snoris, she occasionally goes belly to back but is far more interested in scooting herself around the room. She's gotten pretty good at grabbing things. I even saw her reach up and take her paci out of her mouth! No luck getting it back in though.
DS has maybe a 50% success rate at replacing his pacifier but if he misses he gets progressively more upset with each attempt... Making him far less likely to get it. In other words he really only has one chance LOL
FFMC: I leave my "do not disturb" cow sign up way longer than necessary when pumping at work. The culture here is to keep your office door open and sometimes I just want some quiet and privacy.
snoris lo was grabbing at objects purposely before he could even lift his shoulders up during tummy time. He is so close to rolling on to his tummy, just has to figure out what to do with his shoulders. These kids will all learn different things at different rates. Your lo was rocking tummy time before mine could even get his face off the floor!

Haven't checked in with you ladies for a few days I think! Hope everyone has been doing well.
I'm really excited that we've got L sleeping in her crib at night (last 2 nights). Also a little sad though! She still sleeps in our room in the PnP during daytime naps. Once we put something on the window to block out light in the nursery, I think she'll be sleeping full time in the crib. Didn't expect it to be so sad to have her out of our room! My husband doesn't care, it's just me who's affected haha

Back to work today. DS1 sent me off to work with a huge hug and "his plan" that I will pick him up and take him to the park this afternoon. This was MUCH better than what I was expecting. It's the first day in 4 months that he doesn't leave the house before me, instead he sent me off! I was expecting tears. My little boy is all grown up.
DH and I talked a bit more seriously last night about how we are likely not going to have a 3rd baby. Naturally or through adoption. It's odd. I don't feel complete but I don't want a 3rd. It's such an odd feeling. Of course it's early to think of such things, but I am just done in so many ways. I wonder how I will feel in a year.
Monday: I'm at work. Anxiously waiting to see if Joint Commission will show up today or anytime this week.
Also, I still need breakfast.
I always pictured our family complete with 3 kids. But lately I have had no desire to have another baby. It's an odd feeling. I don't really feel complete either but I can't imagine having another baby 😕 Maybe we just have to give it more time but I'm right there with you

snoris DD had no desire to roll over until a couple of days ago and she is one of the older babies I think (born 4/26). She literally started rolling over out of the blue. She is a pro at rolling back to belly but has only gotten belly to back a few times. Don't worry, I will get it when he's ready. Every baby is truly different! I know it's easy to compare but they do things on their time ☺️ And you be surprised how they literally will pick up or learn to do something overnight!

I just got home from Costco with ds2. I had him wrapped but he took a long time to fall asleep and was freaking out in Costco. Some lady came over to help. I'm not sure what she wanted to do exactly. I just needed to bounce and pat until he fell asleep.

DD freaked out at lunch today and people just stared at me like I was a shitty mom. 😂

I find that if I look like I'm not bothered by the crying people don't try to 'help'. This summer ds1 had a meltdown while grocery shopping and I ignored him and continued doing my shopping and people were commenting "aww poor guy". Yeah, poor guy.
Anyone ever transitioned out of a Merlin? How/when/why did you do it?
I was chatting with wanderlust about it today and am curious!
We did with ds1, but it was in the winter months in the great white north. I think we put him in two pairs of footie jammies. Cotton with fleece over top so it still offered a bit of restriction.
So one of my 2nd graders coming in this afternoon looked a little down, so I asked her what was wrong. She initially shrugged it off, but after pressing a little bit come to find out some kids at recess told her if Trump became president she would have to move back where she came from (she's black but I can't remember exactly where her family moved here from). She looked really worried and said she didn't want to leave her friends here.
It breaks my heart to even have to address this. 😞

Holy shit. How awful of those kids! That poor girl.

😳 2nd graders bullying each other over politics?! Good Lord!
Thanks for the developmental pep talk, ladies. It just seems like nothing has changed in weeks. I'm sure that means he'll get lots of new tricks all at once when he's taken it all in. I'll just enjoy my immobile baby a little while longer. I'm sure once he's all over the place I'll wish he was immobile a little longer 🙃

I don't think it was bullying based on the kids involved. I think it was kids repeating what their parents were talking about at home, overheard and filtered with their 2nd grade minds. They were all legit concerned.
That's horrible that anyone should have to think about that aaemommy, let alone a 2nd grader.
I can't wait until lo can keep his lovey overnight. He falls asleep so easily with the soft fuzziness against his face. I hate prying it out of his hands once he falls asleep.

Late to the party. DS is rolling but isn't too consistent about grabbing things intentionally, with the exception of the toy ladybug on his playmat.
I got to eat lunch with one of my former foster kids through work today. He is adopted now and doing fantastic. His story is one of tragedy turned into triumph. ❤️

At what age can they sleep with loveys?
I'm asking even though with the exception of his tag blanket DS doesn't really take to anything. Even the tag blanket he isn't very obsessed with lol

I *think* 6 months but don't quote me. I'm on a safe sleep fb group and I recall someone saying 6 months.
