I had an Oreo milkshake for lunch. I was able eat pretty much everything in the beginning and then starting at week 10, all I want is captain crunch and ice cream. Thoughts of meat at particularly nauseating.
glb30 - You'll get through it! I'm a couple weeks ahead of you it looks like and I'm just starting to incorporate normal food back into my diet. There is definitely hope, although I know how bad it sucks when you are in it.
kristhegirl, I'm sorry about the NT scan, that would make me so frustrated!
meggypoo1, colds are the worst. I hope you feel better soon!
Yesterday, we were woken up at 5am by the puppy (11 months old..so a puppy but not young enough to be an excuse here) peeing in his crate. We sent him outside, cleaned up, etc. Then I ran an errand midday and got home to find my H mopping. Initially I thought, "how sweet he's cleaning for me!", until I found out that the same puppy was sleeping on our bed, H was in another room, when H heard him peeing (he used to pee at the back door if we weren't there to let him out immediately). Well, he wasn't peeing at the back door..he was peeing on our bed, which then continued down the hall, through the living room, to the back door. H was NOT happy. I, personally, was glad it happened when H was home b/c he thinks I overreact when I get angry at this dog. Puppies are the worst & I'm not convinced I'll be able to / want to handle him, along with the rest of adulting, once baby #2 comes along (anyone want a really nice Labradoodle puppy who just needs more attention? ...only partially kidding).
In better news, my bday is tomorrow! After barely seeing H due to his stupid work schedule lately, he actually has all Thursday and Friday off! So we get to spend some time together and are going to cook a nice dinner together (my fave thing to do together) after DD goes to bed tomorrow night
callmeKD, Yes he is. We adopted him when he was about 12 weeks old, and he is really a good puppy, but we struggled for a long time with potty training b/c he would all of a sudden have to pee and just go where he was (we've had a few dogs so have done this before, but he has been the most challenging). He has been good for a few months (although still pees in his crate 50% of the time, whether it's an hour or 6 hours & I can't figure that one out), so I'm hoping this was just a fluke. It's my fault b/c I just don't like him right now; I'm alone with DD and both dogs most of the time and he has SO much energy that I'm just always annoyed/mad at him (I know, he's a puppy, puppies have a lot of energy.). I feel awful b/c he just wants to be loved 24/7 and I just want to punch him in the face (not really, but if you've ever had a SO that you just got really annoyed with and wanted to punch in the face for a moment...that's how I feel about him lol). I can't handle both dogs + a stroller on a walk together so we end up just not going, and he will wipe out DD if he's running around inside or outside, so I know he doesn't get the exercise he needs. Basically I'm a sucky owner right now, the type of owner I normally silently judge for neglecting their dog's needs. I'm looking into dog daycare for him a few days a week b/c my other option is to find a friend who has the time/energy for him (I don't take rehoming animals lightly and normally judge people who jump to that option too quickly, but I just don't know how we will manage with a toddler, a newborn, and the current dog situation. It's getting to be not fair for the dog).
Happy Birthday (tomorrow) kaits8! Also, we send our dog to day care everyday- he's a 110 lb. golden retriever and it wipes him out. All he wants to do in the evening is watch tv and chill. If you can swing it, it's a great option!
@justinslovo, I've wondered that in the past. The thing that makes me think it isn't the case (at least not this time) is the amount he pees (a full bladder's worth). The 5am accident was b/c he was crated for the night 20 mins earlier than normal (at his request..he likes going to bed). Even though he went out right before bed I wasn't completely surprised by the accident. The midday one was weird, but I wasn't home to see what happened (my guess is he hadn't gone out in a while, H wasn't paying attention, and he probably drank a bunch of water just before taking a nap). If it happens again / continues to happen I will call the vet for sure, but I'm hopeful it was just a one/two time thing and he will be an adult sometime soon.
(As far as his 50/50 peeing in his crate...he had actually been doing really well with this lately. Anytime he pees in his crate it's a lot of pee, like he just couldn't hold it anymore. I am considering bringing him to the vet to test a urine sample anyways though, just to be sure it's nothing but behavioral. He tends to guzzle water, to the point where I have to remove the water bowl after dinner..which I hate doing..otherwise he will just drink and drink and then ask to go out every 10 mins forever). I will never own another puppy...or large dog for that matter, after these guys. Too much work, too much money. I'm so done!
My law school roommate just called. Her, her husband, 2 year old and 2 month old's flight was cancelled and they are stuck in Chicago. So they are staying with us tonight. Guise- I love seeing people but my head hurts so bad. 😞 I was so looking forward to tv and bed.
kaits8 it also depends on how long he is in his crate at night. Mine sometimes wakes me up at 4am to pee and she is 7yrs (never crated though). I don't mind since most nights I can't even get through the night without going once before my wake up time so I can't blame her. I feel for you because it does sound like you are at the end of your rope though. I would try for regular walks everyday (one at a time if you can't handle the pup with the other one), being taken out to pee alot when people are home (every 2- 3 hrs if he isn't good inside yet), and some obediance training. That's usually the recipe for success on raising a puppy. But it will be alot of work and effort for both you and DH so it depends on if that's in the cards for your household right now. I'm so sorry your in this predicament.

kaits8 I recently learned that dogs will drink lots of water out of boredom. Cue dog-mom guilt. Our labs growing up would do the gulping thing, too, though. Also inhale food so fast they'd immediately vomit up dry kibble. Like how...??
I hope there's nothing wrong with your pup and you can find some activity for him, for both your sakes!

Gulping water can also be a sign of diabetes, and the pets I've had who got diabetes frequently drank so much they'd pee without meaning to (e.g., walking across the floor, suddenly peeing). Usually it just occurs in older pets but it can happen to the younger guys.
Thanks every for the support and ideas. I hadn't thought of the drinking as a boredom thing, that's very interesting! I definitely have a lot to think about.
moutonrouge, I've had diabetes in my mind for a long time now. It's just, like you said, the fact that he's so young I feel like it would be so strange for that to be the case. I am going to mention it to our vet next time I speak to her though. The way he sucks water and pees SO much every single time he has an accident (and he asks to go out SO often), if he was older I would be convinced that's what we're dealing with.
I'm so glad to have y'all I can only complain about the dog to my H so much before he gets especially mad at me
Oh, and I had Buffalo Chicken Mac n Cheese delivered for dinner tonight (this local restaurant makes fancy mac n cheeses = AMAZING). It was SO good. I should go workout now...but I'm going to put on a face mask and sit and enjoy the quiet until H gets home at midnight

You should probably turn off all the lights, and can your appliances make random noises they've never made before? That'll help.

I'll probably watch a happy movie after lol although I do like scary movies in general so hopefully it's not too bad
i don't really have an update this morning, just a question. When are you getting your flu shot? Is it time yet?
Got thrown under the bus by my dh this morning at the doctor's.. they grabbed my chart and stuck me with a flu shot as well. (We were there for his thyroid medicine.) Ah well, at least I'm done. Going to have to schedule the kids. For reference, they told me they came in two days ago.
