@led, i'm on the same boat. This morning DS2 started crying so I went in and his eyes were still shut. I gave him about 5 min and he put himself down to sleep....just in time for my toddler to CHARGE into the room and wake him up. So I 'm not sure how long he would have stayed asleep. I give it 5-10min each time he wakes up before going in, unless it's been a really nice long nap already.
Two days until I start the low iodine diet, 9 days until I go in for radioactive iodine and get isolated from my boys for 11 days. Wahhh
all the ((hugs)). My Aunt is going through this right now too. The rules are crazy! For the best, of course, but scary. I admire you so much for going through this with your LO's. I'm cheering for you!!

Thank you. You do what you have to has been my motto. The diet will be hard but I only need to do it for a week. I'm off my meds now and the nurse said I will probably notice after a week, which is on Wednesday. Luckily I have family close so I can unload the big kid if I need to. I can see the boys before the 11 days, technically after 7 days but I'd like to keep their radiation exposure as small as possible so I'm stretching it out until my H has to go back to work.
The last few days DSs head control has gotten way better and so has his rolling. Now he doesn't like me rocking him anymore 😠He fights it every time i try so it sort of defeats the purpose of trying to soothe him by rocking. I miss my cuddle buddy 😢

A was so much this way! Once he figured out how to move he was on the go all the time and had no interest in snuggling! It's looking like Cam will be different but only time will tell.

I leave DD and give it 10 mins before intervening. Usually, she goes right on sleeping.
I should probably start doing that too. I don't give it that long lol
+1. I usually intervene almost immediately. Usually give her about 30 seconds to see if it'll calm down, then I kind of rock her in bed without picking her up and if that doesn't work after a minute or so I pick her up even though she's usually still asleep at that point. I should give her more time to sort herself out.

DD hates to rock to now! ðŸ˜
You guys are making me nervous! I hope R doesn't start hating rocking. I don't know how I would get her to sleep! Plus I would miss all our snuggles.
Good luck ellesea! My sister did it when my nephew was 3 months old.. I mentioned you were doing it and she said "tell her to focus on the sleeping.. Pretty much the upside of not being with your baby."

@led, it could go the other way too. J is a few weeks shy of 2.5 and is just now starting to fall asleep without me cuddling him in bed, or as he calls it, "elbow time".

Lol I find myself thinking that a lot in life. 😂
Fortunately our neighbor is pretty good in terms of noise which is lucky since we only have the one so it would of be awkward to complain. LOL of course there was the whole shed deal but that was settled.
I also remember she had all kinds of weird rules like no one could use the toilet for a certain time after her and what not..
Also, if I were you, I'd be listening to radioactive by imagine dragons non stop.
I have to flush 3 times after each use, I have to shower twice a day, must always have socks or slippers on, wear gloves while reading books(if I plan on taking it home with me), anything I wear while in the hospital will be garbage, if I bring any electronic device in(even in a freezer bag) if it has any detectable radiation on it it will be held for 3 months. The nurses will only come in in the case of an emergency. My food will be left outside my door. There are a few more but those are the major ones. Once I'm discharged the rules settle down a bit. I only have to flush the toilet twice. I have to use and clean my plates and utensils seperately. I have to stay a metre away from people. I can be closer than a metre for a few minutes. This is for 7 days. After 7 days I have a total body scan with nuclear medicine to see where and how much uptake there was.

Yeah.. Sleep is about all that's on the agenda. Is it expected to make you feel any different physically? My sisters was 16 years ago, so I barely remember.
