I pumped in Atlanta traffic with no cover. Someone got a show when I took it on and off!

Tie two ends of a muslin blanket together and slip the hole over your head and put the blanket in front to cover yourself. This is what I use as a makeshift nursing cover.
gahorseygal, I wouldn't mind about random strangers seeing me pump with no cover - I've done it before! BUUUUUUUUT.. I would need to start in my parking garage and pass by possible coworkers, the security guard, and the gate guard who would all get an eye full. Plus any coworkers who possibly park near me once we're at the restaurant.
I parked in a different spot than I normally do so that I can set up without being on full display..
Coworker: Hey! You parked somewhere different today Me: Yep. I have a good reason, but I can't tell you. Coworker: Umm.. Okay? Me: It's not as creepy of a reason as you're probably thinking now.
I work in a zoo. Every action is on display. It's amazing I can TCF.
@aeroplaneoverthesea maybe give it the week and see how it goes .... I totally understand your feeling off about though. You can always tour the other one just to keep your options open
Well, I'm glad R slept well from 11 to 4:30, because after she woke up she was miserable. She's so congested she comes when trying to nurse, so we're in all kinds of weird positions. But then she can't sleep unless she's almost sitting straight up. Ugh. I'm already exhausted and it's only 10a. This is going to be a long few days until she gets better.

Plus I already miss our snuggles in bed.
I feel ya! DS's reflux gives him constant congestion and it can make nights rough. He's so big I'm having a hard time finding a nursing position that helps him. I end up taking burp breaks more often. It's a vicious cycle though, the reflux causes congestion but the congestion adds to why he pukes.
@aeroplaneoverthesea go for the tour at the in home daycare. It doesn't have to be a step backwards. If the place comes highly recommended it's possible there is some early childhood education happening anyway. There will still be turn taking, likely group activities and circle time. Home daycares aren't a free for all 🙃 Go on the tour and express your concern there. You might be pleasantly surprised. You might decide its not for you. Only on way to find out!
fishbulb I'm with you on the monochromatic wardrobe. In this size baby I literally owns two articles of clothing that aren't primarily blue. Just worked out that way haha.
DC kids are finally asleep. Baby I is sleeping latched and I don't dare move him. I'm stuck in my glider but there are worse places to be stuck. Listening to my Classic FM app and TCF'ing. Ok!

Poor girl! I hope she feels better soon. That's the worst.

Hi y'all. We went camping for labor day weekend and it was awesome... except the night that I woke up about an hour after going to bed, realizing that the baby had a fever. We didn't have thermometers or tylenol, and my mom-guess was 101. Nurse hotline said go to the ER, so we did some quick repacking and I left DH with DS1 while I took DS2 on the 40 minute drive to the closest hospital. Turned out to just be a headcold, but better safe than sorry at this age.
