I had a moment today earlier while reading an article recounting everything.
my H is watching old news casts, like we normally do every year. I can't bring myself to watch this year.
This year's HS freshman is the first class to learn about 9/11 as an event that happened before they were born. DS will learn about this in school when he's older and I don't know how well explain to him how it really felt that day (H and I were in middle school at the time and remember.. Our younger siblings don't remember it)

I'm in tears watching the 9/11 documentaries today.
I was a freshman in high school when it happened. I remember sitting in health class and a student came running in and flipped the tv on. My dad was supposed to be flying to New York City that day for work. I panicked. I remember sprinting thru the school to a pay phone sobbing. I called my mom and all she said was "I don't know. He hasn't called." He called hours later to say his flight had be redirected to North Carolina. I will never forget that panic.
It's hard to imagine that kids now have no memories of this. That someday I will have to explain what that day was like. I pray for all the families and friends that lost loved ones that day. I cannot imagine that sort of heart ache.

Are you a teacher? I was also in middle school when it happened. The day was so frightening and surreal. I felt so disconnected from it (I had never been to NYC and didn't know what the Twin Towers were) but I had this feeling of dread. It's sad to see all of the choices and reactions that have happened since then too.
DH attempted to cook dinner since I'm so nauseated. It was an epic fail, but he tried so hard. We ended up having leftovers again.
So now I have to go grocery shopping because he used up a lot of groceries that we ended up tossing out. 😞
MH rarely cooks and usually does a good job, but sometimes he thinks he's on iron chef or something and makes the weirdest fricking combinations ever. Sorry it didn't work out, but at least he tried! Hope you feel better.

I know exactly where I was on 9/11. I remember walking to school with a plane over my head - it very well could have been one of the planes as I'm in upstate NY.
The whole thing still gives me that dark nervous scared feeling.
Looking at Nam.eberry and they have an article "Is Lucifer Off-Limits as a Baby Name?"
wut? Do we need an article for this?
Lol. How are you doing with names? I have a list I haven't looked at in a few days. Sometimes I get in baby naming mood and other days I'm like - ugh I'm not going to be able to name this kid until it's 2 .

MH used to be a terrible cook. Over salting things, burning things but now he is the main cook in our house and I'd say 90% of his meals are a 6 or better (out of 10)

Nope, but we want to teach our kids about current events outside of school. We were both pretty sheltered as kids and want to avoid that with our children.

Honestly I haven't given it any thought whatsoever until tonight when my cousin was asking me about the names she's picking out for her LO coming a month before mine. I just made an account on nameberry and am starting a list. Last time we were pregnant we liked the name Har.riet with a nickname of "Hatt.ie" but I'm not 100% sold on it yet.

I'm from downstate, about an hour north of the City. My family members lived on one side of the Hudson but worked on the other. The shut down all the bridges because they didn't know what was next. I had uncles that were supposed to be in the city that day...

We have a running list. Mostly DH says no to everything I add. I've been adding twin combos too and he's been saying yes there to names he's said no to before. We have a for sure girl/boy set decided on. But no girl/girl or boy/boy set. Naming two people is hard.

It was a very nerve racking day for NYC, NYS and the US.

I think you will be b/g or g/g. Don't ask me why but I have a feeling lol.

I don't have a feeling either way. That makes me think it will be b/g. Everyone else seems to be voting b/b. I really don't have a preference :-)

I honestly thought I'd have a preference. My whole time not pregnant and trying I for sure said no girls. But I could careless either way. I just want healthy.
