ajacot924 Good idea for next time! Tonight I ended up just cooking the sausage with onion and calling it dinner. Wasn't that bad! Just not extremely exciting.
My child had one ravioli and milk for dinner. She didn't want to eat and kept spitting out her food. Whatever. Here's a sippy of milk to hold you over for awhile. I'm done fighting with the teeny tiny dictator.
Oh. And I should learn to assume there's poop in her diaper. Ugh. I chased her down for a bath and quickly undid her diaper and plopped her in the tub. Annnnnnnnd then promptly realized she had pooped. Fantastic.
malvo I've given up for now too. A will eat, just only her favorites. So I just make her something different than we are eating so she actually eats. When she can understand "this is dinner and if you don't eat it, you don't get anything else tonight" is when I'll stop making her a separate dinner I suppose? Choose your battles....
Sorry about the poop also. That happened to me a couple of nights ago.
I'm feeling so much better this afternoon. My stomach is not 100% better, but at least I was able to eat some ramen for dinner and so far so good.
Putting f down now and can hear the nascar race at the track. They race in Richmond 2x a year, a weekend in May and this particular weekend. It's the sound that begins and ends my summer!!
portuguesemama and I both fb messaged flat0422 and will let y'all know when/if we hear from her. Fx all is ok.
F at SO much ramen with me tonight! (So much for a baby) her belly was round and tight! Hoping we all sleep better.
sjep922 I agree, sometimes you got to pick your battles and I'd rather f eat SOMETHING than nothing. jennypm (where r u too girl!) I saw mini 100 cal snickers and twin candy bars at the store today! Of course I thought of you. They were like regular candy bar shaped, just smaller! malvo did you figure diner out? You could always brown the sausages and Carmelites the onions then make some sauce with the pan drippings by adding some water and flour, cook the noodles and serve over top. If you have any other veggies, you can add those as well.

Holy fuck. I forgot how exhausting the first week is. So stressful. All the crying. And be nice to your kids teachers when they go to school. Kindergarteners are positively feral. It's like herding cats. It took me 25 minutes to read a Pete the Cat book.
sjep922 What does A like to eat for dinner? Curious if there's anything we can try with M!
M's pediatrician told me that M needs to understand that dinner is dinner and that she won't eat if she doesn't accept what's provided. But, dude, she's 17 months! She can't grasp that concept yet.
rvamama Oh! That sounds yummy. I did sausage with fried onions and just ate it that way. Will have to try your suggestion next time!
malvo, you didn't ask me but I agree with you, a little hard to understand at a young age that "dinner is dinner"! One thing I do is that I offer f a little of what we eat and then give her a few other filling options as well. That way she can at least try what we are having. F likes bits of honey/brown sugar deli meat; I buy these little rice a Roni cups (she likes the chicken flavor) and she'll eat that; buttered noodles, canned veggies, grapes and blue berries, scrambled eggs.

rvamama I didn't realize you were so close to the track! Someone gave us tickets but we can't go-H has an auction.
malvosjep922 If Jo doesn't eat we just give her milk and keep it moving. I'm not a short order cook. She threw her pizza on the floor so she got her milk and went on to bed.

I'll have to find / try the rice-a-roni cups and five those a whirl. The most frustrating thing with M is that she won't try anything new. She literally won't lay a finger on new foods. So, like, I'm sure she'd enjoy all kinds of things. It's just getting her to try!
We randomly offer eggs in hopes that one day she'll just try them. Same goes with veggies and any meats she can eat with her lack of teeth (she still only has 6 teeth).
I'd give my left kidney for my kid to just try the foods we give her, and then make up her mind on whether she likes them or not.

Aw man! We're about 10 minutes away. It's a pretty good hummmmmmmm of the engines and you can hear them go round and round, when they slow and speed up.
rvamama Jealous of your proximity to the track this weekend! I'm such a fan girl of Jeff Gordon (met him last year!) and am so thrilled that he's filling in for Jr. We are about 45 minutes from Pocono, which is the worst track to watch in person because it's so damn big and awkwardly shaped. Boo hiss.
graciest719 I used to be obsessed. OBSESSED. Like, my entire room - floor to ceiling - was Gordon memorabilia. I still like him. He's my favorite. But my obsession is no longer ridiculous.
graciest719 wtf hunter?! I mean, wtf?! That made me lol so hard! Good old Amelia! Speaking of hunter, we were talking about auctioning tools/equipment at work and I told my foreman we HAVE to get your h! Lol!! malvo my h loves Jeff Gordon too, but never to your level!! I think it's awesome he is filling in for jr too, I mean, not happy jr is not doing well, but still.
We had a fancy dinner.. almost too fancy? Like, an $18 cheese board with portions for a mouse. We had a gift card; I'd never spend $18 on 4 oz of cheese. Gtfo. I had short ribs (err.. rib) and MH got some chicken crab thing.
Then we met 2 friends for a couple drinks. I had some insane coffee stout. Chewy.
And now we are home!! I miss my bebe. I want to go wake her but I ain't crazy. I barely saw her at all today, so I'm excited to spend the day with her tomorrow. Woooo. Until Sunday when I'm like, fxk, I need a break. Haha!
Y'all know my family friend who was recently diagnosed with the breast cancer?
She was just in the hospital a little over a week ago with pneumonia and when they scanned her chest they found a spot on her spine so they sent her for more tests. She has more cancer of another form around two or three vertebrae as well as on a rib. They are unsure what kinds of cancer they are but the one on her rib looks aggressive. I don't know much accept my dad said it isn't good and she could have anywhere from 6 months to two years (with treatment). He doesn't think S will make it to her daughters wedding in July. I'm so heartbroken. Her family and ours are so close.

Cancer sucks.
Oh, (and yes I'm quoting myself, h is out of town and didn't answer his phone right now and it's too late to phone a friend) but my gramma, also battling the return of her cancer has become very quiet and very tired. She sleeps a lot now, doesn't even turn her tv on and keeps saying she wants to go home (to heaven). My mom will be there early in the week and since my aunt is there from ca now for a couple weeks, my mom thinks my gramma is waiting for everyone (since all the brothers are in the same town already).
rvamama cancer sucks so hard and I'm so sorry you're having two people close to you battle. Sending all of my hugs and positive thoughts to you, your grandma, your friend and all of the family members.
malvo for lunch/dinner A likes to have one of the following: black beans, meatballs, hot dogs or chicken nuggets. Almost always accompanied by peas, carrots or avocado. That's pretty much our only choices. SOMETIMES she'll have taco meat.
Eta I know you didn't ask, but for breakfast and snacks she wants all the fruit and raisins and crackers. She also loves the veggie straw chips. Also yogurt and granola.
I think I've told you everything she eats at all now.
rvamama I'm so sorry. Cancer sucks is an understatement. Many, many hugs.
sjep922 M likes fish sticks, chicken nuggets and raviolis. But even those she refuses sometimes. All the fruit and all the snacks (wafers, gold fish, etc.).

rvamama oooh, I will have to keep an eye out for those. I haven't had a snickers bar in like 2 weeks! We are budgeting and trying to cut back on the grocery bill, so I cut out the snickers bars. I miss coming here, but between work, school, and the girls activities, all I can manage to keep up with is FB. I only have 10 more months of school, though and then I'll have my bachelor's and be able to breathe again!
