I'll try to remember to take a picture later today, the bump is starting to be pretty legit. I do not want to be at work today. It's back to school night. I hate back to school night, my goal is to talk through my 10 minute segments long enough to avoid anyone asking questions about maternity leave. A teacher last year just got bombarded with questions and I'd like to avoid that if at all possible. It also means none of us get to leave until 8 tonight because there's no chance of getting a parking spot if you try to return. It's also picture day, bleh.

Today is my "Friday!" I am so excited because I took tomorrow and Friday off of work. I guess the only upside of my company forcing me to take all of my vacation before maternity leave, is that I have 9 days to burn before the end of November. Well, 7 if you count this week.
Anywho....I actually have a good HDBD pic because H and I went to a wedding this weekend. Please hold.

requiressnacks, what a great picture! I love your dress!!
@kc295905, your casual bump pictures are giving me life goals for sure. How do you get ppl to take such great pics? I have to give my DH 1,000 directions to end up with something half way decent and they end up looking totally staged...
We picked up a pizza last night for dinner and I made the mistake of eating two pieces (like, seriously, pre-pregnancy me could totally do 2 pieces). I suffered with heartburn and feeling extremely full ALL NIGHT LONG. Why!? I love pizza...
This is a quiet random day for sure! I'm excited because we're no longer on 'summer hours' at work, which means I get to sleep in an extra 1/2 hour and take an hour lunch (vs 1/2 hour). The only downside is working a full day on Friday, as opposed to being out at noon.
Is anyone planning on a flexible work schedule after you return from leave? I'm starting to think about it more and more lately. I'd really like to leave work at 4 or 4:30 vs 5pm. I don't think it will be a problem, but we'll see!

My husband is going to adjust his schedule so we overlap, allowing him to get up and get the baby ready for daycare while I also get ready for work. Then I'll drop her off at daycare on my way to work, and he'll pick her up once he's done. Probably 7-3 for him and 9-5 for me. That way baby girl spends less hours at daycare and there are shared responsibilities, since he works from home and I don't. Once she gets a little older, I'll likely adjust my schedule too so I have more time with her in the evenings, especially as her bedtime changes.

Yes, I'm going to have to adjust my hours. Although, I'm basically going to request that I scale back to only 8 hours per day (so SAD that this is a "special request!). My daycare closes at 5:30, so I'll have to leave the office each day by 4:30 to make sure I get there on-time. I will laugh in the face of my boss and HR person if they try to tell me I have to be in the office more than 8 hours per day.
I also work a job that requires me to be available on nights/weekends, but that can usually be done via mobile.
@cahistoryteacher, ugh, I hate parents night. I'm dreading all the questions about my maternity leave too. At least I found out they actually have a long term sub lined up for me already.
Winnifred, we did pizza last night too, and I have also been regretting it since. Heart burn kept me up all night long.
lola, that's helpful that you are able to overlap your schedules a little bit. I also like that he's planning on getting the baby ready! I really want my DH to drop her off in the morning so I can have a few minutes to get ready just by myself, we'll see about that...
requiressnacks, bleh I'm sorry to hear about your extra hours! That sucks... Sounds like you have the right attitude to get what you need, though.
Becca, I'm going in for round 2 since we have so much leftover... I am going to try really really hard to stick to one piece tonight...
sheepish, aw that's fun! I guess that means I'm under 100 as well, woo hoo!
On the work front again, baby will be spending her first 3-4 months closer to my office, so it just makes sense for me to be the one who picks her up/drops her off. I'm hoping we can find someone closer to our house so that DH can at least take her or pick her up. He works 7:30 - 4 though and I'm hoping for 8am - 4pm... so we'll see.
Creepy hotel bathroom selfie at 25+6. Traveling is exhausting, and I miss my snoogle. The coworker I'm traveling with only wants to eat cheap food, which isn't working for me. I'm totally fine with being cautious with company resources, but a girl's gotta eat (preferably not fast food).
Winnifred It will be nice! But I'll definitely have to be in charge of picking out clothes. His taste is suspect at best. Still, I'd like him to be able to pack her bag, so I'll probably make a list for him. She'll be closer to me, so it makes sense that I take her. And if he can't get her in the afternoons, I can always grab her on the way home.
lola , did you see that post a while back (I think it started on facebook) about the baby whose dad dressed her for daycare and he only put on a pair of jean overalls? No undershirt at all. Poor baby! LOL, let's hope your DH has better taste than that guy.
I had a very uneventful ultrasound this morning. Baby girl is measuring perfectly. I still haven't gained any weight (including gaining back what I lost in the first tri), my BP was amazing (it was ALWAYS an issue in my last 2 pregnancies). It was fun to see her. She was a little uncooperative with one of the heart pictures the tech was trying to get, but eventually, after some acrobatics on my part, the tech got everything she needed.
Everything is going so well that I don't go back for another u/s until 32 weeks (end of October).
Becca, I don't think I'm going to end up with a long term sub. We have to find someone with the right credential for them to stay the whole semester and we can't find any *good* history teachers that are unemployed right now. My kids will probably go through about 4 subs while I'm gone which means I have to leave a whole semester's worth of plans. Luckily for my 7th grade I've taught it for so long making plans will be easy, but for 8th grade since I haven't taught it in a long time it's going to be a bear to come up with stuff for them while I'm gone.
Winnifred, that is hilarious! I know some guys are dumb, but REALLY - he didn't know that usually you would put a shirt under overalls? At least they weren't denim overalls....I guess.
lola, I am a big fan of eating well on the company dime. I figure it's part of my compensation package when they force me to travel. I can't believe your coworker wants fast food! Blech.
Winnifred Yes! He would totally do that! He tried to bring me workout clothes the other day. He sent photos and I would say, "Nope, that's a jacket. I need an actual shirt."

I kind of lucked out since there is another girl in my department who left on maternity leave yesterday so this one sub will go from her to me. There will probably only be a week when my students are without the sub. It helped they were able to offer someone a long term subbing job from now until mid February. I hear you on the lack of credentials though. I gave up my AP classes this year for lower level courses they could more easily find subs for. It would be a terrible schedule normally, but it will be fine for me for this one year.
