4 weeks old and definitely waking up. How do I get this kid to sleep without neglecting big sisters? Drowsy-but-awake is a fail; too young to sleep train; won't nurse to sleep consistently; wakes up while being baby worn. I am stumped.
This phase, IMO, is the hardest. Holding out for 3 months plus.
Happy Friday! I am a big nerd, but I've been looking forward to tonight's dateline episode about JonBenet Ramsey. Can't wait! (Hope baby sleeps for some of it.)
The big kids are punking me, I swear. I had to remind DS1 4 times between 630 and 830 this morning that we do not, in fact, eat in the living room/bedrooms/bathrooms in our house. I caught him eating a cereal bar in my bed. WTF

I'm at my 6 week OB appt. I'm all cleared, but I needed a form signed for work releasing me back and no one knows the procedure. I tried to give it to the secretary and she said bring it with me to the dr. The dr told me it needs to be taken care of in the front office. I go to the outgoing secretary and she asks me why the doctor didn't just sign it. WTF.
DD has been quiet except she screamed during my Pap smear lol we are on borrowed time and need to get home to eat...
I don't want to jinx myself, but things are so good this week. DD1 loves preschool, she is sleeping better and she's in a much better mood overall. DH is almost completely recovered from his surgery so he can help more. I'm tired, but things are so pleasant that I don't really mind.
I am super emotional about DD3 getting bigger though, more than I expected. I'm sad that this is our last tiny baby, even though it's my choice. Kind of conflicting emotions.

This is a problem here too. Right now I just hold her while she sleeps and do everything one-handed. Not really a long term solution.

I'm glad to hear that others are having all the issues with sleep. Baby girl basically only falls asleep on us (sometimes not until you've rocked/swayed/shushed for 30 minutes) and then you have to carefully transfer her to the bed. If she wakes up it starts all over. I thought it was just out crazy child fighting sleep... glad to hearv that I others experience this
Me (30) MH (32) Dx: MFI (low all the things) M. 10/11. TTC Since 01/14 IUI#1-3(Letrozole + Trigger) = BFN Second Opinion. Changed RE's. IVF 09/15 Long Lupron 12R/9M/8F, Transferred 1=BFN. 4 frosties. FET #1 12/15 Transferred 1 (3 still on ice)
Haha, the one silver lining to the baby being at the hospital for recovery is that he has to sleep in the patient crib by himself and not with me...hoping this weans him from needing to sleep with me when we get home!

The idea that many or most newborns sleep is a lie sold by sleep books and the self-satisfied parents of genetically good sleepers. DD2 and DD3 have gotten the same treatment when it comes to sleep. DD3 is an average newborn sleeper. DD2 was miserable. The difference was in them.

Got in an argument with H about letting him nap on me and how the daycare wants me to stop so he'll be able to sleep there. (He doesn't start for a month and H agrees with them). Well guess what? He's been screaming for hours this morning, even a car ride didn't help, so he's sleeping on me now and there's no way in hell I'm moving him. Lol
Hi. I stopped by my work to hand in my paperwork saying I'll be back Monday. I had DD in the stroller and had planned to peek my head in a few classroom doors to let the teachers see her, but as soon as students saw her it was "OMG BABY!!!" So I ended up stopping by more rooms and if the kids wanted to see her they had to line up to stand at the line of the doorway while she was 5 feet away in the middle of the hallway LOL
It was cute and the kids are excited I'm coming back, which was nice to see/hear

DS will be four weeks tomorrow and during the last few days he has taken many fewer and much shorter naps. We are definitely suffering. Happy to hear it is a phase...

annbuhdan Thanks for reminding me. Dateline is now set to record!
Another trip to the Pedi today DS has had really yellow goopy right eye for a couple days now and hadn't gotten better with massaging and breast milk in the eye so he gave us antibiotic drops to use. I hope we don't have anymore trips to the doctor until his one month check up!
